Quick Start Guide
The following Quick Start Guide is intended to provide basic assistance when
operating the Pick-a-Point Icon system.
Refer to the Pick-a-Point Operation Manual for detailed guidance.
Pick-a-Point Icon is designed to simplify the control of cameras and ancillary devices
in medium to large CCTV systems.
The bespoke system, with customer specic maps, is designed to meet the exact
operational requirements of the user.
The keyboard and joystick control offers a familiar environment for operators;
eliminating the retraining requirement associated with PC based systems. The
integrated touch screen keyboard provides intuitive camera selection and joystick
telemetry control. The powerful graphical user interface (GUI) allows quick menu
navigation. Operators can simply pick and click cameras to view the
required images.
The system is congured and commissioned on site by a Dedicated Micros
technician (or appointed individual). Custom maps are added to suit the users
requirements. Graphical representation of the sites being monitored can be used in
conjunction with camera icons and hotspots.
Combined with Dedicated Micros’ world leading NetVu Connected technology, the
Pick-a-Point system offers a powerful networked monitoring solution.
More information is available from the Dedicated Micros Website.

To display camera images, select a camera hotspot from the currently
displayed map.
Live images from the chosen camera will be displayed on the associated monitor.
The hotspot icon will appear red.
Monitor Conguration
All connected cameras can be assigned to a specic monitor. The monitor can be
congured to display camera images in Single, Quad (4-way), 12-way or

To congure a monitor layout, use the monitor toolbar on the right of the screen. All
available monitor outputs will be displayed.
Note: The monitor outputs available will depend on your

For example, select ‘Quad’ to display a monitor image split into 4 segments (as

To assign a camera to a segment, select the hotspot for the camera you wish to
display in the rst segment (upper left quadrant). Then select the camera image you
wish display in the second segment (upper right quadrant). Repeat for the third and
