is carefully compressed
butdonotovertightenthe

3. Completetheplumbingof
thehotandcoldsupplyto
thetap.
ALTERNATIVEMETHODOFSEALING
1. Applysiliconesealant(notsupplied)totheundersideof
thesinkrim,asshowning.5.
2. Removesurplussealantfromaroundthesinkusingadamp
cloth.
NOTE: During installation care should be taken to ensure
the sinkisprotectedfromscuffsandscratches.Strainingand
overtighteningofallplumbingxturesconnectedtothesink
shouldbeavoided.Installersshouldcarefullycheckthatthe
mouldingandtheedgesof thesinkaredeadlevel sothat
waterwillowoffthedrainer.

PREPARINGTHEWORKTOP
1. Itisrecommendedthattheinsetsinkisttedtotheworktop
beforebeingpermanentlyxedtothecabinet.
2. Placethesinkupsidedownonworktop.Positionthesink
relativetotheworktopasrequired,ensuringthatthecabinet
frameworkwillbeclearofallpartsofthesink.
Withasharpsoftpencildrawroundsinkasaccuratelyas
possible.Seeg.1.
3. Remove the sink and draw another line 10mm inside
theout-lineofthesinktop.Thisisthecuttinglineforthe
aperture.
4. Drillaslargeaholeaspossibleinsidethecuttingline.Using
apadsaw,jigsaworsimilar,cutouttheaperture.Atthis
pointwewouldrecommendthattheworktopapertureis
sealed.Todothispaintoverwithap.v.a.adhesive,paint,
varnishorsmearwithsiliconesealant.
PREPARINGTHESINK
1. Ifatapholeisrequired,buthasnotbeensuppliedinthe
sink,proceedasfollows.
Decidewhetherthebowlistobeontheleftorrighthand
whenthesink istted.Cut theappropriatetapholeinto
thesink.Todothisyouwillneedaholesawortankcutter
settocutouta35mmdiameterholeandapilotdrill.On
thereversesideofthesinkyouwillndalocationpoint
forthepilotdrillinthecentreofthetapcut-out.Drillout
thepilothole.TurnthesinkoverandcarefullydrilLcOt4he
tap-hole.

Anymachiningoperationwillproduceneparticlesofdust.
Drillingorcuttingmustbecarriedoutinawell-ventilated
area.

Congratulationsonpurchasingyournewsink.Vel-
straandNeostonearerevolutionarysinkmaterials
thatareextremelyrobustandhardwearing.How-
ever both materials will benet from a little care
andattentiontoensurelastinggoodlooksandper-
formance. Please read the following care advice
carefully.
Cleaning
Foreverydaycleaningadampclothwithordinary
washingupliquidwillsufce.Heavierstainingcan
beremovedwithacreamcleanere.g.Cifonadamp
cloth.Reallystubbornstainsshouldbetreatedto
anovernightsoakingindilutedbleach.Pleasedo
notuseabrasivepowdersorsteelscouringpads
as they may affect the surface gloss. Do not at-
tempttoremovelimescalebyscrapingit off,anap-
plicationofcitricacid(lemonjuice)should,withthe
helpofastiffbrush,removeanydeposits.Silver
streaksonthesurfaceofthesinkarecausedby
aluminiumutensilsandarenotscratches,theycan
beeasilyremovedwithacreamcleaner.
HeatResistance
Velstra and Neostone are highly resistant to ex-
tremesoftemperatureandwillwithstandhotpans
upto230°Cbutavoidpanscontainingveryhotoil
abovethistemperature.
ChemicalResistance
Velstra and Neostone are resistant to just about
any chemical found in the home, but be careful,
thesedayswastesystemsaremadefromplastic
materialswhichmaynotbe.Thecolouredwastes
suppliedasstandardwiththesink,aremadefrom
atoughplasticmaterialbutthesearenotresistant
tosomesolvents,especially nailvarnishremover,
acetoneandnitrothinners.
FurtherAdvice
Donotusethedrainerasachoppingboard.Ahard
woodchoppingboardorpolyethylenefoodboard
isavailableasanoptionalextra.
Avoidplasticwashingupbowls,theypickupne
particlesofgritwhichtransformsthemintoveryef-
cientgrindingsurfacescausingwearonyoursink.
Werecommendarubbermatinthiscase.

WeguaranteetoreplaceanyVelstraorNeostone
sinkthatbreaksduetomaterialormanufacturing
defectswithin20yearsfromthedateofpurchase.
The guarantee does not cover normal wear and
tearoccurringthroughuseoftheproduct.
