PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION
Before dismantling your vehicle, we suggest you prepare
all your components, enclosures and wiring harnesses. It
increases efciency to have everything ready when each
component is installed.
STEP 1 – CONFIRMING POWER TO BUSBAR
(Applies to 2013-2018 RZR Models)
The Polaris RZR and the HIFONICS RZR-Tuned Audio
System upgrade requires a harness that connects the
battery under the seat to the busbar harness located under
the hood.
The harness is shown in Figure 1-1. Check that your
2013-2018 machine has this harness installed. If not, you
can purchase from your dealer or Polaris online. The part
numbers are 2881551 or 2881646 depending on which
specic RZR model you own. 2018.5 Turbo S and all 2019+
RZR models already contain a busbar harness.

PRE-INSTALLATION
STEP 2 - PREPARE KICK PANEL COMPRESSION HORNS
Figure 2-1 is from the HIF-POD manual which guides you
step-by-step through preparing the kick panel compression
horn speakers for installation into the kick panel enclosure
and the RZR.
Removing the large back plate and installing the special
compression horn diaphragm covers dramatically reduces
the depth of the compression horns which ultimately allows
our overall kick panel enclosure to be shallower than you
would think. This assures maximum leg room for driver and
passenger in the vehicle.
Do not proceed with the kick panel installation until you have properly prepared the speakers with their
compression diaphragm covers.
Refer to the manual in the kit called HIF-POD. You can also nd this manual online by searching the model
number.
STEP 3 - SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE & MOUNTING CLIPS
STEP 3a – LOCATE MOUNTING CLIPS
If your subwoofer is not pre-installed in the enclosure, you must
prepare the unit by installing the clips that hold the door from
your OEM glove box. See Figure 3-1.
STEP 3b – MOUNT CLIPS
Mount the included hinge brackets for the OEM glove box door
to be tted on to your subwoofer as shown in Figure 3-2 through
3-4. Use the provided nuts to secure the hinge brackets from the
inside of the subwoofer. Do not over tighten.
The hinge clip with the closed hole mounts on the driver side
with the screws on the inside where the glove box door will
cover the screws. See Figure 3-3.
The hinge clip with the open (hook-like) hole mounts on the
passenger side with the screws on the inside where the door will
cover the screws shown. See Figure 3-4.

SUBWOOFER PREP
INSTALL SUBWOOFER INTO ENCLOSURE
STEP 1 - WIRING THE SUBWOOFER*
Set your subwoofer enclosure on a at surface as shown in Figure 4-1. *If you have a 2018.5 Turbo S
or 2019 RZR model, please see the modication required on the next page BEFORE completing the
subwoofer installation into the enclosure.
Put the subwoofer enclosure on its back
and extend the harness from inside
the enclosure as shown. This will allow
you to easily connect the wiring to the
subwoofer’s push-connector terminals.
If your subwoofer was not pre-installed, you will wire the woofer
with the dual voice coils to yield a 2 ohm load (indicated with the Ω
symbol) as pictured in Figure 4-2.
We have prepared the internal harness so you cannot make
a mistake. Wiring the subwoofer for 2 ohms (2Ω) will allow the
subwoofer to develop maximum power from the amplier by perfectly
balancing the impedance with the amplier’s power output.
Use the connection where two wires will insert into one voice coil
connector and then route the other end of the wire to opposite
connector, shown in Figure 4-3 and Figure 4-4.
NOTE – Wiring code is solid white connects to the (+) Positive/Red
speaker terminal and White/Black Stripe connects to the (-) Negative/
Black speaker terminal. To open the speaker terminals push down on
the connector to open, push the soldered ends of the wires through
the hole and release the connector to establish a good electrical
connection.
STEP 2 – SECURE THE SUBWOOFER TO THE ENCLOSURE
Due to the shape of the enclosure it can be very difcult to balance
the subwoofer enclosure and screw in the speaker for one person
shown in Figure 4-5.
To avoid damage to the subwoofer, consider having a friend hold the
enclosure steady while you mount the subwoofer using hand tools
and the screws provided.
It is not advised to use a powered screw gun for this step.

