OFFICIAL
September 2004
BreezeACCESS LB
Software Version 1.32
Release Note Page 2 of 3
Introduction
BreezeACCESS LB software version 1.32 and LB NI-01 Indoor Unit (IDU) hardware revision B1
are officially released.
This document describes the differences in hardware and software with software release 1.32 for
point-to-point deployment.
Software version 1.32 supports the following products LB 5810, 5820, 5830 and 5840.
New Features
Ethernet Mode
The LB system has selectable operating modes for the Ethernet port:
Auto - Auto-negotiate the speed connection speed.
10 - Operate at 100Base-T only.
100 - Operate at 100Base-T only.
HD - Operate at half-duplex only.
FD - Operate in full-duplex only.
RF Frequency (MHz)
The RF center frequency now can be entered in 5 MHz steps (ie.5795)
Auto Scan
Check the Auto Scan tick box to enable the remote-end system to automatically scan for the
transmitting frequency of the Master-end system (Master Mode enabled). This function is
supported on systems running release 1.32 or higher.
Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS)
The system operating in master mode monitors for interference from radar devices and other
equipment using the same channel frequency. When interference is detected, the system will
automatically take the action selected in the configuration settings. Supported only in LB NI-01
Indoor Unit (IDU) hardware revision B1.
Important: DFS Action selection should be set to None
where DFS function is not required by
regional regulations. DFS cannot be disabled where required by regional regulations.
Automatic Transmit Power Control (ATPC)
When ATPC is enabled on the system operating in master mode, both units local and remote
will automatically adjust the Tx power levels based on feedback received from the system at
the other end of the link.
Ethernet LEDs
The Ethernet portion of the front panel display has three LEDs as shown below.
Link/Act LED
The Link/Act LED lights solid green when the Local Area Network (LAN) connection is
established, and there is no traffic. The Link LED will flash when the Local Area
Network (LAN) connection is established, and there is traffic.
100 LED
The 100 lights solid green when the Ethernet port is operating at 100 Mb/s. The LED
will not illuminate if the port is operating in 10 Mb/s mode. The Ethernet port

automatically selects the speed through auto-negotiation with either the host
computer/server or router/switch.
FD/Col LED
The FD/Col LED lights solid green when the LAN connection is operating in Full
Duplex mode and flashes when collisions are detected on the Ethernet port.
Compatibility and Interoperability
LB IDU H/W version B1 must
have Software Release 1.32 or Higher
The LB IDU hardware version B1 is not compatible with any software release prior to
version 1.32.
LB software version 1.32 Option Key must be Entered Prior to Operation
For any LB system having software release 1.32 or higher installed, an options key
must be entered before operating the system. Prior to entering the key, the system will
be unable to establish the wireless link. Contact the technical support department for
instructions on how to obtain the options key.
Master Setting must be Configured Prior to Operation
The LB software version 1.32 is over-the-air compatible with LB systems running
release 1.21 software. All PTP links that include at least one system running software
release 1.32 or higher must be configured with one of the two systems configured as
‘master’.
Important: Only one
LB system in a wireless link must be set for 'master' mode.
Each release 1.32 point-to-point link is comprised of a master-end LB system and a
remote-end LB system. The master-end system establishes and manages the bi-
directional data link with the remote-end system. The remote-end system receives and
sends data under the control of the master-end system.
The Master selection is available in the web interface Configure System screen. Check
the Master tick box to configure a system to operate as the master system (base
stations). Uncheck the Master tick box to configure the second system to operate as
the remote-end (subscriber station).
MIB Updated
An updated MIB file has been released to support these features.
Document update
Manuals were updated to reflect the new features.
