The function package UE 4100 for S 3000 expands the range of functions of the CDS on
the operation of the bus node UE 4155 with the safety laser scanner S 3000. The function
package enables the so-called cross-routing (signal allocation from the field-signal connec-
tions to the SDL connections). You can, e.g., forward the input signal for a safety input
(In A, In B) to the safety input on a S 3000 connected to the SDL connection.
WARNING
!"#!$"%&
If, with the aid of the function package, cross-routing of a field signal input directly to the
corresponding input on the S 3000 has been configured in the bus node, then the cross-
routing has priority over the FPLC output signal. I.e. the bus node does not route the cor-
responding output signal from the FPLC on to the S 3000.
In the CDS, the pre-configured applications from this function package can be recog-
nized by means of the prefix S 3000:.
When selecting a pre-configured application, note that a safety laser scanner S 3000
must exist in the current CDS project.
If an S 3000 is connected to each of the two SDL connections, then after the selection
of the application you must define the signal destination to which the bus node is to
route the output signal, or define the signal source from which the bus node is to read
the input signal.
You will find a description of the functions possible when the function package is used
in the operating instructions “S 3000 Safety Laser Scanner” and in the online help for
the safety laser scanner S 3000.
You will find detailed information on the process images in the operating instructions
“UE 4100 PROFIsafe Bus Node”.
The available pre-configured applications are described in the following sections.

You can realise monitoring case switching with up to eight monitoring cases using the bus
node field signal connections. In this application, one channel on a field signal connection
corresponds to exactly one monitoring case. For the application Monitoring case switching
1 of 8 you will need e.g. four field-signal connections.
The number of defined monitoring cases must match the number of monitoring cases
defined for the S 3000.
You must always connect the monitoring case switching to field signal connections in
sequence, starting with channel A for the first field signal connection used. Example:
Monitoring case switching 1 of 3 on field signal connection 5, channel A and B and on
field signal connection 6, channel A.
You can set the input delay only for channel A on the first of the field signal connections
used. The values then apply for all further field signal connections used by the monitor-
ing case switching.
If you want to use fewer field signal connections, then you can also realise the monitor-
ing case switching with application Monitoring case switching complementary n times
(see section 1.2 on page 6).
If an S 3000 is connected to each of the two SDL connections, then after the selection
of the application you must define the signal destination to which the bus node is to
route the output signal. Here you can also enter two SDL connections as the signal
destination.

Using the bus node field signal connections, you can realise monitoring case switching
with up to 16 monitoring cases.
You can connect a complementary signal pair on each of up to four field connections in
sequence on the bus node. The bus node monitors that the signal pair is complementary.
The bus node transmits the status of channel A and channel B in the process image. If the
bus node's complementary test detects an error, the bus node transmits the value 0 on
both channels in the process image. You can evaluate the result from all channels in the
FPLC and thus differentiate between the monitoring cases. With four input signals, there
are thus 2^4 = 16 possible monitoring cases.

The S 3000 can signal the operational status Reset required. You can make this signal
available at the bus node.
If an S 3000 is connected to each of the two SDL connections, then after the selection of
the application you must define the signal source from which the bus node is to read the
input signal.