SUBWOOFER PREP
REMOVE & REINSTALL THE GLOVE BOX DOOR
With a small amount of pressure you can bend up on
the center portion of your OEM glove box door and
remove it from the brackets.
In a reverse movement you can now reinstall this
door onto your new subwoofer glove box to give your
subwoofer a stealth appearance as shown in Figure
5-1.
The subwoofer is now complete. Set aside the
subwoofer enclosure/glove box combination until it’s
time for installation and amplier wiring.
NOTE – Once the subwoofer is ready to be installed, ensure the wiring harness from the subwoofer
enclosure that connects to the amplier does not get pinched behind the enclosure. This will prevent
the enclosure from seating properly and will not allow the front dash to snap into place properly during
reassembly. The harness should be routed over the top of the push bar frame to the subwoofer amplier
connector. This is also noted in the subwoofer installation section, but important to consider at this stage.
SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE MODIFICATION (2018.5 Turbo S and 2019 Models)
If you have a 2018 XP Turbo S or 2019 RZR XP vehicle, a simple modication to the subwoofer enclosure
which involves cutting four threaded metal studs and grinding them smooth is required. This modication in
no way will affect your product warranty. Complete this modication BEFORE loading the subwoofer into the
enclosure.
PREPARATION - You will need a at surface on which to work and someone to assist you in holding the
enclosure. You’ll also need a cutting tool (such as an Air Saw, Hacksaw, Sawzall) and a metal grinding tool
(such as a Dremel tool, electric disc grinder, etc.). Of course eye protection and heavy gloves are a must for
safety. Total modication time should be 10-15 minutes.
STEP 1 – IDENTIFY METAL STUDS TO BE CUT
Due to change in the metal work in the dash, the 4 front
studs on the enclosure must be removed so that it will
clear the support bar in the 2018 RZR Turbo S, 2019
RZR XP, XP Turbo and Turbo S machines as shown
in Figure 5-2. This is necessary for installation into the
vehicle later in the process.
STEP 2 – CUT OFF METAL STUDS
These 4 studs need to be removed with a cutting tool
(Air Saw, Hacksaw, Sawzall, i.e) or what other cutting
device that you would like to use.
STEP 3 – GRIND SMOOTH
After cutting the studs ush go back with a grinding
device and clean up the area. After removal the
subwoofer enclosure will look like Figure 5-3.

POWER HARNESS
INSTALL POWER HARNESS AT BUSBAR (ALL MODELS)
Before positing the system harness and wiring all the components (source unit, ampliers, subwoofer and
other speakers), you need to prepare the power portion of the audio harness and run into the vehicle.
STEP 1 – REMOVE RZR Busbar FACTORY CONNECTIONS
Remove the connections to the RZR busbar as shown in Figure 9-1 to allow connecting the audio harness
along with reconnecting the RZR busbar harness.
STEP 2 – LAY IN HARNESS - IDENTIFY FIREWALL GROMMET
Beginning at the RZR busbar, route the power, ground and accessory portion of the audio system harness
in the front vehicle. The harness will run through the grommet next to an existing wiring harness as shown in
Figure 9-2. Do not use other grommets if present, empty or not. Use only the grommet shown.
STEP 3 – CUT OPENING IN GROMMET AND RUN WIRING THROUGH
Using a razor knife, carefully slice the rubber grommet on the top side as shown in Figure 9-3a. This allows
you to move the harnesses into the dash and to the ampliers. Push the radio, rear speaker/illumination
and amplier connections through the grommet as in Figure 9-3b. Leave accessible from the inside of the
vehicle. Use black electrical tape or silicone-based caulking to seal the slice during nal inspection.
STEP 4 – COMPLETE BUSBAR CONNECTION
Complete connections at the busbar as shown in Figure
9-4. Mount the HIFONICS audio harness rst, with the
OEM RZR connections on top. This allows you to use
the red boot on the powerline, keeping your install clean
and looking factory installed. Zip tie this power portion
of the harness into place. Assure that no added wiring
is near any moving parts or components that generate
large amounts of heat.

