Thereare2differentcalibrationproceduresdependingonthealtitudeatwhich
thedeviceisto
beused:
1. 0‐3,000ft.(900m):PerformZeroCalibrationandSpanCalibration.
2. 3,000+ft.:PerformZeroCalibrationonly.
BeforeYouBegin
1. ForZeroCalibration,youwillneedagascylinderofpurenitrogen(0ppm
CO2).ForSpanCalibration,youwillneeda2
nd
cylinderof4%CO2.
2. Temporarilycoverthebuzzerholeintheupperrighthandcornerofthe
SEU(sensorunit)andRDU(remotedisplayunit)witha smallpieceof
maskingtapetominimizethealarmsoundduringcalibrat ion.
3. Ifcalibrationistobeperformedinsitu,first
informbuildingoccupantsthat
youwillbetestingtheCO2alarmforseveralminutes.
4. AttachincludedtubingbetweenthegascylindersandtheSEUcalibration
portasfollows:
a. RAD0102SX2Connectthetubingtothesuppliedplugandsecureit
overtheairentry/calibrationporton
thefrontoftheSEU.
b. RAD0102/RAD0200Connectthetubingtothecalibrationporton
thebottomoftheSEU.

ZeroCalibration
1. Attachtubingbetweenthenitr ogen(0ppmCO2)gas
cylinderandthecalibrationport.
2. Turnonthegasregulator.Flowrateshouldbe
between0.150.3litersperminute.
3. WaituntiltheCO2readingontheSEUsettles
consistentlyatorne ar0ppmCO2onthescreen.
4.
PresstheModebuttonuntilthe“CALI”iconflashes.
5. PressEntertoenterthe“Zero”calibrationmode.The“CALI”iconand
“ZEro”shouldbedisplayedonthescreen.
6. PressandholdtheModebuttonforatleast10secondsuntil“Calibrating”
and“CO2”areflashingsimultaneously.
7. Zerocalibration
willbegin.Afterapproximately5minutes,theLCDwill
displayeither“PASS”or“FAIL”.IftheLCDreads“FAIL”,repeatthesteps
again.
8. PressEnter.Thedisplayshouldnowshow0ppm.Removethenitrogen
cylinder.


SpanCalibration
Warning:YoumustbeinawellventilatedareabeforestartingSpanCalibration.
Breathing4%CO2gasinanenclosedareacanresultindizziness,shortnessof
breath,orunconsciousness.
Devicecannotbespancalibratedabove3,000ft.(900m)altitude.
1. Attachtubingbetweenthe4%CO2gascylinderand
the
calibrationport.
2. Turnonthegasregulator.Flowrateshouldbebetween
0.150.3litersperminute.
3. WaituntiltheCO2readingontheSEUsettles
consistentlyatorne ar4%CO2onthescreen.
4. BothAlarm1andAlarm2willsound.
5. PresstheMode
buttonuntilthe“CALI” iconflashes.
6. PressEnter2timestoenterthe“SPAn”calibrationmode.The“CALI”iconand
“SPAn”shouldbedisplayedonthescreen.
7. PressandholdtheModebuttonforatleast10secondsuntil“Calibrating”and
“CO2”areflashingsimultaneously.
8. Spancalibration
willbegin.Afterapproximately5minutes,theLCDwilldisplay
either“PASS”or“FAIL”.IftheLCDreads“FAIL”,repeattheste psagain.
9. PressEntertocompletecalibration.RemovetheCO2cylinder.
10. Toresetthealarm,youmustdisconnecttheSEUfromthepowersource.Wait
afewseconds,
thenplugitbackinagain.
Ifyourunitfailseither“ZEro”or“SPAn”calibration,please
followtheprocedureagainbeforecallingsupport.
