Chapter 1
Compaq ProLiant CL380 Features
The Compaq ProLiantâ„¢ CL380 provides the easiest and most affordable
clustering solution for business-critical applications. This robust system is easy
to deploy, operate, and maintain, which makes it an ideal solution for branch
offices or remote sites.
Compaq ProLiant CL380
The Compaq ProLiant CL380 consists of two Compaq server nodes and
shared storage prepackaged in a cost-effective, space-efficient cabinet. This
design offers the outstanding performance of the latest Intel Pentium III
processors and more than 200 GB of internal storage, and integrates with
standard Compaq software, such as Compaq Insight Managerâ„¢,
SmartStartâ„¢, and Automatic Server Recovery (ASR), for ease of installation
and monitoring.
Through the use of redundancy and cluster failover, the ProLiant CL380 can
be configured to eliminate virtually all single points of failure, allowing the
system to continue to run in the event of a hardware or software failure. This
capability, plus the ability to remotely monitor the status of the system,
enables the ProLiant CL380 to be operated with confidence in an environment
with little or no technical support.
