RemovingtheVac-Bagger
Anuncovereddischargeopeningcouldallow
thelawnmowertothrowobjectsintheoperator
orbystander’sdirectionandresultinserious
injury.Also,contactwiththebladecouldoccur.
Neveroperatethelawnmowerunlessyouinstall
acoverplate,amulchplate,oragrasschute
andcatcher.
RemovingtheDischargeTube
1.Unhooktherubberlatchontotheknob(Figure27).

Withoutthegrassdeector,dischargecover,
orcompletegrasscatcherassemblymounted
inplace,youandothersareexposedtoblade
contactandthrowndebris.Contactwiththe
rotatingmowerblade(s)andthrowndebriswill
causeinjuryordeath.
•Neverremovethegrassdeectorfrom
themowerbecausethegrassdeector
routesmaterialdowntowardtheturf.Ifthe
grassdeectoriseverdamaged,replaceit
immediately.
•Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthe
mower.
•Nevertrytoclearthedischargeareaor
mowerbladesunlessyoumovetheblade
controlswitch(PTO)toOffandrotatethe
ignitionkeytoOff.Alsoremovethekeyand
pullthewireoffofthesparkplug(s).
