Aluminum Base Pneumatic
Cylinder Replacement
1. Adjust chair to maximum seat height.
2. Turn chair upside down or set on its side.
3. Remove the base assembly from the
chair control by twisting and pulling on the
column with a pipe wrench or by using the
removal tool, (P/N 879100100) shown on
assembly direction 939504593.
4. To remove the column assembly from the
base, hit the column assembly on the bottom
with a hammer or mallet.
5. Slide cylinder spacer onto the new
tapered standpipe with V-notch as shown.
6. Install new column assembly by inserting
the tapered cylinder end into the chair control
housing and tapping firmly with a rubber
mallet.
7. Replace base assembly by sliding the
base over the bottom of the column
assembly, then tap firmly with a rubber mallet.
8. Turn chair right side up and seat taper fit
joints by sitting in the chair.
