The following diagram shows examples of connections commonly used to connect the DVD player to TV sets
with other audio equipment.
Before Connecting the DVD player
z Be sure to turn off the power to all components in the system before connecting another component
z Refer to the instruction Manuals for your TV, stereo system and other components to be connected to the
DVD player.
z

METHOD 1 DVD Player + Stereo System
z When you want to play back DVD video discs,
turn on the TV and select the video input source
connected to the DVD receiver.
z When you want to enjoy the sound at the DVD
video discs or audio CDs from the audio system, turn
on the audio system and select the input source
connected to the DVD receiver.
z For connection details, see pages 5 and 6.
z Set the playback picture size according to the
aspect ratio of the connected TV at the SETUP menu
(TV Aspect).
z The DVD receiver turns on and the system
begin to work. Press POWER button on the
front panel. The power indicator will light on
and system is ready for playing. The power
indicator also light on when use the remote
control to turn the system on and standby
z Press the DVD/USB button on the remote
.
z Once the disc is in the tray, press OPEN /
CLOSE button to close the tray. Once closed.
the player will begin to play the disc.
z Place a disc on the disc tray with playback
side down.
z There are two different disc sizes. Place the
disc in the correct guide on the disc tray. If the
disc is out of the guide, it may damage the
disc and cause the DVD receiver to malfunction.
z Do not place anything except 3" disc or 5" disc
on the disc tray.
z Press STOP button once to stop playback and
show the logo screen. The player memorizes
the location where playback is stopped.
z Press PLAY button to resume playback from
the location where playback is stopped.
z When the STOP button is pressed twice, the
resume function will be cleared.
z Press PAUSE button once to pause playback.
The sound is mutted during PAUSE mode.
z Press PLAY button to resume normal
playback.
Press STEP button to pause playback.
z Press STEP button again to single step
forward to the nest picture frame.
z Press PLAY button to resume normal
playback.
z Press FWD button to fast forward through the
disc, The speed can be selected by pressing
the key further (2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, normal).
z Press PLAY button to resume normal
playback.
z Press REV button to fast reverse through the
disc The speed can be selected by pressing
the key further (2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, normal).
z Press PLAY to resume normal playback.

z Each time the SLOW forward button is pressed,
the slow motion speed changes {1/2,1/4,1/8,
1/16 of normal speed.)
z Press PLAY button to resume normal playback.
z Press NEXT button to skip forward to
the beginning of the next chapter (DVD) or
track (Audio CD).
z Press PREV button once to skip
backward to the previous chapter (DVD) or
backward to the previous truck (Audio CD).
z Press the DISPLAY button to check the
elapsed time and remaining time as illustrated.
1. You can enjoy and adjust sound volume level
(0-20 steps) simply by pressing VOLUME +/-
button on the remote control handset.
z Press REPEAT button to repeat the chapter,
Title and all for DVD disc; track and all for CD
disc
TITLE/ ALL repeat entire title
When playback reaches the end title of the disc,
playback resumes at the beginning.
CHAPTER - repeat current chapter
When playback reaches the end of the current
chapter, playback jumps back to the beginning of
the chapter.
TRACK - repeat current track
When playback reaches the end of the current track,
playback jumps back to the beginning of the track.
z Press A - B button once at the beginning of
the segment (point A) you want to play
repeatedly.
z Press A - B button again at the end of the
segment (point B).
z The player automatically
returns to point A and starts
repeat playback of the
selected segment (A B).
z Press A - B button a third
time to disable repeat A B

z You can use the menus for the audio language.

1. Press the DVD MENU button during playback.
The menu screen appears.
2. Use the up/down ( ) or left/right ( )
button to access the different features.

z The selected item will play.
z For DVD's containing multiple titles, you can
view the title of each movie.
Depending on the disc, this function may either
not work at all, or may work differently.
z Press AUDIO button to select different audio
languages (eg. English, French, Spanish,
German …… depending on the number of
languages recorded on a DVD disc).
z Press SUBTITLE button to select different
subtitle languages (eg. English, French,
Spanish, German,.....depending on the number
of languages recorded on a DVD disc).
z Press ZOOM button repeatedly during
playback to select zoom 2x, 3x, 4x to change
the size of the picture.
z While an image is enlarged, you can use UP/
DOWN, LEFT / RIGHT burtons to shift the
view and display the part you wanted.
z Press the ANGLE button during playback to
select the desired angle.
z This function only works with discs on which
multiple scenes were shot from different angles.
z Press the TIME button.
z Each time the button is pressed, it repeats as
shown below.
z The player will jump to the desired location
immediately.
z In VCD2.0 playback. Press TIME button to
choose a search mode
(Disc Time/Track Time/Track Number)
z In CD or VCD discs, press TIME button and
enter the track number.

