Basic Installation
Basic InstallationBasic Installation
Basic Installation
1. After the port is complete (3-10 business days), the customer will then proceed to setup
the Axesstel at their home
a. The customer’s phones will quit working at their house when port is complete
2. Plug the Axesstel Power Adapter into an A/C outlet
3. Plug the phone cord into the main base of a cordless system or into a wall jack in the
house (READ BELOW
on how to choose)
a. There are 2 different ways to set up the Axesstel, based on the type of phones
the customer has in the house:
b. Cordless Phones Only
i. Plug the Axesstel into the main base of the cordless system. It will power all
the handsets tied to that cordless system.
c. Corded or combination of both cordless & corded phones
i. Depending on their previous carrier, they will disconnect the current coming
into the house one of these ways (Must Do this before plugging into wall):
1. Traditional Carrier (like AT&T)
: Go outside to “Telephone Network
Interface” Box and unplug (see Useful Pics on pg. 7)
2. Cable Company (like Comcast)
: Go to either the cable box or modem,
and find the Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter (eMTA) (pic found
in Useful Pics & Info pg.7). Find phone the cord plugged into the eMTA
and disconnect it from the wall.
ii. Use the Phone Line Tester (refer to #8 in package contents) to check for
current in the phone lines by plugging it into any jack in the house.
1. If Lights up “Green”, then there is still current running through the
phone lines. Go back and check what you disconnected.
2. If it “Does Not Light Up”, then you are ready to plug the axesstel
into any jack in the house.
iii. Once current is disconnected, plug the Axesstel into any jack in the house.
iv. Pick up phone and dial *228 Option #1.
v. Test Call
vi. DONE!
NOTE:
Always program your number into the customer’s cell phone. Example: Verizon-Irving
Rosa / 865-567-8586. The customer must call you and never call Verizon Customer Care for
service issues. Cellular Sales supports this product, not Verizon, so if you need help, call your
Cellular Sales Axesstel Champion, Irving Rosa: (865)567-8586

Trouble Shooting
Most Common Scenarios
:
1. When I made a call, it asked me for a credit card.
a. The Device is not programmed
i. Solution
: Dial *228 to program
2. I can make calls out but cannot receive them.
a. #1: The port may have not gone through yet.
i. Solution
: Dial the number, and if you don’t get a VZW voicemail message, then the
port hasn’t gone through yet. Remember
: it takes 3-10 business days (not
weekend days) for the port to go through.
b. #2: If plugged into the wall, use the phone line tester and check wall jack to see if there
is current that is interfering with the Axesstel terminal.
i. Solution
: Find current source and disconnect
3. I can’t make calls or receive calls. When you call it, it goes straight to VZW voicemail. When
I try to make a call, I get a fast tone/busy signal type of sound.
a. The port, or new line, is hung up in VZW system
i. Solution
: Do an ESN change to any cell phone. Program it and make test calls to
and from. Once successful, then do an ESN change back to the Axesstel. It should
then work just fine.
4. My phones don’t work.
a. #1: Could be any of the above
i. Check to see that the customer has connected everything correctly, check port
status, check esn on the device to make sure it matches.
b. #2: Axesstel could have frozen up (rare)
i. Solution
: Turn OFF. Pull the backup battery from the back of the Axesstel and
disconnect from A/C outlet. Put battery back in, connect back to A/C outlet, and
turn the Axesstel ON. (This is like doing a battery-pull on a cell phone)