AMPLIFIER MOUNTING
AMPLIFIER PREPARATION AND MOUNTING (2013-2018 Models)
Before installing the dual amplier plate with the amplier(s) in position, you must prepare the mounting area
in the vehicle to accept the plate.
NOTE - These instructions assume both ampliers and all speakers are present in a full Stage 5 System. If
not all components are present in your system, this makes upgrading much easier.
STEP 1 – LOOSEN STEERING COLUMN NUTS
Loosen the 16mm nuts that secure the steering column to the support frame shown in Figure 10-1a. These
nuts are very hard to loosen. Be careful. Do not remove these steering column nuts, only loosen to create
an 1/8 inch gap between the nut and the frame shown in Figure 10-1b. You will not re-tighten these nuts until
the installation of the whole system is nalized, tested and the vehicle is ready for reassembly.
STEP 2 – AMPLIFIER MOUNTING
Mount your amplier(s) on the dual amplier plate as shown in FIG 10-2 (below). This conguration is critical
to make sure you can access your ne tune adjustments for crossover and bass boost.
STEP 3 – MOUNTING PLATE INSTALLATION
With the ampliers mounted to the plate, slide it into position with the double groove portion of the bracket
sliding between the steering column support shown in 10.1b (above) and the 16mm nuts and washers. Do
not tighten down yet. On the front edge you will secure the plate with the 10mm bolt you removed from the
dash pocket which will also hold the bracket then will ultimately support the new dash pocket with the source
unit. The nished plate should look like Figure 10-3.
You will tighten the 16mm nuts and washers next to the steering column once reassembly of the vehicle
begins. This allows easy removal of the amplier plate for troubleshooting (if necessary).
NOTE - The dual amplier harness is designed and laid out to perfectly connect power and speaker
connections on the driver’s side of the ampliers while the RCA audio connections are on the passenger
side of the RZR.

AMPLIFIER PREPARATION AND MOUNTING (2018.5 Turbo S & 2019 Models)
Before installing the dual amplier plate with the amplier(s) in position, you must prepare the mounting area
in the vehicle to accept the plate. The area where the ECU bracket was removed and set aside is where the
dual amplier plate installs. If a factory-optioned amplier was present, this would also have been removed.
NOTE - These instructions assume both ampliers and all speakers are present in a full Stage 5 System. If
not all components are present in your system, this makes upgrading at a later date much easier.
STEP 1 – SET THE ECU AND BRACKET BACK IN
PLACE*
Set the Dynamics ECU (if present) and ECU mounting
bracket back in its original placement ensuring the wiring
intended for the amplier harness is routed through the
gap area at the forward section of the bracket. Loosely
reattach only the two (2) 10mm rear bolts (nearest the
dashboard) at this point as shown in Figure 10-4. *It is
only important the ECU bracket is back in place for trial
tting of the dual amplier plate. It will not have its nal
reassembly at this step.
STEP 2 – AMPLIFIER MOUNTING
Mount your amplier(s) on the dual amplier plate in
the conguration shown. This conguration is critical to
make sure you can access your ne tune adjustments
for crossover and bass boost.
STEP 3 – TRIAL FITTING THE DUAL AMP PLATE
With the ampliers mounted to the plate, place it into
position atop the ECU bracket as shown in Figure 10-6.
Be sure there is free movement of the wiring harness
with enough length to connect to the amplier’s on-
board connectors. Loosely t the remaining two (2)
10mm bolts from the ECU bracket to check the t of the
dual amp plate. Connect the power and speaker wiring
to the harness as labeled. Do not zip tie anything at this
point as the amp plate will not have its nal reassembly
until after the system has completed testing.
STEP 4 – REMOVE DUAL AMP PLATE AND FLIP
OVER, REMOVE ECU BRACKET
With the ampliers connected to the wiring harness,
place a towel or blanket over the open hood area.
Remove the rst two (2) 10mm bolts for the amp plate,
remove the plate and ip it over on the towel to avoid
scratching the amplier heatsinks. Next remove the
remaining two (2) 10mm bolts from the ECU mount (if
present) and place the ECU to the side as when initially
disassembled on page 10. This will allow you to continue
working on the other steps of the installation until you’re
ready to power up the system, complete nal testing and
nalize the reassembly of the ECU bracket and dual amp plate.

