1. OPTIMIZING EVENT MAST ER INPUT -CA RD

INSTALLATION IN THE EX EXPANSION BOX

1.1 General

Phenom enon

The L ED wires, or the wire zip tie, on an Event Master input card can come into contact

with elements of the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) of the main board, if the Event

MasterinputcardisinstalledinSlot1.

Solution

Install a single Event Mas ter input card in Slot 2. If two E vent Master input car ds are to be

installed, make sure that the LED wires are pressed as far toward the Event Master input

card PCBA as is possible. It may also be necessary to rotate the zip tie for the LED wires

so that it does not contact the components on the main board PCBA.

This phenomenon and solution affects Event Master input c ards installed in EX expansion

boxes.

1.2 Installing an Ev ent Master i np u t card

A single Event Master input card

When installing a single Event Master input card, install it in Slot 2, where interference does

not o ccur with the main board. Slot 2 is the card slot on the right-hand side of the rear

panel.

Two Event Master input cards

When installing two Event Master input cards, install the ﬁrstinSlot2andthesecondin

Slot 1. Make sure that the LED wires are pressed as far toward the PCBA of each card as

is possible (see image 1-3). Rotate the zip tie for the LED wires so that it does not contact

the chassis or the components on the main board PCBA.
