1 Introducing EXFO Link

EXFO Link is a mobile application designed to enrich and ease

consolidation of test results either from EXFO or third-party vendor test

sets. The application achieves this by associating a location tag to test

results as well as providing the capability to uniformly document third-party

test results. Those results can be transferred from any test set to a smart

device using a wireless or wired link. From the smart device, results are

sent to a centralize database facilitating the consolidation of files coming

from multiple source into one location. EXFO Link unifies all test results

and links everything.

Main Features

EXFO Link includes the following features:

 Easy test results transfer and test set management

 Automated upload of test results to EXFO Connect

 Unique test results enrichment with geolocation information tagging

 Quick and uniform identification of multiple third-party test results

 Flexible test results transfer by browsing a USB drive or using the share

function from any other app.

 Configurable test results deletion after a given number of days or

successful upload

2 Setting up EXFO Link

Preparing to Use EXFO Link

Before you start working with EXFO Link, you need to install it on your

smart device.

To install EXFO Link:

1. Ensure you have access to an Internet connection.

2. Tap the Google Play Store icon.

3. In the Google Play Store (or Play Store) application, search for EXFO

or EXFO Link.

4. Follow the instructions on-screen.

IMPORTANT

The applications is available for free in Google Play Store. You need

to have a Google account to download it. For more information,

refer to www.google.com.

Configuring EXFO Connect Information

Before you can use EXFO Link, you must have a valid EXFO Connect

account, and a server address where you will send your data. For more

information on using EXFO Connect and creating accounts, refer to the

corresponding user documentation.

To enter the connection information:

1. From the main window, tap .

Note: Depending on the smart device you are using, the application settings can

be found in the menu button instead.

2. Select Settings.

IMPORTANT

The EXFO Connect account information must be set first, as some of

the EXFO Link features are unavailable without it.

3. Under EXFO CONNECT SETTINGS, enter the required information for

your server URL, the user name to use, and the corresponding

password:

3b. Enter the desired data.

3c. Tap OK to confirm the info and return to the Settings menu.

4. Tap to return to the main window.

Configuring Test Sets

Test sets are used to identify third-party test results. They contain

manufacturer, model and serial number information, as well as the

calibration date for the unit used for the tests. You can change the

calibration date as needed.

To add a test set:

1. From the main window, tap .

Note: Depending on the smart device you are using, the application settings can

be found in the menu button instead.

2. Select Settings.

3. Under General settings, tap Test Set Management.

5. Fill out the desired information for your test set.

Note: The Manufacturer, Model, and Serial number items are mandatory.

6. Once you are done, tap OK to save the test set and add it to the list of

available choices.

7. Tap to return to the main window.

To modify the calibration date on an existing test set:

1. From the main window, tap .

be found in the menu button instead.

2. Select Settings.
