About the Wireless LAN Function

Status Indication
This shows the wireless LAN status.
1. Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press the [AUDIO
PLAYER] button three times.
The display will indicate “S t S ,” and then the wireless status will
appear.
Display Explanation
Currently connected to the wireless LAN access point.
Three bars are used to indicate the signal level (the strength
of the connected wireless LAN access point’s radio signal).
The wireless USB adapter is inserted, but not connected with
a wireless LAN access point.

The wireless USB adapter is not inserted (nothing is
displayed).

Wireless LAN Function Settings
Make settings for Wireless ID or Ad-Hoc mode.
1. While holding down the FAVORITE [A], [B], and [WRITE]
buttons simultaneously, turn on the Lucina AX-09.
The display will indicate “U t L ”; the Lucina AX-09 will be in Utility
mode.
2. Press the TONE [6], FAVORITE [A] or [B] button to select a
parameter.
The display will indicate the parameter; then the current value is
shown.

ID)
Species the nal digits of the Lucina AX-09’s device
name and Ad-Hoc SSID (Lucina AX-09) that will be shown
as the instrument in the wirelessly connected app.
Normally, you should specify “0,” but if you have more
than one of the same instrument, you can set the
Wireless ID in the range of 1–99 to change the device
name and Ad-Hoc SSID for each instrument, as follows.
If Wireless ID=0, “Lucina AX-09” (default value)
If Wireless ID=1, “Lucina AX-09_1”

If Wireless ID=99, “Lucina AX-09_99”
* You can also check the Wireless ID by holding down
the [SHIFT] button and pressing the [AUDIO PLAYER]
button four times.

Turns Ad-Hoc mode on/o.

Channel)
Species the channel (1–11) for Ad-Hoc mode.
Normally, you won’t need to change the channel.
Try changing the channel only if you have problems
connecting.
3. Use the [INC/+] / [DEC/–] buttons to choose the desired setting.
The [WRITE] button will blink.
4. Press the [WRITE] button to save the setting.
5. Turn the Lucina AX-09 o, then on again.
Connecting in Ad-Hoc mode (Ad-Hoc Mode)
Here’s how to connect in Ad-Hoc mode.
What is Ad-Hoc mode?
Ad-Hoc mode lets you connect the Lucina AX-09 directly to an
iPhone or other wireless device without using a wireless LAN
access point. This is a convenient way to use the Lucina AX-09
with an iPhone or other wireless device if you’re in a location
where the wireless LAN access point you normally use is
unavailable, such as when you’re away from home.

Limitations
The iPod touch or other wireless device connected in Ad-Hoc
mode will be unable to communicate with the Internet or with
another wireless device. However, an iPhone or other wireless
device that has cellular capability will be able to connect to the
Internet via the cellular connection.
Please be aware that if you use a cellular connection for Internet
connectivity, you may incur costs depending on your rate plan.
1. While holding down the FAVORITE [A], [B], and [WRITE]
buttons simultaneously, turn on the Lucina AX-09.
The display will indicate “U t L ”; the Lucina AX-09 will be in Utility
mode.
2. Press the FAVORITE [A] button.
The display will indicate “A d h ”; then the value of the Ad-Hoc mode
setting ( o F F ) is shown.
3. Press the [INC/+] button to change the setting to “o n .”
The [WRITE] button will blink.
4. Press the [WRITE] button to save the setting.
5. Turn the Lucina AX-09 o, then on again.
6. Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press the [AUDIO
PLAYER] button ve times to display the Ad-Hoc Key.
After indicating “A d ,” the display will show a number that
represents the last three digits of the Ad-Hoc Key.
The actual Ad-Hoc Key is a ve-digit number. If, for example, “123” is
displayed, “00123” would be the actual Ad-Hoc Key. Make a note of
this ve-digit number.
7. On the iPhone or other wireless device that you want to
connect, select “Lucina AX-09“ shown in the above screen
to make the connection. (For example, on an iPhone,
choose [Settings] g [Wi-Fi] g [Choose a Network] to select
“Lucina AX-09.“ A password entry screen will appear; enter
the Ad-Hoc key of Step 6.)
For details on how to connect to a wireless LAN from an iPhone or
other device, refer to the owner’s manual of that device.
8. When you want to end the Ad-Hoc mode connection,
restore the iPhone settings in [Settings] g [Wi-Fi] g
[Choose a Network] to their previous state.
