5. Before initial use
Before using the appliance for the first time and after each subsequent use, rinse
the blender jug, blade assembly, lid and lid cap thoroughly. Please also read section
“7. Cleaning the appliance on page 40.
NOTE
The appliance is driven by an electric motor. This can lead to a slight
smell during initial operation. This smell is normal and is not a sign of
malfunction. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
Fill the blender jug.
5.6.1. Attaching the lid
Place the lid onto the blender jug so that the catches on the lid engage with the
corresponding slots on the blender jug.
Twist the lid onto the blender jug until it closes tightly and the protrusion on the
lid is fully aligned with the handle on the blender jug. Only then will the safety
contact on the base allow operation.
Place the blender jug directly onto the drive shaft on the blender base.
NOTE
The blender cannot be operated if the blender jug is incorrectly fitted. If
incorrectly fitted, the safety contact on the housing edge would prevent
operation.
Connect the blender to an AC 220-240 V ~ 50/60Hz mains socket.
The blender is now ready for use.
6. Using the blender

jug without squashing.
Fill the blender jug.
Place the lid and lid cap on the blender jug.
ATTENTION!
Do not operate the blender for more than 3 minutes at a time.
Wait a few minutes for the appliance to cool before blending
again.
Select the appropriate speed from the following table based on the required use:
Speed level Food
1-3 Blending liquids
4-6 Blending liquids containing solid foods
If food sticks to the side of the jug (e.g. herbs or other wet food), switch the ap-
pliance off and dislodge the food with a flat spoon or spatula then pulse two or
three more times to chop them.
ATTENTION!
Do not overload the blender motor by adding large amounts
of frozen or very hard ingredients to the blender jug. If the mo-
tor does not run smoothly, switch the appliance off immediately
(speed control to position
0), disconnect from the mains and re-
move some ingredients from the blender jug.
In order to add more ingredients, remove the lid cap. You can now
add ingredients during operation. Use the pusher to push the ingredients down.
Do not forget to replace the lid cap after you have added the ingredients.

Set the on/off switch to the OFF position and disconnect the mains plug from
the socket.

Pulse mode
Use the pulse button to crush ice or chop solid foods. The pulse button must be
held down continually during operation.
NOTE
When chopping food, working in pulse mode will achieve the best re-
sults. Operating it for longer will chop the food too finely.
6.1. Crushing ice
Make sure the jug is clean before using the blender to crush ice. Rinse the blend-
er jug out thoroughly. Even the tiniest detergent residues can affect the taste of the
crushed ice.
Fill the blender jug with ice cubes.
Place the blender jug directly onto the drive shaft on the base.
Press the pulse button 3 to 4 times for a maximum of 15 seconds, leaving short

15.1.3. Service Hotline
Before sending the device to the warranty provider, you must contact us via the Ser-
vice Hotline or the Service Portal. This ensures that you receive further information
on how to make a valid claim under warranty.
The use of the hotline may be subject to a charge.
The Service Hotline should under no circumstances be considered a substitute for
user training for software and hardware or reading the manual , nor does it provide
support for third-party products.
15.2. Special warranty conditions for PC, notebook,
pocket PC (PDA), devices with navigation
functions (PNA), telephone devices, mobile
telephones and devices with a memory function
Should any of the supplied options (e.g. memory cards, etc.) have a fault, you are en-
titled to a repair or replacement. The warranty covers material and labour costs for
restoring the functionality of the product concerned.
The warranty can be invalidated if any damage to the product itself or the supplied
options results from the addition of any hardware to your product that is not produ-
ced or distributed by the warranty provider.
A limited warranty is provided for supplied software. This applies to a pre-installed
operating system and also to supplied programs. For software supplied with the de-
vice by the warranty provider, a warranty is issued that any data media, e.g. discs
and CD-ROMs on which the software is supplied, shall be free from faults in terms
of their materials and workmanship for a period of 90 days following purchase. In
the event of a faulty data medium being supplied, the warranty provider shall repla-
ce the faulty data medium free of charge; any further claims are excluded. Excluding
the warranty for data media, all software is supplied without warranty. Furthermore,
