1. When the inside of the car is very cold and
theplayerisusedsoonafterswitching
on the heater, moisture may form on the
disc or the optical parts of the player and
properplaybackmaynotbepossible.If
moistureformsonthedisc,wipeitowith
asoftcloth.Ifmoistureformsontheoptical
parts of the player, do not use the player
foraboutonehour.Thecondensation
willdisappearnaturallyallowingnormal

Storing the DCP in the DCP Case

theft. When detaching the control panel, store

PANEL)casetopreventscratches.
WerecommendtakingtheDCPwithyou
whenleavingthecar.
1. Press the [ ]button(2sec.)toturnothe
power.
2. Depress the [OPEN]buttontounlockthe
DCP.
3. Grabtheedgethatpopsoutandremove
the DCP.
1. Hold the DCP and ensure that the panel
facestowardsyou.Settherightsideofthe
DCPintotheDCPbracket.
2. Press the left side of the DCP until it locks.
HoldtheDCP,intheorientationasshownin
thegurebelow,andputitintothesupplied

any roughness from the edge of the disc.

CAUTION
Before turning o the unit, return the
volume to a lower level. Restarting
playback with the volume at maximum
increases the possibility of damage to the
speakers or your hearing.
Power on/o
Notes:
• Starttheenginebeforeusingthisunit.
• Becarefulaboutusingthisunitforalong
timewithoutrunningtheengine.Ifyou
drainthecar’sbatterytoofar,youmaynot
beabletostarttheengineandthiscan
reducetheservicelifeofthebattery.

2. When some devices are not ready, they

Auto store
Onlystationswithsucientsignalstrength

start automatic station search.
Tostopautostore,pressotherbuttonshaving

1. After auto store, the previous stored
stationswillbeoverwritten.

ASfunction.Eachbandscanstoresix
stations, CZ500 can store 24 stations in
total.
Manual store
While tuned into a desired radio station, press
andholdnumberbutton1–6tostoreitinthe
memory.

Recall the stored stations
Pressonenumericbuttonamong1to6on
the panel or the remote control to select the
corresponding stored station.
Local seeking
WhenLOCALseekingison,onlythose
radiostationswithstrongradiosignalcanbe
received.
Press and hold the [D]buttononthe
front panel, then press the [ ]button
repeatedlyuntilLOorDXdisplaysonthe
screen,androtatetheknobtoselectLocalor
Distant mode.
Note:
Thenumberofradiostationsthatcanbe
receivedwilldecreaseafterthelocalseeking
mode is on.
Preset scan
Preset scan receives the stations stored
in preset memory in order. This function is
usefulwhensearchingforadesiredstationin
memory.
1. Press the [PS/AS]button.
2. When a desired station is tuned in, press
the [PS/AS]buttonagaintocontinue
receiving that station.
Note:
Be careful not to press and hold the [PS/AS]
buttonfortwosecondsorlonger,otherwise
the auto store function is engaged and the
unit starts storing stations.

Code
Before you listen to satellite radio, you must
subscribetotheserviceusingyourradio’s
identicationnumber.TodisplaytheradioID,
use the [ ]tuningbuttontotunetochannel
“000”.ThescreendisplaystheradioIDwhere
the channel name is usually displayed.
Check XM tuner
IfXMtunerisnotconnected,“XMTUNER”
willappearontheLCD.
Select a band
Press the [BAND]buttontochangebetween
threeSATbands(SAT1,SAT2andSAT3).
Eachbandstoresuptosixpresetstations.
Selecting a station
Press the [ ] or [ ]tuningbuttontotune
to another station.

panel to select the desired channel, and

the remote control to select the channel

Category search
To access Category Search mode, press the

select the desired category, and press the

2. Thelistofavailablecategoriesappears

3. The list of stations in the selected category
appears on the screen. Rotate the

About HD Radio
technology
HDRadiotechnologyallowsCD-qualitydigital
broadcastingofyourlocalAMandFMradio
stations.HDRadiobroadcastscaninclude
multiplechannelsonthesamefrequency,
whichiscalledmulticasting.Withmulticasting,
you can receive up to eight additional
multicastchannels:HD1–HD8.
With an HD Radio tuner connected, you
willreceiveHDRadiodigitalbroadcasts
automaticallywhentunedtoastationthat
oersHDRadiotechnology.
NOTE: Not all FM or AM stations oer
HD Radio (digital) broadcasting. You can
receive both analog and digital stations
with the unit.
Accessing radio mode
Press the [SRC]buttononthefrontpanelor
remotecontroltoswitchtotheRADIOsource,
andHDicomwilllightwhenaTHD300is
connected.
Select a band
Press the [BAND]buttontochangebetween
threeFMandoneAMbands.Eachband
stores up to six preset stations.
Tuning
- Seek Tuning
Press and hold the [ ] or [ ]buttonto
seek the next/previous station automatically.
- Manual Tuning
Press the [ ] or [ ]buttontomovethe

To tune to an HD Radio multicast channel,
tune to the main signal and then press the

rotating the [VOLUME]knobandpressit.

