Coats Kit 85608163 Inflation Cage Bracket Operating instructions

  • Hello! I've reviewed the instructions for the COATS ProGuard Tire Changer Bracket Kit 85608163, which is designed for use with the COATS EL-X Express Lane Inflation System. The document also mentions the Tire Inflation Cage Kit 85607770. This guide outlines the process for installing the bracket kit and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a safe distance around the tire inflation cage. I am ready to answer your questions about the installation and safety procedures.
  • What should be done before starting the modification?
How should the cage bracket be attached to the machine tower?
What type of screws and nuts should be used to fasten the cage bracket to the inflation cage?
How much clear space should be provided between the Tire Inflation Cage and walls?

Instructions
Before beginning this modification or attempting
any maintenance, remove the electrical power and air
source from the machine; also, bleed off any stored
compressed air by exhausting through the air blast foot
valve.
1. At tower remove two screws and reserve the
hardware.
2. Position cage bracket at tower and use reserved
screws to fasten cage bracket to machine tower, then
secure.
3. Use two 3/8-16 x 7/8 inch HSWF screws and two
3/8-16 UNC nuts to fasten cage bracket to inflation
cage, then secure.
4. Refer to the Tire Inflation Cage Kit 85607770
instructions for its attachment and setup procedure.
5. Reconnect the air and electric supply to the
machine. Test the machine for full function before
returning the machine to operation.
Location of Tire Inflation Cage
Provide at least three feet of clear space between
the Tire Inflation Cage and building walls. When a tire
fails, the explosive release of air will throw all movable
objects in the path of the expanding compressed air.
