The Bluetooth signal analyzer of MTP300A can quickly and accurately measure the transmission power,
spectral characteristics, and frequency modulated signals transmitted by a Bluetooth Low Energy
transmitter.
The S300A-B01 is an essential option for Bluetooth measurement and can measure up to Bluetooth
5.0.
S300A-B02 and S300A-B03 are additional options for Bluetooth LE and audio measurements,
respectively.

1.2 Bluetooth Operating Mode
There are two Bluetooth operating modes in MTP300A: signaling mode and non-signaling mode.

1.2.1 Signaling Mode
In signaling mode, a Bluetooth link is established between MTP300A and the DUT, and then it is
tested OTA(over the air).
MTP300A automatically controls the DUT OTA in signaling mode.
1.2.2 Non-Signaling Mode
The DUT is directly contolled instead of forming a Bluetooth link between MTP300A and the DUT. For
non-signaling test, the method of controlling a chipset must be defined, and a remote control
software which automatically controls the chipset may be neccessary.

2.1 General Configuration for Measurment
RF measurements for most Bluetooth devices are performed OTA(over the air) as they use built-in
antennas. Figures below depict general configurations for bluetooth measurement using MTP300A.
2.1.1 Sample Configuration for R&D

3Shield Box: Use a Shield Box for shielding external EMI to ensure the reliability of the
measurement. Connect the Shiled Box and MTP300A with N to N coaxial cable bundled with the
product.
4Antenna Coupler: Depending on the shape of DUT, connect directly with an RF cable or place an
antenna coupler to configure the testing environment.
5DUT preparation: Generally, a Bluetooth terminal has an internal test mode to verify its
performance. If it is connected via the USB on the front panel, it will be controlled automatically
by MTP300A.

If a VNC viewer is installed on the client PC, MTP300A can be controlled remotely as it has the VNC server
function.
3.1 VNC Viewer Installation
Install the VNC viewer on the client PC(remote control PC) as noted below.
VNC viewer software can be downloaded from the internet for free.
Ex) TightVNC (https://www.tightvnc.com/download.php)
3.2 IP Address Settings
At the time of release, the IP address and subnet mask of MTP300A are set as shown below.

To run the MTP300A GUI on a client PC, the client PC must be on the same subnet as the MTP300A's
IP address. (However, the IP address of the client PC and the IP address of the MTP300A should not be
the same.)
3.2.1 Setting the IP Address of Client PC
• IP address : 192.168.100.x
• x must be a number between 1 and 252 (MTP300A uses 253)
• Subnet mask(U): 255.255.255.0

2Click "Change adapter settings" → select "Ethernet" to connect → right-click → click "Properties"

When setting the IP address, do not select an IP address that already exists on the
network.
The IP address setting of MTP300A is not changed by turning the power off and on, or
by executing RESET and PRESET.
MTP300A does not support the DHCP function in which the IP is automatically set. In
order to set the IP, ask your network supervising personel in advance to set the
appropriate IP settings. If a connection error occurs, it can affect the entire network.
Before changing the IP address of the remote control PC, record the existing settings
for future reference.

2Enter the IP address of MTP300A at "Remote Host" → click "Connect"
3In "Vnc Authentication" window, enter the password set for MTP300A VNC server and click
"OK."
The initial VNC server password of MTP300A at the time of release is "tescom"
Here's how to change the default password:
