In This Guide
This guide contains instructions for installing the Keysight MXR2RACK Rack
Mount Kit for MXR-Series Oscilloscopes. The rack mount kit provides a support
shelf and hardware for mounting Infiniium MXR-Series oscilloscopes into
Electronic Industries Association (EIA) standard 19-inch (487-mm) rack cabinets.
Included Parts
The rack mount kit includes the following parts:
• Support tray (54925-00411)
• Trim plates:
• Bottom trim plate (54925-24112)
• Top trim plate (54925-24111)
• Two side trim plates (54925-24113)
• BNC connectors to be inserted into the bottom trim plate (1250-2199)
• Black rubber stoppers to plug holes in bottom trim plate if the hole is not being
used for a BNC connection (6960-0041)
• Two track rails (54925-03711)
• Two clamp brackets (54925-01211)
• Top clamp bracket (R) (54925-01212)
• Top clamp bracket (L) (54925-01213)
• Sheet metal nuts (0590-0804)
• Four sets of screws:
• Gray-colored pan head screws for attaching the trim plate pieces
(3030-1768)
• Metallic pan head screws for attaching the side rails to the rack (3030-1782)
• Metallic M4 screws for attaching the feet brackets to the support tray and
top brackets to the oscilloscope (0515-0435)
• Set of M4 screws for attaching the feet brackets to the oscilloscope

Installation
The following tools are required for installing the rackmount kit:
• T20 Torx driver
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
Preparing the Rack
1 To prepare the rack for sheet metal nut installation, eight rack mount units
must be designated for use. The following diagram shows how to determine a
rack unit.

2 Attach 12 nuts, 0590-0804, to test rack as shown in the following figures:

3 Attach the track rails, 54925-03711, to test rack using screws, 3030-1782.

Installing the Oscilloscope into the Rack
1 Facing the back of the oscilloscope, remove screw on top left side:
2 Attach the Top Clamp Bracket (R), 54925-01212 with a 0515-0435 screw.
3 Facing the back of the oscilloscope, remove screw on top right side:

4 Attach Top Clamp Bracket (L), 54925-01213 with 0515-0435 screw.
5 Remove the screws above the back feet from both bottom sides of the
oscilloscope.

6 Place the oscilloscope on top of the support tray, 54925-00411.
Make sure the stoppers on the support tray fit into the slots of both bottom rear
feet.

7 To have front access to the oscilloscope’s rear panel I/Os, route BNC cables
underneath the oscilloscope. Also, route the MSO cable underneath the
oscilloscope if you need to access to the MSO cables from the front.
8 Attach the clamp brackets, 54925-01211, to the support tray, 54925-00411,
using screws 0515-0435 at both sides.

9 Attach the clamp brackets, 54925-01211 to the oscilloscope using screws,
0515-0436 at both sides.
10 Slide the support tray (with the oscilloscope) into the test rack on the rails.
Ensure tabs on the support tray are underneath rails.

11 Attach BNC connectors, 1250-2199, to Bottom Trim Plate, 54925-24112.
Cover unused holes with Plug, 6960-0041.
12 Connect BNC cables to connector and route MSO cable through cable slot on
bottom trim plate.

13 Attach Bottom Trim Plate to test rack using screws, 3030-1768.
