Precautions for installation
• Semi-outdoor units are not intended for outdoor use.
Applying additional means of waterproong and cooling does not prevent
the product from overheating and malfunctioning when used in an
outdoor environment, which will not be covered by the warranty.
• Do not install this product near machinery that works with oil. Oil mist may
cause fans to malfunction.
Rotation and tilt angle
– Contact Samsung Customer Service Centre for further details.

angles up to 15°from a wall surface.

Clearance for installation
Clearance for installation by windows
When installing a semi-outdoor unit near windows, maintain the clearance in order to secure air flow.
• Clearance from windows (A): 100 mm or more
• Clearance from the ceiling (B): 300 mm or more
• Clearance from the floor (C): 100 mm or more
• Keep the ambient temperature at 0 - 30 °C, clear of obstacles that may affect air flow.
– If the unit is subjected to excess heat due to an insufficient gap, this may cause a malfunction, which will not be
covered by the warranty.
– The product may overheat when used with an enclosure unit. Make sure to contact Samsung for guidance in
using enclosure units.

Installation requirements for wall mounting
A - at least 60 mm
B (ambient temperature measuring point) - below 30 °C
– When mounting to a wall surface, the clearance between the product and the wall should
be at least 60 mm at all times and the ambient temperature should not be exceed 30 °C.

Air flow direction
The semi-outdoor unit uses cooling fans to take in outside air to lower the internal temperature and discharge the hot air.
– When installing a semi-outdoor unit, remove any obstacles near the air inlet and outlet that may affect air flow.

– Do not use the louver type as it has a limited intake size.

Vent opening design guide
Follow the guide when combining the semi-outdoor unit with the enclosure unit.
– If the instructions provided in this guide are not observed, the cooling system may not work properly and may cause
a malfunction, which will not be covered by warranty.
– The ventilation opening ratio should be minimum 50 %.
– Calculating the total area of the ventilation and ventilation opening ratio
Total area of the ventilation: 181 x 89 = 16,109 mm⁲
Total open area of the ventilation holes: 20 x 20 x 32 = 12,800 mm⁲

Partition design guide
• For semi-outdoor units, add partitions between the inlet and outlet to keep air paths separated.
• Partitions should fit perfectly inside the enclosure unit, with no gap between the semi-outdoor unit and enclosure
unit. If there is a gap, use a foam tape to fill it.

Single enclosure unit
When using with the enclosure unit, design the semi-outdoor unit according to the following specifications to prevent
discharged hot air from flowing back into the inlet.
• Design the locations of the enclosure unit inlet and outlet to match the locations of the semi-outdoor unit inlet and outlet.
• Allow clearance of 60 mm or more between the product and the enclosure unit.

When designing the 1 x N one-side enclosure unit, add partitions between the products to keep the air paths separated.
– Refer to the “Vent opening design guide”. (Page 6)
– Make sure there is no gap between the partitions and the enclosure unit.
– Contact Samsung and guide when designing an N x M one-side enclosure unit.

Before installing brackets
• Perform the below steps before installing the product.
Installing the top cover

Install HOLDER-GUIDE x 2.

Place the top cover.

Insert the power cord into
the power IN rubber and
connect the power cord.

Securely position the
external IR cable and the
external ambient light
sensor at the specied
location.

Connect cables, e.g.
external IR cable, power
cord, HDMI cable, and
organize them as shown
in the image.
Removing handles

Remove the handles from
both sides of the product.
– Remove the screw caps
found at the marked
locations before
installing on the ceiling
or with the stand.

the screw holes and fasten
them.

Checking the display direction
• Make sure that the “OUTDOOR” mark is facing the window.

– The outdoor display may not be able to connect to your wired network when used alone with the indoor display
turned off. Turn the indoor display on or set the Network Standby of the indoor display to On before use.
– The protruded part of the Wifi-Module (A) indicates the display direction. (INDOOR direction: left, OUTDOOR
direction: right)
Setting up Device ID
OMN-D model has separate remote sensors on the front and back sides.
Depending on the distance from the remote control or other surrounding conditions, it is possible both front and back
displays respond to the remote control signal. You can assign IDs to displays (INDOOR: 1, OUTDOOR: 2) and follow the
steps below to restrict remote control to one selected display only.
– To reverse the remote controlled display after setting otherwise, first cancel the existing ID settings for the INDOOR
and OUTDOOR displays by pressing the UNSET button.
• To select the INDOOR display only
1) Position the remote control facing the INDOOR IR sensor and press SET → 1 → E on the control.
2) Position the remote control facing the OUTDOOR IR sensor and press SET → 1 → E on the control.
• To select the OUTDOOR display only
1) Position the remote control facing the INDOOR IR sensor and press SET → 2 → E on the control.
2) Position the remote control facing the OUTDOOR IR sensor and press SET → 2 → E on the control.