Some CD-Rs may contain pictures in a JPEG
format. For example, you may have photographic
film developed with pictures stored in JPEG format.
Then you can playback those JPEG files in this
player.
Some useful features are described below:
z When you insert a disc with JPEG files, the
files or pictures available for playback will be
listed on the screen.
z Press UP / DOWN buttons to select the folder
or file and press ENTER.
z After you open one JPEG file, each
subsequent file will appear automatically for a
few seconds.
To keep the JPEG image on the screen longer,
press PAUSE button to pause the image,
z During playback, press UP / DOWN, LEFT /
RIGHT to rotate or flip the image.
z During playback, press STOP button. Press
UP/ DOWN buttons to select PREV or NEXT,
then press ENTER.
z Press UP/ DOWN buttons to select the picture,
then press ENTER and it will shift to slide show
mode starting with the picture selected.
This system has a built in MP3 decoder. You can
playback MP3 tracks (files) recorded on CD-R.
CD-RW.
z It is recommended you turn on you TV when
playing back an MP3 disc.
1. press the OPEN/CLOSE button to load a disc.
The menu will show up the folders and the files
in root directory.
2. Use the buttons to select the desired
music folder, then press ENTER.
3. Use the buttons again to select a song
file. Press ENTER to begin playback of the
song file.
The indication corresponding to the selected
mode appears on the TV screen.

to select play mode.

The SETUP MENU let you to customize the DVD
player by allowing you to select various language
preferences, set up a parental level, turn captions
and screen saver on and off, adjust what type of
television screen you have and more. Below, find
the menu, and then find the corresponding page
that describes the features of the selected menu option.
1. When you press SETUP button on the remote
control, the SETUP MENU will be displayed.
2. Within the SETUP MENU, you can use
and buttons on the remote control to
move the cursor and then press the ENTER/PLAY botton to
make your selection. Press can return the previous
menu.
3. To exit SETUP MENU, you can press Setup button again.
Select GENERAL SETUP in the SETUP MENU
and then select the desired option using the cursor
( ) buttons to navigate through the menus/
screens and press the ENTER button to select.
NORMAL/PS: Pan scan. Select when the unit is
connected to a conventional TV. Video material
formatted in the Pan Scan style is play back with
the left and right edges are cut off.
NORMAL/LB: Letter Box. Select when the unit is
connected to a normal TV. Wide-screen images are shown
on the screen with a black band at the top and bottom.
WIDE: Select when the unit is connected to a wide-screen
TV
Note:
The displayable picture size is preset on the DVD
disc. Therefore the playback picture of some DVD
discs may not conform to the picture size you select.
Some DVDs include scenes recorded from different
angles. This selection can show the marking.
You can set the SETUP and on-screen messages
to appear in English. This language

z Select RAW if the player is connected to a 5.1
home theatre system by a coaxial cable (not
supplied).
z Select PCM to enable the internal Dolby Digital
decoder of this player.
SPDIF OUTPUT
This is the output mode of the L and R signals of
the set audio output. If it is set to "MIX MONO', the
function only works when the DVD being played is
2.0 channel.

- Choose this option, the audio output should be
dummy stereo signal.

Dynamic Range Compression reduces volume
changes by letting you adjust the difference between
soft and loud sounds.
Press or to set Dynamic Range higher dynamic
sound will be produced if dynamic range is selected.
Select VIDEO SETUP in the setup menu then press

turn off the parental controls.

yourself, then press ENTER.
You cannot play DVD discs rated higher than the
level you selected unless you cancel the parental
lock function.
Parental control levels
Notes: Parental control is a relatively new feature
encoded
Parental control limits viewing of DVDs when a
DVD has movie rating that exceeds the parental
level you selected.
To adjust the PARENTAL level so that DVDs cannot
be played if the level has exceed, see PARENTAL
CONTROL LEVELS. Press and to select
password, CHANGE will be highlighted and then
press ENTER.
z A box beside OLD password will be highlighted.
z Press the number buttons to enter your Old 4-
digit password. The box beside NEW password
will be highlighted automatically.
RATING EXPLANATIONS
z KID SAF - Kid safe; it is safe even for kids.
z G - General Audience; recommended as
acceptable for viewers of all ages.
z PG - Parental Guidance suggested.
z PG 13 - Material is unsuitable for children
under age 13.
z PG-R - Parental Guidance-restricted;
recommended that parents restrict children
under age 17 from viewing or allow children
to view only when supervised by a parent or
adult guardian.
z R - Restricted, under 17 requires
accompanying parent or adult guardian.
z NC-17 - NO children under age 17; not
recommended viewing for children under age
17.
z ADULT - Mature material; should be viewed
only by adults due to graphic sexual material,
violence, or language.

z Press the number buttons to enter new 4-digit
password of your choice. The box beside
CONFIRM PWD will be highlighted
automatically.
z Press the number buttons to enter the same
new 4-digit password you just entered for the
NEW PASSWORD.
z Press ENTER to save the new password.
NOTES: When first time to use this DVD player,
"OLD PASSWORD" just press ENTER to bypass.
Enter the NEW PASSWORD for this DVD player.
To restore the original settings of the player, follow
the steps below.
Press and to select DEFAULT.
RESET will be highlighted. Press ENTER.
z The original settings of the player will be
restored.
To clear 4-digit password if you forget your
password, follow the procedure below.
1. At the change page enter 4-digit number
"8888 - (DEFAULT PASSWORD) and
then press ENTER.
2. Enter a new password.

z Connect the speakers and components securely.
z Move your TV away from the audio components.
The remote control does not work properly. z Point the remote control at the remote sensor of the DVD
receiver.
z Operate the remote control within about 5m.
z Remove the obstacle.
z Replace the batteries with new ones.
Completely distorted picture or no colour If the picture is distorted completely or if the picture rolls vertically,
make sure the NTSC/PAL setting at the DVD player matches the
colour system of your television.