Preset stations
Uptosixstationsoneachbandcanbe
storedaspresets,whichcanthenbeinstantly
recalledbypressingtheassociatedpreset
button.Tostoreastation,turntheradioon
andselectthedesiredbandandstation.
Pressandholdthedesiredpresetbutton
(numberedonethroughsixonthefaceofthe
radioorremotecontrol)formorethantwo
seconds.Whenstored,thepresetnumber
willappearinthedisplay.Thestationisnow
storedandcanberecalledbypressingthe
correspondingpresetbutton.Repeatforthe
remainingvepresetsonthecurrentband
andforpresetsontheotherfourbands.
NOTE: Multicast stations can be stored as
presets, but the unit must be in Digital or
Auto reception mode to receive them.
Preset scan
Press the [PS/AS]buttontoscanandplayall
preset stations for 10 seconds each. Press
the [PS/AS]buttonagaintostopscanning
and play the current station.
Automatic store (AS)
Press and hold the [PS/AS]buttontoselect
six strong stations and store them in the
currentbandusingtheautostorefunction.
After entering the stations into memory, the
unitwillautomaticallystopateachstationfor
veseconds,allowingyoutoprevieweach
selection. When using the auto store function,
thenewstationsreplaceanystationsalready
stored in preset memory.
NOTE:
Youcanstoptheautostorefunctionatany
timebypressingthe[PS/AS]buttonagain.

buttonontheunit.Propertaggingdepends
verymuchongoodradioreception.Ifthe
receptionispoor,taggingwillbeaected.
“STORE##/64”willappearinthedisplay.The
song information is saved to the unit memory
untilaniPodisconnected.Youcantagupto
64songsbeforethetagsmustbetransferred
to an iPod or deleted. When the Tag memory
reachescapacity(64tags)thebottomofthe

Downloading tags to your iPod
TodownloadtagstoyouriPod,pluganiPod
into the unit. All existing tags are automatically
transferred to the iPod and deleted from the
headunit’smemory.IfaniPodisconnected
whenasongistagged,theTagwillbe
immediately transferred to the iPod.
Note:
When transferring Tags to an iPod, the unit
must remain in Radio mode. To purchase
tagged songs, you must sync your iPod to
iTunes and then click the “Tagged” list on the
leftsideoftheiTunessoftwarescreen.Click
the“View”buttonforpurchasinginformation.

Bluetoothallowsyoutoutilizeyourcar’sbuilt-
inaudiosystemforwirelessmobilephone
or music handsfree communication. Some
Bluetoothmobilephoneshavetheaudio
features,andsomeportableaudioplayers
support Bluetooth. This system can play audio
data stored in a Bluetooth audio device. A car
stereowithBluetoothinstalledwillbeableto
retrievephonebookcontacts,receivedcalls,
dialed calls, missed calls, incoming calls,
outgoing calls and listen to music.
Notes:
• DonotplacetheBluetoothhandsfree
microphonewhereitwillbedirectly
aectedbyblowingairsuchasinfrontof
air conditioning vents. This may cause a
malfunction.
• Leavingitexposedtohightemperatures
or direct sunlight can cause distortion

What is audio streaming?
Audiostreamingisatechniquefortransferring
audiodatasuchthatitcanbeprocessedas
a steady and continuous stream. Users can
stream music from their external audio player
totheircarstereowirelesslyandlistentothe
tracksthroughthecar’sspeakers.Please
consult your nearest Clarion dealer for more
informationonwirelessaudiostreaming
transmitterproductsoered.
CAUTION
Please avoid operating your connected
mobile phone while audio streaming as
this may cause noise or sound choppy
during the song playback.
Audio streaming may or may not resume
after telephone interrupt as this is
dependent on mobile phone.
System will always return to Radio mode
if audio streaming is disconnected.
Note:
Besuretoreadthesection“Pairing”before
proceeding.
Play/Pause a track
1. Press the [ 4 / ]buttontopauseaudio
playback.

etc.)cannotbedisplayedonthisunit.
When A2DP device is disconnected, “BT
DISCONNECT”willbeshownonthedisplay
and return to previously selected audio
source. Some Bluetooth audio players may
nothaveplay/pausesynchronizedwiththis
unit.Pleasemakesurebothdeviceandmain
unit are in the same play/pause status in BT
MUSICmode.