SUBWOOFER MOUNTING
SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE MOUNTING (ALL MODELS)
With the subwoofer installed in the enclosure and the glove box door in position from earlier preparation
steps, you are ready to mount the subwoofer into the glove box location. For those applications on 2018.5
Turbo S and 2019+ RZR models, ensure you’ve completed the modication shown on page 6.
STEP 1 – POSITION AND BEGIN MOUNTING SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE
Sitting on the oor of the RZR, hold the subwoofer enclosure up to the grab bar pipe. Sitting on the oor
of the RZR, hold the subwoofer enclosure up to the grab bar pipe. Mount the subwoofer to the RZR using
the supplied steel plates (2), the (8) nuts, and
(8) washers shown in Figure 11-1. Use your
1/2 inch socket with a small ratchet to begin
tightening the nuts. Space is tight for any larger
tools, a smaller ratchet will work best.
NOTE – Ensure the wiring harness from the
subwoofer does not get pinched behind the
enclosure. This will prevent the enclosure from
seating properly and will not allow the front
dash to snap into place properly The harness
should be routed over the top of the push bar
frame to the subwoofer amplier connector.
STEP 2 – FINISH SUBWOOFER MOUNTING
Tighten a few threads at a time on each bolt to
allow the subwoofer to rise up against the pull
bar frame evenly. This will allow the subwoofer
to seat properly against the frame of the
vehicle. As the subwoofer enclosure comes
up against the grab bar pipe, before it is nally
secure, make sure that the speaker wire is not
behind the enclosure. Once veried, bolt the
subwoofer tightly into place.
NOTE – When the subwoofer starts to seat
into place, push the subwoofer rmly forward
as shown in Figure 11-2 as you tighten the last
thread with the mounting nuts. This forward
pressure will be critical when you reassemble the front
dash for tment into all the clips.
STEP 3 – ROUTE SUBWOOFER HARNESS
Route the subwoofer enclosure’s harness over to the
amplier area. Connect it to the speaker output of the
mono amplier as shown in Figure 11-3.
The next section describes connecting the other wiring
harnesses to the ampliers.

HARNESS CONNECTIONS
AMPLIFIER AND SPEAKER WIRING HARNESS CONNECTIONS
With your amplier(s) mounted, subwoofer installed and connected to the mono amplier, you can now
begin laying in the front/rear speaker harnesses and plugging in all the remaining connectors.
NOTE - While you are working on your system, we recommend covering the ampliers to avoid scratching
them or inadvertently hitting the crossovers with a wrench or screw driver.
STEP 1 – POWER AND SPEAKER CONNECTORS AT AMPLIFIERS
Plug in the power/ground connector of the two channel and the mono ampliers
respectively. At the same time, if you have illumination, connect the red/black. Next,
connect full range speaker connectors to the two channel amplier. You should
already have connected the subwoofer to the mono amplier in the previous section.
If not, do this step now. See Figure 12-1 for the connection diagram.
STEP 2 – ROUTE FRONT SPEAKER HARNESS
Make sure your front left and front right kick panel
harnesses are set into place.
The left front harness for the kick panel should be
routed down the left side of the steering column to
the kick panel area.
The right front harness for the kick panel needs to
be routed over the subwoofer, not behind, and then
to the kick panel area.
The kick panel pod installation will take place at a
later step. For now, you are simply pre-wiring the
harnesses to their respective areas.
STEP 3 – ROUTE REAR SPEAKER HARNESS
Route rear speaker harness toward rear speakers
through the console area as shown in Figure 12-2.
You can route the remaining harnesses to the rear
pod area by either removing the oil lter cover on
the back wall or route your wires through small
gaps in the body panels.
NOTE – On a four seat RZR (4P RZR) you will need to include the 4P jumper to extend the rear speaker

