Before You Begin

IMPORTANT! Leave this manual for the end user. Read these instructions before installing or using this

product.

IMPORTANT! This door is designed to accommodate walls that are less than 3/8″ (10 mm) out of plumb.

Verify the area the door will be attached to is within 3/8″ (10 mm) of plumb. The door may not function

properly if the wall is more than 3/8″ (10 mm) out of plumb.

Before starting the installation, lay out and identify all of the parts. Inspect them for damage.

Place a drop cloth in the bottom of your shower to cover your drain and ease clean-up.

Closely follow the manufacturer’s instructions pertaining to the sealant application on the door.

Sealing areas other than those shown may cause leaking.

Two people should perform this installation.

If your model includes a return panel, follow the return panel instructions and consult these

instructions as needed.

1. Determine the Door Conﬁguration

IMPORTANT! Install the pivot side of the door on the side opposite the showerhead for easy access to

shower controls.

Determine whether the door will pivot on the right or left side.

Conﬁrm no accessories will contact the door panel when it is opened or closed.

Make sure the door can swing freely in the chosen conﬁguration.

2. Prepare for Installation

IMPORTANT! This door is designed to accommodate walls that are less than 3/8″ (10 mm) out of plumb.

Verify the area the door will be attached to is within 3/8″ (10 mm) of plumb. The door may not function

properly if the wall is more than 3/8″ (10 mm) out of plumb.

NOTE: Cover the drain hole or close the drain to avoid losing parts.

Conﬁrm the shower base is level.

Conﬁrm the walls are within 3/8″ (10 mm) of plumb.

Mark the wall 3/8″ (10 mm) from the front edge of the shower base. Repeat for the other side.

Cut the zip tie and remove the wall jamb from the door frame.

3. Prepare the Strike Side Wall Jamb

IMPORTANT! Do not install the strike side wall jamb until instructed. The strike side wall jamb is on the

same side as the door handle holes.

Position the strike side wall jamb on the wall 3/8″ (10 mm) from the front ledge of the shower

base.

Plumb the wall jamb using a level.

Temporarily secure the wall jamb with masking tape.

Mark the location of the four wall jamb slots on the wall.

Remove the masking tape, then move the wall jamb to a safe area.

IMPORTANT! The supplied 6 mm drill bit is not suitable for drilling through tile. For tile installations,

usea6mmtile bit.

Slowly drill the marked hole location, using the provided 6 mm drill bit for non-tiled walls.

Insert an anchor into each hole. Make sure the anchors are ﬂush with the ﬁnished wall.

4. Install the Pivot Side Wall Jamb

Position the pivot side wall jamb on the wall 3/8″ (10 mm) from the front ledge of the shower base.

Plumb the wall jamb using a level.

Temporarily secure the wall jamb with masking tape.

Mark the location of the four wall jamb slots on the wall.

Remove the masking tape, then move the wall jamb to a safe area.

IMPORTANT! The supplied 6 mm drill bit is not suitable for drilling through tile. For tile installations,

usea6mmtile bit.

Slowly drill the marked hole location, using the provided 6 mm drill bit for non-tiled walls.

Insert an anchor into each hole. Make sure the anchors are ﬂush with the ﬁnished wall.

Secure the wall jamb to the wall using the four #8 x 1-1/2″ screws.

5. Position the Door Assembly

CAUTION: Risk of injury. Tempered glass should not contact hard surfaces or it may shatter. Do

not touch the edge of the tempered glass panel with tools or any hard objects.

Position the strike side wall jamb on the door frame.

Slide the pivot side of the door frame into the installed pivot side wall jamb.

Adjust the door frame until it is in the ﬁnal installation position.

6. Center the Door Frame

Open the door.

Conﬁrm the strike side wall jamb holes are aligned with the anchors. Adjust if needed.

On the strike side of the frame, insert the supplied guide into one of the screw holes.

Insert a #8 x 1-1/2″ into the guide and tighten.

Remove the guide.

Repeat for the other three screw holes.

Center the door frame between the wall jambs. Dimension X should be the same on both sides.

NOTE: Leave a small gap at the handle side of the door for clearance from the strike jamb. The door will

not close properly without this gap.

7. Install the Door Assembly

Conﬁrm the door frame is square. Adjust the frame if needed following the adjustment steps in this

manual.

On one of the wall jambs, using the supplied 3 mm hex wrench, turn each of the three locking

screws clockwise 1/4 turn to lock the door frame in place.

Repeat with the second wall jamb.

8. Install the Handle

Position the handle with the inserts on the door. The inserts should go through the corresponding

holes.

Install gaskets on the inserts.

Slide the second handle onto the inserts.

Secure the handle by tightening the two setscrews in the handle.

9. Install the Cover Seal and Strip

Apply Silicone Sealant

Partially remove the strike jamb seal from the bottom of the strike jamb.

Apply a small amount of silicone sealant behind the strike jamb seal.

Push the strike jamb seal back into place.

Remove any excess silicone sealant.

Install the Cover Seal and Strip

Install the cover seal.

Position the wall jamb ﬁller strip next to the channel in the jamb, with it positioned slightly above

the opening.

Angle the ﬁller strip into the channel.

Rotate the ﬁller strip into place starting at the top and working down.

Push the ﬁller strip down until it is ﬂush with the top of the wall jamb.

Repeat with the second wall jamb.

10. Install the Door Seal

NOTE: View shown above is from inside the shower.

Install the long seal to the bottom of the door panel from the strike side to the hinge bracket.

Install the short seal to the bottom of the door panel from the hinge bracket to the edge of the

panel.

Install the seal to the pivot side of the door panel.

11. Adjust the Door

Open and close the door panel and check for smooth operation and correct alignment.

If the door catch needs adjustment, adjust the door catch in or out by turning the setscrew with the

supplied 2 mm hex wrench.

If the door panel contacts the base or is out of alignment, adjustment is required.

Remove the cover.

To make adjustments, loosen the locking screw and turn the adjustment screw to adjust the door as

needed with the supplied 3 mm hex wrench.

Check for smooth operation and alignment.

Repeat until ﬁnal adjustment has been reached.

Tighten the locking screw.

Reinstall the cover.

12. Complete the Installation

IMPORTANT! Carefully follow the silicone sealant manufacturer’s instructions for application and curing

time.

NOTE: When applying silicone sealant, tape the area and use alcohol pads or denatured alcohol for

cleanup.

Apply silicone sealant to the seams as shown.

Apply a small amount of silicone sealant to the underside of each cap.

Install the caps to the top of the wall jambs.

Care and Cleaning

For best results, keep the following in mind when caring for your KOHLER product:

•

Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.

•

Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately after applying cleaner. Rinse and

dry any overspray that lands on nearby surfaces.

•

Do not allow cleaners to soak on surfaces.

•

Use a soft, dampened sponge or cloth. Never use an abrasive material such as a brush or scouring

pad to clean surfaces.

•

The ideal cleaning technique is to rinse thoroughly and wipe the product dry after each use.

Warranty

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

KOHLER plumbing products are warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year

from date of installation.

Kohler Co. will, at its election, repair, replace or make appropriate adjustment where Kohler Co. inspection

discloses any such defects occurring in normal usage within one (1) year after installation. Kohler Co. is not

responsible for removal or installation costs. Use of in-tank toilet cleaners will void the warranty.
