2Wire PC Port Driver Installation for
Windows Computers
These instructions describe the procedure to install the Windows USB driver for the 2Wire PC Port
Phoneline 10 Mbps USB Adapter, and are intended only for those customers who did not receive a CD-ROM
with their PC Port. If you have other issues, please refer to the troubleshooting section of the PC Port
installation guide.
1. Download the PC Port driver.
2. Open the self-extracting archive.
3. Enter the name of a folder to which to extract the files (for example, C:\PCP). Click Unzip.
4. Power on your computer. Windows recognizes the PC Port and automatically launches the Add New
Hardware Wizard.
5. Select Search for the best driver for your device.
6. Click Next.
7. Select Specify a location and specify the folder to which the files were extracted.
8. Click Next.
9. Windows is now ready to load the network driver. Click Next. The driver loads.
10. Click Finish. Windows may take several minutes to complete the driver installation. When the System
Settings Change window opens, click
Yes to restart the computer. If the System Settings Change
window does not open, restart your computer by clicking
Start > Shut Down > Restart > OK.
Note: If asked to insert your Windows CD, please do so and follow the on-screen instructions. If
you cannot locate your Windows CD, look for the driver in the following locations:
C:\WINDOWS\options\cabs
C:\Windows
C:\Windows\system
D:\Win98