REAR SPEAKER POD INSTALLATION
Every roll cage angle is a bit different; therefore you should take the time to install the swivel mount
brackets. We suggest you do this on a at surface or work bench.
These brackets are designed to allow 180 degree tilt. This
guaranties that the speaker points directly forward. This exibility
in positioning improves sound quality and overall volume. Refer
to instructions for the swivel bracket packaged with the speaker
pods. Also ensure that the Adjustment Locking Screw is at the
rear of the assembly (not the front) as shown in Figure 13-1.
STEP 1 – TEST MOUNT SPEAKER PODS w/BRACKETS
Stock RZR roll cages use the 1.75 inch tube. If you have an
aftermarket or custom cage you will nd the correct bushings and
mounts included in the box with the pods. Refer to the manual
included with your pods for additional details on mounting and wiring.
Mount the pod and swivel bracket to the roll cage tube. Once the speakers are on the roll cage tube, you
can gently slide the pod up or down on the tube to determine where your nal height will be. Use painter’s
tape to measure and mark a general position so it’s even on both sides. Figures 13-2a and 13-2b show
potential mounting options to try out.
Once the general mounting position is chosen, do not fully tighten the pods as you may want to do nal
adjustments for your ear height after the seat is in position and the system is playing music.
STEP 2 – CONNECT WIRING
Wire up the rear speaker wiring to the speaker pods. If your pods
also feature illumination, there is a small red/black jumper wire
and splitter that connects the rear speaker harness illumination
wire to the left and right rear pod illumination. The harness ran
in the vehicle should be color coded and have the correct male/
female connectors to make this an easy task. Use the diagram
shown in Figure 13-2c to determine your choice of either red
or blue illumination. If you prefer to have no illumination, do not
connect any illumination wiring.
Do not zip-tie the wires along the roll cage or gather up excess
wire until the system has been fully tested.

KICK PANEL SPEAKERS
MOUNTING THE KICK PANEL SPEAKERS
Through hundreds of installations, we’ve found once mounting holes are drilled, it’s best to start with the
driver’s side kick panel and then move on to the passenger’s side kick panel to complete the mounting and
wiring of the kick panels. This way you only need the drill out once, then completely nish the left before
moving on to the right. The subwoofer should already be mounted at this stage and both kick panel wires
run to their respective general areas.
STEP 1 – MARK DRILLING SPOTS ON FENDER
Using colored painters tape shown in Figure 14-1a, to mark the interior fender well of the RZR where you
need to drill two mounting holes. To do this, hold an empty left or right pod in your hand. Hold the pod
into place to approximate the position of the mounting holes on the internal fender. Set the unit down and
put colored tape onto the interior fender well area behind the pod until you can see the tape through the
mounting holes when you hold the pod back into place. Next, use a permanent felt-tipped marker to mark
the mount holes on the painter’s tape as shown in Figure 14-1b. Repeat this process on the passenger’s
side kick panel area.
STEP 2 – DRILL HOLES
Drill (2) 5/16 inch mounting holes into the fender where you marked the tape shown in Figure 14-2. Repeat
this process and drill two more 5/16 inch mounting holes on the passenger’s side kick panel area. Remove
any tape in the drilling area from the interior fender wells.
STEP 3 – PUSH OUTER BOLTS THROUGH FENDER AND KICK PANEL
With the included hardware push (1) bolt and (1) washer mount through the fender into the pod. This leaves
only the head of the bolt visible behind the tire shown in Figure 14-3.
NOTE - Wait to mount passenger kick panel until driver’s side
panel is completely mounted and wired.

KICK PANEL SPEAKERS
STEP 4 – MOUNT KICK PANELS
Using the 5/16 inch bolts, washers, and nuts, mount
the kick panel as shown in Figure 14-4. Make sure you
use a washer on the inside of the enclosure against the
internal wall of the pod which you sandwich against the
fender of the RZR. Use your 1/2 inch ratchet and wrench
to secure the pod.
NOTE - Make sure that the wires behind the enclosure
have remained accessible for connecting to the amplier
harness. Use some painters tape to keep them from
getting blocked by the enclosure if necessary.
STEP 5 – CONNECT WIRE HARNESS INTO KICK PANELS
Connect the wire harness from the amplier that you routed earlier to the wire harness from the kick panel.
STEP 6 – WIRE THE FRONT SPEAKERS
Identify the harness wires inside of each pod as shown in Figure 14-5a. Connect speaker and illumination
wires as shown in Figure 14-5b. See page 18 for red or blue illumination connection options. If you prefer to
have no illumination, do not connect any illumination wiring.
STEP 7 – MOUNT THE FRONT SPEAKERS
With the speakers properly wired, mount the speaker to the enclosure. Position the speaker (with the
compression horn backplate removed) in the enclosure and mount with the included hardware as shown in
Figure 14-6a. We suggest mounting with hand tools to stripping out the mounting hardware or damaging the
speakers. Final speaker position is shown in Figure 14-6b. Repeat steps 3-7 on the passenger’s side.
NOTE - Refer to the compression horn diaphragm replacement manual included with the speakers called
HIF-POD if you have not yet remove the back plate to accommodate the kick panel depth.
