MX410 Power Supply Unit (PSU)

CAUTION: Per GR-1089-CORE October 2002, Section 9, the
MX410 is designed and intended only for installation in a
DC-C (common) Bonding and Grounding system. It is
not intended or designed for installation in a DC-I
(isolated) Bonding and Grounding system. The ground
wire must be of equal or greater ampacity than the wire
connected to the VDC return.
INSTALLATION
After unpacking the unit, inspect it for damage. If damage is noted,
file a claim with the carrier and then contact ADTRAN. For more
information, refer to the warranty statement on the reverse side of this
Job Aid.
To install the PSU, perform the following steps:
1. If necessary, remove the blank faceplate on the MX410.
2. Carefully insert the PSU into an empty MX410 slot labeled
PSU A
or
PSU B
(see the figure on the reverse side).
3. Tighten the two screws on the PSU front panel to secure the PSU.
Once the PSU is inserted,
LEDs on the MX410 front panel should
illuminate. Refer to the MX410 Job Aid (P/N 61189500L1-22) for
detailed LED status information.
OPERATIONAL SPECIFICATIONS
When used with the MX410, the PSU specifications are as follows:
Operates with the following input voltage power feeds:
–48 VDC systems: –42 VDC to –60 VDC
–24 VDC systems: –22 VDC to –27 VDC
+24 VDC systems: +22 VDC to +27 VDC
Extended operating temperature range: –40°C to +65°C
Storage temperature range: –40°C to +85°C
Relative humidity: 95 percent maximum, noncondensing
GENERAL
The MX410 Power Supply Unit (P/N 1189501L1) is used with the
MX410 (P/N 1189500L1). The MX410 Power Supply Unit (PSU)
supplies power to the MX410 with redundant capability when two units
are inserted.
Compliance
When installed in the MX410, the PSU complies with the requirements
covered under UL 60950, NEBS Level 3, and GR-1089-CORE, and is
intended to be installed in restricted access areas only.
When installed in the MX410, the PSU complies with Part 15 of the
FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1)
This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device
must accept any interference received, including interference that may
cause undesired operation.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by ADTRAN could
void the users authority to operate this equipment.
CAUTION: If only one PSU is installed in the MX410, the empty PSU
slot must be covered by a blank faceplate (P/N 1189502L1)
to prevent access to the slot.
