Topreventnetworkeavesdropping,therootpasswordcanbesetviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,whichrequiresanHTTPS
certicate.HTTPS(HypertextTransferProtocoloverSSL)isaprotocolusedtoencrypttrafcbetweenwebbrowsersandservers.The

Thedefaultadministratorusernamerootispermanentandcannotbedeleted.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,theproductmustbe

Atemporarycerticate(validforoneyear)iscreated,enablingencryptionofalltrafctoandfromtheproduct,andthe
passwordcannowbesetsecurely.
2.Enterapasswordandthenre-enterittoconrmthespelling.
3.ClickOK.Thepasswordhasnowbeencongured.

Beforeyoucanmanagethedoors,thehardwaremustbeconguredintheHardwareCongurationpages.
Doors,locksandotherdevicescanbeconnectedtotheAxisproductbeforecompletingthehardwareconguration.However,the
connectionofdeviceswillbeeasierifyoucompletethehardwarecongurationrst.Thisisbecausethehardwarepinchartwillbe
availablewhenthecongurationiscomplete.Thehardwarepinchartisaguideonhowtoconnectthepinsandcanbeusedas
areferencesheetformaintenance.
