INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR
POLISHED BRASS HOOD ACCESSORY
Model GA6017: Fits FBPS and FGPN Peninsula Series
NOTE:
Read this entire instruction sheet before installing the fireplace hood. If
the hood is damaged, contact the dealer where you purchased this accessory or
DESA International at 1-800-972-7879 for referral information.
NOTICE:
Before replacing an existing hood on your firebox, be sure
the gas log heater is turned off and the hood has had time to cool. The
hood becomes very hot when the firebox is in use.
REMOVING EXISTING FIREBOX HOOD:
1. Remove the existing hood from your
LogMate Firebox by using a Phillips
Head screwdriver to remove the seven
screws securing the hood to the firebox
(
see Figure 1
). Save the screws.
INSTALLING FIREBOX HOOD
1. Remove the protective wax paper from
the brass hood.
2. Mount the brass hood to your firebox by
aligning the holes in the hood with the
holes in the top of the firebox opening.
Hold the hood in place. Use the Phillips
Head screws to secure the hood to the
firebox (
see Figure 1
).

WARNING
The GA6017 hood may only be used on firebox model FBPS. This hood may
not be used on any other firebox.
