Zurn 38-740F is a carbonated beverage backflow preventer with vent and integral strainer. It is designed for installation on carbonated beverage dispensing systems, as well as non-carbonated systems, to prevent carbon dioxide (CO2) gas or carbonated water from coming in contact with the copper potable water supply line. The integral strainer prevents debris from fouling checks. The 38-740F is made of stainless steel and has a maximum working water pressure of 150 PSI and a minimum working water pressure of 10 PSI.

Typical Installation
The Model 740 can be installed in the horizontal or vertical position. Under certain conditions the Model 740 may
discharge water from the vent port. Provisions must be made to ensure that discharge will not damage surrounding
property or equipment. Copper tubing shall not be used downstream of the Model 740.

The Carbonated Beverage Backflow Preventer shall be certified to NSF/ANSI 372, rated for 150 PSI. The body and
tailpiece shall be stainless steel, series 300, and the elastomers shall be Silicone and Buna Nitrile (FDA Approved).
The Carbonated Beverage Backflow shall include an integral stainless steel strainer screen. The Carbonated Beverage
Backflow Preventer shall be a ZURN Wilkins Model 740.
