StepByStepInstructions

Beforeassemblingyourbike,makesurethatyouhaveallthepartslistedonthe
previouspage.Thefollowingstepsexplainhowtoassembleyour5009Uupright
bike.Pleasereadeverystepthoroughlyandfollowthedirectionscompletelyto
ensurecorrectassembly.
Thepackagingforthisunitwasdesignedtoprotectitduringshipment.
Pleasestoretheoriginalpackaginginasafeplaceincaseyouneed
toshiptheunitinthefuture.
1.Takeoutthecycleframeandmakesureallpackingmaterialareremovedfrom
theunit.
2.Placetheuprightbikeonalevel,flatsurface.
3.Slipthepostcoverontotheuprightpost.(seeFig1)

4.Locatethe16pincableconnectorinsidetheuprightpostandinsertitintothe
socketofthebicycleframe.Tightentheconnectorsecurelybyturningboth
screwspinsclockwise(seeFig.2).
5.Inserttheuprightpostintothecycleframe,securingwithsixboltsand
washers(twoboltsandwavewashersoneachleftandrightside,andtwobolts
andflatwashersonthefrontside),asshowninFig3.

6.Slidethepostcoverdownintoplace,andsecurewithfourscrews.(seeFig4)
7.Attachthefootpedalstothecrankarmsofthebike.Becarefultoinstallthe
pedalsonthecorrectcrankarms.Useanopen-endedwrenchtotightenthe
pedalssecurely(seeFig5)
A"R"or"L"onthefootpedalindicatesthecorrectside.Installthepedal
marked"R"ontheright-handcrankarm(asyoustandattherearofthebike
facingfront).Whenyouinstallthepedalmarked"L"ontheleft-handcrankarm,
rotatethepedalcounterclockwisetotightensincethepedalhasleft-hand
screwthreads.

8.Assemblethewaterbottleholderusingtwoscrewsprovided(seeFig6).
Ifthebikeisunsteadyonyourfloor,turnthefloorleveladjustmentlocatedeither
ontherearfeetorfrontcrossframe.Raiseorlowerthefloorleveladjustmentto
steadyyourbike.Tightenthefloorleveladjustmentbyturningit
counterclockwise.(SeeFig7)

Toadjusttheseatupordown,turntheheightadjustmentknoblocatingonthe
seatsupportcounterclockwise,thenpulloutandadjusttheseatheighttoyour
desiredposition(seeFig.8).Then,releasetheknobandturnitclockwiseinto
positiontosecuretheseat.(seeFig9)

SET:
PlugthePOWERCORDintoanelectricaloutlet,thenturnonthepowerswitch
locatedonthefrontofthebike.Themainwindowofelectronicpackagewill
automaticallyappear"MAN'L".IfthisistheModeyouwishtostart,youmay
simplypedalthebiketobegin.Youmayalsopressotherfunctionkeysandfollow
thescrolledmessagestostartyourworkout.
Ifyoudonotpedalwithin3secondsoryoustopinthemiddleofyourworkout,
youwillbepromptedtoPEDALTOSTARTWITHLOADINLEVEL(WATTS).
1.Assoonasyouturnonthemachine,youwillgostraightintotheMANUAL
MODE,"MAN'L"willappearinthecentralwindow.
2.YoucanpressLOADbuttonstoadjustyourdesiredload.
YoucanpressTIMEbuttonstosetyourworkouttime.
YoucanpressDISTANCEbuttonstosetthedesireddistance.
3.Afteryoufinishyoursetting,ifyoudonotpedalwithin3secondsoryoustopin
themiddleofyourworkout,thecentralwindowwilldisplay"PEDALTOSTART
WITHLOADINLEVEL(WATTS)"topromptyoutopedalthebike.Allinput
information(LOAD,TIMEorDISTANCEetc.)willberetained.
4.Whenyourdesiredtimeordistanceisreached,abeeptonewillsoundfor10
secondstoalerttheuser.
PresstheMANUAL/SETkey,and"MAN'L"willshowinthedisplay.Pressthe
keyonceagain,and"SET"willappearinthedisplay.ThenpressENTER.
1.YoucanchoosebetweenMILE/KILO,MALE/FEMALEandWEIGHTwhilein
theSETMODE.
2.Thereadoutwilldisplay"PRESSTOSELECTMILE/KILO".Press
keystoselecteitherMILEorKILO,thenpressENTERtosaveyourselection.
(Note:choosingMILEwillautomaticallyselectpoundsintheweight
calculation,andchoosingKILOwillautomaticallyselectkilogramsinthe
weightcalculation.)
3.Youwillbepromptedtochoosebetween"MALE/FEMALE".Usetheto
selectyourchoice,thewindowdisplaywillbe"-M"or"-F",pressENTERto
recordthatchoice.

