1 Introduction
1.1 Intended use
The charging station is intended solely for charging the WM 45045
battery pack rechargeable battery.
1.2 Contraindications
There are no known contraindications.
1.3 Side effects
There are no known side effects.
2 Safety
The instructions for use form part of the device. If the instructions
for use and the following safety information are not fully complied
with, the treatment may fail or be compromised. This could cause
severe or life-threatening injuries to the patient, user or
bystanders.
Fully comply with the instructions for use.
Keep the instructions for use with the device so that they can
be accessed at any time.
Only use the device as defined by the intended use
(see „1.1 Intended use“, page4).
Do not use the device in the event of contraindications.
Follow the instructions for use for the components and
accessories.

Safety
2.1 Safety information
2.1.1 Safe use of the charging station
Warning Risk of injury if the charging station is used in damp or
electrically conductive surroundings!
Using the charging station in damp or electrically conductive
surroundings or outdoors may result in an electric shock and injury
to the user.
Only use the charging station in a dry place.
Only use the charging station in surroundings that are not
electrically conductive.
Protect the charging station from the ingress of liquids.
Only use the charging station indoors.
2.1.2 Power supply
Warning Reduced operational readiness caused by defective power
cord or power supply unit and charger!
A defective power cord or power supply unit and charger will
prevent the battery from being charged in the charging station,
which means that the equipment powered by the battery will not
be ready to use.
Check the power cord and power supply unit and charger
regularly.
Risk of injury from electric shock!
The contacts in the battery compartment are live. Touching the
contacts may cause electric shock and injure the user.
Do not touch the contacts in the battery compartment.
Caution Risk of injury due to trailing power cord!
A trailing power cord is a trip hazard, which may cause injury and
interrupt operation of the device being used.
During line operation, position the power cord so that there is
no danger of tripping over it.

2.2 General instructions
If third-party items are used, malfunctions may occur and
fitness for use may be restricted. Biocompatibility requirements
may also not be met. Please note that in such cases, any
warranty claim and liability will be voided if neither the
accessories recommended in the instructions for use nor
genuine replacement parts are used.
Repairs, servicing and maintenance should only be carried out
by the manufacturer WEINMANN Emergency.
Modifications to the charging station should only be carried
out by the manufacturer WEINMANN Emergency.
Please observe the section on hygienic reprocessing in order to
avoid infection or bacterial contamination (see „5 Hygienic
reprocessing“, page17).
2.3 Warnings in this document
Warnings are used to flag up safety-relevant information.
You will find a warning preceding any action that entails a hazard
for persons or equipment.
Warnings consist of
the warning symbol (pictogram),
a signal word designating the hazard level,
information about the hazard and
instructions for avoiding the hazard.

degree of danger:

DANGER indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will
result in death or serious injury.
WARNING!
WARNING indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION!
CAUTION indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,
could result in minor or moderate injury.
NOTICE!
NOTICE indicates information considered important, but not
hazard-related (e.g., messages related to damage to property or
the environment).
Designates useful information relating to a particular action.

Description
The charging station has a window on the front, through which
the charge level display on the battery is visible. This enables the
battery charge status to be checked directly on the battery itself
whilst it is being charged in the charging station.

4 Preparation and operation
4.1 Installing the charging station on the
wall
1. Position the charging station with its back against a wall so that
the opening of the battery compartment is facing to the right
or left.
2. Screw the charging station onto the wall with 3 screws and
3 washers (maximum insertion depth 6 mm)
When doing so, note: The screws must be securely tightened.
Result The charging station is installed firmly on the wall.
Risk of injury from incorrectly installed charging station!
If the charging station is installed incorrectly, the charging station
may come loose from the wall or the battery may fall out.
Position the charging station correctly and fasten.

4.2 Mobile operation of the charging
station
1. Adhere the rubber bases to the back of the charging station.
2. Lay the charging station on a flat surface.
Result The charging station is used as a mobile (e.g. table-top) unit.
4.3 Connecting the charging station
supply to the line power
1. Remove the cap from the power connection.
2. Connect the power supply unit and charger WM 28937 to the
power connection.
3. Connect the power supply unit and charger to the line power.
Result The charging station is connected to the line power. The green
power indicator on the charging station is lit.

4.4 Connecting the charging station to a
12 V on-board power supply
1. Remove the cover cap on the back of the charging station.
2. Pull the 12 V power cord out of the charging station.
3. Remove the insulation sleeves.
4. Close off the cable entries with a liquid adhesive to prevent the
12 V power cord from slipping back into the charging station,
and to prevent ingress of dirt and water.
5. Connect the red wire of the 12 V power cord to the positive
terminal of the 12 V on-board power supply in the vehicle.

6. Connect the black wire of the 12 V power cord to the negative
terminal of the 12 V on-board power supply in the vehicle.
Result The charging station is connected to the 12 V on-board power
supply in the vehicle. The green power indicator on the charging
station is lit.
4.5 Charging the battery in the charging
station
1. Slide the battery into the charging station until it audibly clicks
into place.
Charging starts automatically if the following conditions are met:
External power supply with at least 12 V to 15.1 V connected
Battery is not already fully charged (< 95% charge level)
Battery temperature between 0°C and 45°C
The battery’s charge level LED flashes green during the
charging procedure.
2. If the charge level LEDs lights up green continuously: unlock
the battery and remove it from the charging station.
Result The battery is fully charged.

Hygienic reprocessing
5 Hygienic reprocessing
5.1 General instructions
Use suitable gloves for disinfection work (e.g., household or
disposable gloves).
Please refer to the instructions for use supplied with the
disinfectant used.
5.2 Intervals
Clean the charging station as and when necessary.
5.3 Hygienic preparation of the charging
station
1. Disconnect the charging station from the line power.
2. Remove the battery.
Risk of infection resulting from insufficient hygienic
reprocessing!
If the charging station and accessories are not hygienically
reprocessed correctly or at all, they may cause infection if they
come into contact with the skin, which may cause serious or life-
threatening injury to the patient or the user. Furthermore, the
charging station and accessories may be damaged.
Carry out hygienic reprocessing of the charging station and
accessories after every use.
When hygienically reprocessing the charging station and
accessories, use only the recommended cleaning agents and
disinfectants.
Follow the instructions for use of the cleaning agents and
disinfectants used.

Faults

If you are not able to clear an error message with the aid of the
table, you should contact the manufacturer
WEINMANN Emergency or a technician specifically authorized by
WEINMANN Emergency to have the charging station repaired. To
avoid serious damage, do not continue using the charging station.
