included remote control, or by removing the SD card and viewing on your PC.
If removing the card, first power down the device to avoid file corruption.
Gently guide the CE-RP5’s cables into the PVM, and slide the back cover
back into place.
7. REPLACE BACK COVER
Attach the main power cord to the PVM. Turn the CE-RP5 power switch to
the ON position. The Record, and Power lights on the front of the CE-RP5 will
illuminate.

DEVICE OVERVIEW:

6. LED Output- Connect a single LED diode to LED + / LED-, which will illuminate in conjunction with the main
recording LED on the front of the device.
7. Event Alarm Output- Connect #4 GND / Motion Out : This is a normally closed alarm output which will become
open when triggered by a motion or by an alarm event input.
8. Alarm Input - Connect wires to #1 GND / Alarm In: This alarm input can be configured to Normally Open /
Normally Closed in the OSD Menu under Power On Setup.

REMOTE OVERVIEW:
1. Navigation Arrows- Use to move Up, Down, Left, Right within the OSD menu
2. Menu /Enter- Press to enter OSD menu, and for OSD selection
3. Play / Pause - Press once to enter playback mode. Press again when in playback mode to pause
4. Record- Press to start manual recording
5. Exit- Press to stop manual recording, or to exit a current menu selection
6. OSD ON/ OFF- Press to hide or show the menu information (date, time, resolution, etc.)

Basic Setup
BASIC SETUP:
1. Connect barrel plug from DC12 Volt 1 Amp Power supply to device. *Power supply sold separately.
2. Plug outlet from DC12 Volt Power Supply into wall outlet/power source.
3. Connect HD-SDI from camera to HD-SDI Input.
4. Connect Video Output (HD-SDI, HDMI, or Analog) to corresponding output, and connect other end to Monitor.

Basic Setup
This device is factory set to record on motion events only. To record on alarm, calendar,
or schedule, make changes in the Schedule Record menu.

3. Video Input Resolution - Resolution and frame rate of connected HD-SDI camera.
Changing the recording resolution/frame rate will not eect this input resolution/
frame rate, nor will it eect the device’s output resolution/frame rate.

Normal Playback: While in Live View press the Play/Pause button on the remote control to play video.
Playback on PC:
• Eject the DVR SD Card.
• Insert SD Card into computer.
• On your computer, select the SD Card folder. Search through the segmented files to find your desired clip.
• Open the clip in Windows Media Player to view. Clips are in AVI format.
The last file on the SD Card may be corrupted due to pulling it from the unit. This 3MB file will not aect the
desired recording as it is only the last few seconds before the SD Card was pulled.
AVI video files are not viewable on Apple/MAC computers.
Normal Playback Speed
Fast Forward / Fast Rewind
During normal playback, press Fast Forward or Fast Rewind button in the same direction
again to increase the search speed (Speed: x2/ x4/ x8/ x16/ x32). Press Play/Pause button to
playback at normal speed
Pause
Slow Playback (frame by frame)
After PAUSE, press Fast Forward/Rewind buttons to search frame by frame
Event List Playback: From the DVR Menu, choose Search & Play to choose which video to playback. Select the
desired date, and then select from one of the available files for playback.

Date Format: Adjust the display of date - Month/Day/Year, Year/Month/Day, Day/Month/Year
Set Year / Month / Date / Time: Adjust the time and date information.
DST: Day Light Savings Time - On/O
Set MD Area: Areas in highlighted in RED will detect motion. Use the arrow buttons to select desired cell(s).
Pressing the MENU button will turn On/O the selected motion detection cell. To change the Mode of selection
press the REC button.
Cell Edit: Turn On/O cells individually
DEL Block: Turn O large blocks of cells
DEL All: Turn all cells O
Add Block: Turn On large blocks of cells
Add All: Turn all cells On
Set MD Sensitivity:
MD Energy: Displays current recognized motion. Motion is displayed as RED blocks.
MD Threshold: Press Left or Right on the remote control to adjust the sensitivity of motion detection. The lower
the value, the more motion will be detected.

Schedule Setup:
Schedule: Turn Schedule Recording On/O. The Schedule map is laid out in hours of the day. Each hour can have
a dierent type of recording mode set to it. Navigate between the hours using the UP or DOWN button on the
remote. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to change the recording type; Alarm, Motion, Continuous (Calendar),
All Modes, or No modes.
MANUAL RECORD
The DVR has multiple recording modes; Manual, Schedule, Event & Continuous. Each recording mode has
individual options for recording quality.
Manual Recording occurs when the REC button on the remote is pressed. To stop Manual recording press the
EXIT button.
SCHEDULE RECORD
Adjust the dierent settings of Schedule, Event/Motion & Continuous Recording modes.

DVR - Schedule Record / SD Card Options
Event (Alarm & Motion) Record: Adjust the video quality for motion and alarm input recording.
Continuous (Calendar) Record: Adjust the video quality for continuous recording. Hours for continuous recording
can be set up in the Schedule Record/Schedule Setup section.
Disk Total: Displays the total capacity of the installed SD Card.
Disk Remain: Displays the total available remaining space on the SD Card.
Max File Size: Set the file size limit for recorded video files. Once the limit is reached a new file will start to record.
Card Full: Choose between LOOP or STOP.
LOOP: Oldest files will be overwritten when the card is full.
STOP: When the card is full, recording will stop.
Format: Formats the SD Card to FAT32. All information saved on the SD Card will be deleted!