4.Next,"ENTERWEIGHT"willscrollacrossthescreen.Thenthelastweight
settingwillshowonthedisplay.Usethetochangeyourdesiredweight.
Onceyouhavesetyourdesiredweight,press"ENTER"torecordthem.This
willallowtheunittocalculateyourcalorieexpenditure.

themainwindow.
AdjustyourdesiredLOADandTIMEbyusingthebuttons,thenpress
ENTERtocompletethesetting.
3.Youwillbepromptedto"PEDALTOSTART",andthebikewillautomatically
adjusttheloadaccordingtoyourenteredpreferences.
4.Whenpedaling,thewindowwilldisplaythecourseprofileandcountdownto
zeroforeachsegment.
5.WhentheRESTintervalisover,thedisplaywillshow"GOINGTOWORK
LOAD",andthemachinewilladjusttothesettingsyouchoseforthework
interval.WhentheWORKtimeisover,thedisplaywillshow"GOINGTOREST
LOAD",andreturntothesettingsyouchosefortherestinterval.
6.Youcanchangetheloadatanytimeduringyourworkout.

ThereareEIGHTsegmentsinInterval2.PresstheINTVbuttonuntilyousee

Youwillbepromptedto"INPUTLOADLEVEL(orWATTS)&TIMEOFSEGMENT
1".Then"SEG1"willappearonthedisplay.Usethekeystoselectthe
desiredLOADandTIME,thenpressENTER.
AfteryouhavesetyourdesiredSEG.1setting,"SEG.2"willappearinthe
window.ForSegments2-8settings,pleaserefertotheinstructionsasabove.
Onceallsegmentsareset,yourownpersonalprogram,underINTV.2willbe
recorded.
Ifyouonlywanttosetfoursegments,forexample,leavetheTIMEofsegment5
withavalueofzero,andthebikewillperformonlyyourdesiredfoursegments.
Whenpedaling,thewindowwilldisplaythecourseprofilesandtheywillflash
fromSEG1.
Attheendofeachsegment,thedisplaywillread"GOINGTOSEGMENTX"
Youcanchangethetensionlevelduringyourworkout.
Ifyoustopinthemiddleofyourworkout,youwillbepromptedto"PEDALTO
START".Allinputinformation(TIME,DIST.,CAL.,etc.)willberetained.
The5009Ufeaturesatotalofsix(6)professionallydesignedworkoutprograms.
Theprogramscontroltheloadofyourworkout.
1.PressthePROGRAMbuttonstoscrollbetweenthe6Programs.Whenyou
havechosentheprogramyouwant,press"ENTER".
2.Youwillbepromptedto"PRESSTOSETTIME/DIST".Youcanonlyset
TIMEorDISTANCE(butnotboth).UsebuttonstosetyourdesiredTIME

Thisbikerequireslittlemaintenance.Thebike'slowfrictionoperationis
dependentonkeepingtheunitascleanaspossible.
CAUTION:TurnoffunitanddisconnectACcordbeforecleaning.
Regularcleaningisrecommendedtokeepyourbikeatpeakperformance.
Beforeyourworkout,useadryclothtocleanthesurfaceoftheelectronics
package.
Note:NEVERPOURLIQUIDSONTHEELECTRONICSPACKAGE.
Tocleantheplasticparts,useamilddetergentandmakesuretheunitis
completelydrybeforeoperating.
Itisrecommendedthatyoukeepallliquidsawayfromtheunitduringoperation.
Spillageofliquidsontoorintothemachinewillvoidthewarranty.
Thedurationofyourexercisesessionisdependentonyourfitnesslevel.In
general,itisrecommendedthatyoumaintainyourheartrateinthetrainingzone
foratleast10minutestorealizeanaerobicbenefit.Asyourfitnesslevel
increases,youwillbeabletomaintainyourheartrateinthetrainingzonefor
longerperiods,usuallybetween20and30minutes.
Whenstartingyourworkout,usethefirstseveralminutestowarmup,thenslowly
increaseyourworkloadtobringyourheartrateintoyourspecifictrainingzone.
Attheendofyourworkout,graduallydecreaseyourworkload,thenexercise
lightlyasa"cooldown".
Aerobicexercises,toachievethegreatestbenefits,shouldbeperformed3-5
timesaweek.
Itisimportanttoallowsufficienttime,atleast24hours,foryourbodytorecover
afterexercise.
