1. Does the Cam era have a M ic Jack? is it 3.5m m ?
Check your cam era m odel to m ake sure it does have external M icrophone Jack, and it is 3.5m m .
otherw ise you w ill not be able to use external M ic.
2. Is there a m ic pow er on m enu in the cam era?
Check the Cam era M enu. Check the Cam era M enu.
As som e cam eras do not provide phantom pow er to the m icrophone unless you specify that in the m enu.
3. Does the cam era m enu gives option for recording from internal or external m ic?
Check the cam era M enu to m ake sure External M ic is selected.
4. Check the Plug.
you have to press the plug in pretty firm ly.
you m ight find around the plug-in-hole of the cam era there's also an annoying edge.

1. Dow nload Audacity (w w w.audacityteam .org)
2. After you install and run the softw are, plug in the USB Adapter, and plug the M ic to the USB.
3. Run Audacity and m ake sure under the M ic icon, chose USB M icrophone.
4. Click on the red button (Record) and check the recording activity, after finish, just stop and play back.

Possible Solutions:
1. Try different setups for the m icrophone to determ ine if it w as really the m icrophone problem , to do so:
A. Connect the M icrophone through USB adapter to your Laptop and record using Audacity.
B. Connect the M icrophone directly to your PC (if your PC does support M icrophone Jack)
C. Connect the M icrophone to your phone using the adapter included and record.
