ASSEMBLY PROCEDURES
Pruner Chain Tension and Lubrication
The below information has been provided to enhance the manual supplied with your machine, following ongoing
product enhancements. To ensure your chain is operating to its optimum, ensure that you adjust the chain tension and
lubricate the chain.
Chain Tension Screw
Periodically during use, check the tension of the chain. It is important to maintain proper chain tension. Incorrect chain
tension can cause the guide bar to wear and the chain to come off. To check the chain tension:
Switch the engine off and wear work gloves.
The chain must fit snugly against the underside of the guide bar. You should be able to pull the chain away from the
guide bar, 5-6mm or pull the chain along the guide bar by hand.
A new chain must be tensioned more often than older chains that has been used for some time.
Adjust the tension by turning the tension screw, clockwise to tighten and anti-clockwise to loosen.
Chain Lubrication Screws
Please use specifically formulated and design Chainsaw Oil. Never use a chain without lubrication, if used dry the
attachment could be irretrievably damaged within a short time. To check that the chain is being lubricated sufficiently,
it must always throw some oil off. Run the machine at medium speed over cardboard or newspaper. The machine will
deposit oil onto the cardboard or newspaper if operating correctly. To adjust the oil flow:
Loosen screw 1 by two turns.
Loosen screw 2 by a quarter turn.
Tighten screw 1 fully.
Test for oil throw off and if still not sufficient, repeat above steps.
If your chain is not being lubricated, please check for any blockages from discarded sawdust, etc and clear
appropriately.

Pole Saw Attachment
Gear Case
When adding lubricant, use a grease gun to insert lubricant into the gear box
(Refer to Fig. 8).
Oiling Port
Dismount the guide bar and check the oiling port for clogging. (Refer to Fig. 9).
Guide Bar
Remove sawdust in the bar groove and the oiling port. (Type: Sprocket nose).
(Refer to Fig. 10).
Grease the nose sprocket from the feeding port on the tip of the bar (Refer to Fig. 11). The bar rail should always be a
square. Check for wear of the bar rail. Apply a ruler to the bar and the outside of a cutter. If a gap is observed between
them, the rail is normal. Otherwise, the bar rail is worn. Such a bar needs to be corrected or replaced. (Refer to Fig. 12).
If the drive rim has wear greater than 0.3 mm the rim should be replaced (Refer to Fig. 13).
