1. General information
Is delivery complete: Please check if the unit has undergone any transport damage. If not then
check that the delivery is complete.
Contained in the package should be:
- Primo-Count II
- Paper cassette with one roll of paper fitted
- 4 Fixing screws and bushes fitted to the front bezel
- On option "Mounting frame": 2 x panel fixing clamps
Safety notes This unit is constructed for panel mounting in control panels and cabinets.
It complies with the requirements according to EN 61010-1 / VDE 0411
Part 1 and left our works in perfect and safe condition.
In order to maintain this condition and operate safely the user must take
note of the following safety information and warnings contained in these
instructions.
-Operation of the unit is only permissible in installed condition.
-Installation and connection is only to be done by skilled personnel.
Please ensure that the unit is protected from involuntary access and
installed to the relevant safety requirements.
-First check that the power supply to be used corresponds with that on
the unit legend plate.
-Make sure that a suitable isolation switch is installed in the vicinity of the
unit. This switch must be easily accessible and be identified as an
isolation switch.
-The mains power supply must be supplied via a fuse (< 10 A)
-If it is assumed that the unit cannot be safely operated (visible damage)
it must be immediately taken out of operation and secured against
unintentional use.
-There are no components in the unit that can be repaired by the user. All
repairs must be done by trained service personnel.

2. Mechanical installation
2.1 Environmental conditions Please note the following when installing the unit :

(Protection class with door and latch/lock IP 54)
Distance from strong magnetic fields

Relative air humidity max. 75 %
2.2 Panel mounting 1. Undo screws and remove chassis from panel frame.
2. Push frame in panel cut out (DIN 43700: 138+1 x 138+1 mm).
3. Fix mounting brackets into slots and fasten evenly until the primo-count II
frame is held firmly to panel.

4. Push primo-count II into the frame and fasten fixing screws. Further
support is not required.

3. Electrical connection
3.1 Connection diagram All in/output connections are made via terminals on the rear of the unit.
L (+) = Phase (Plus on DC-version)
N (-) = Neutral (Minus on DC-version)
= Earth
1 = Internal auxiliary voltage + approx. 12 VDC
2 = Internal auxiliary voltage 0 Volt

Connect mains power green LED lights up
Printout:
Date and time continue to operate for approx. 1000 hours after a power
failure. Incoming count impulses accepted before power failure are also
memorized for approx. 1000 hours. If power failure is longer than 1000
hours the unit initiates a "Cold Start" on power return.

5. Setting up
5.1 How to set the unit up If the setting up code lock, key C and 6051, is open the unit can be set up
by using the push buttons on the keypad. If setting up is locked then
operating the push buttons prints the preset values and one blank line.
In the open mode the first operation of a push button prints out the preset
data, the push button function and a blank line.

Setting up procedure can be aborted by operating push button C. The
same abort procedure is initiated if the time between individual operation of
push buttons is greater than 15 seconds. An abort procedure does not
change any of the preset data in the unit. Unrecognisable data is
acknowledged with a printout ERROR, original data stays unchanged.
