If after reading all the instructions below, you are not confident in your ability to correctly
install this device, call a licensed plumber to perform the installation. Installation of this kit
shall be in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
Failure to follow these instructions will void the warranty and possibly result in leaks and
property damage.
CAUTION: The EZ Quick Tee Valve in this kit includes a pre-assembled 1/4'' collet. Shipping
and handling could cause the collet to be dislodged from the EZ Quick Tee Valve. Re-insert
the 1/4'' collet if necessary before proceeding with the installation. The collet should be
installed in the fitting on the valve used for the 1/4'' PEX tubing.
CAUTION: Avoid exposure to U.V. rays (sunlight). Do not store or install where it will be
exposed to direct or indirect ultraviolet rays (sunlight).
CAUTION: Selecting the proper location is critical for a successful installation. Review the
following requirements to locate a suitable insertion point before beginning:
1. Water supply pipe must be 3/4'' tube size (CTS) copper, PEX or CPVC.
2. This kit MUST be connected to a COLD water supply line.
EZ Quick 1/2" Water Line
Installation Kit
CAUTION: DONOT connect the EZ Quick TeeValve toaHOTwater supply line. Connecting to
a hot water supply line can damage the components ofthis kit and/orthe appliance.
3. Shut off water supplyto the supplypipelocation. Ifin doubt,
shut off mainwater supply to residence.
4. Releasethewaterpressure within the supplypipe by opening
a faucetattached tothe samepipeto beused forthe
insertion point.
5. Identify and mark onthe water supplyline where the center
of the fitting will be located.
6. Place anadditionalmark 1-1/4'' on both sides ofthiscut
mark. These marks will be used for reference to make sure
that theEZ QuickTeeValveis fully seatedwhen installed.
7. Loosenor removepipe supportsifnecessarytomovethe
pipetogainaccessforcuttingandseparation.
CAUTION:Waterwill drain fromcutpipe. Takeadequate
precautions thatwaterwillnotdriponany electricaldevices or
itemsthatwillstainorbe damaged.Acontainertocatchthe
waterthatdrainsout fromthe pipeisrecommended.
8. The EZ Quick TeeValve willadd approximately 1/2'' length tothe supply pipe. If there is room
for this added length, thepipe onlyneeds cutonce at the point marked. Makeone cutwith a
tubing cutter.
9. Be sure thatcut(s) made are clean and square and donot haveburrs.
CAUTION: The tubing cutter blade is sharp, usewithcare. Burrs are sharp,never use your
fingers to wipe or pull burrsfrom the pipe.
10.Orient the EZQuick Tee Valve so that thevalve handlewill be easily accessible
after installation.
11.Separate thesupply pipe to open up toa 3'' gap and insert the EZ Quick Tee Valve onto
oneof the pipe ends.The valve shouldslide onto the pipe about 1-1/4'',up tothe
referencemarkthat was previously made. A positive stop will be felt whenthe valveis
fully seated.
12.IftheEZQuick TeeValvecannotbeinstalledduetointerferenc
withtheotherpipeend,anadditional1/2''mayberemoved
fromthepipe.Makeamarkononeofthepipeends1/2''fromthe
originalcut.Cutthepipeatthismarkusingatubingcutter.
CAUTION: DONOTremove morethan a 1/2'' section fromthe supply line. Removing more than
1/2'' couldcause the EZ Quick Tee Valve toleak or disconnect during use and cause
property damage.
13.Place a new mark 1-1/4'' from the end of the new cut.This
mark will beusedforreference to make sure that the
EZ Quick TeeValveis fullyseated when installed.
14.Assure that cuts are clean and square and donot have burrs.
15.Separate thesupply pipe enough to install the EZQuick
Tee Valve.
16.Slide free pipe intothe openend ofthefitting and pushuntil it
seats against the internalstop, approximately 1-1/4''.
Connecting the Water Supply Line to Appliance
1. Ensure that appliance to be connected is turned off and
disconnectedfrom power supply (see manufacturers instructions).
2. Determine the fitting required for your specific appliance.
(See appliance manual for more information).
Tubing Connection: If there is a length of PEX or polyethylene tubing extending from the appliance,
connect it by using the 1/4'' x 1/4'' quick-connect union fitting included in the kit.
a. If the appliancetubing endswith a captured nut, remove the nut and ferrule.
b
. To removethe nut and ferrule, make a clean square cut using a utility knife. Check to make
s
ure that the cut isclean and square, with no burrs,and that the outside surface ofthe tubeis
s
mooth and clean.
c. Note: Ifappliance tubingdoes not include a captured nut, you may still need to make a clean
cut to ensure that the tubewill seat properly in the quick-connect union fitting.
d. Pushthe tubing from the appliance into one end of the quick-connect union fitting until it is
fully seated.
e. Pushthe PEX water line supplied in the kit into the other end of the quick-connect union
fitting until fully seated.
f. Insert the 1/4'' collet clips thatare included in the kit to securethe union connections.
Slipping the red clips between the collets and the union body will prevent them from
being compressed which could releasethe tubing. The colletclips will fit snug. Pulling
on the PEX water line once fully inserted may benecessary to get the clips intoposition.
Threaded Fitting: If the appliance issuppliedwith a male-threaded 1/4'' compression fitting, it
can be connected using the brass nut and plastic ferrule included in the kit.
a. Examine the end of the PEX tube supplied with thiskit to ensure that the end issquare
and free ofburrs and that the outside surface of the tube is smoothand clean.
b. If the tubing ends are damaged, make a clean cut witha utility knife to remove a portion
of the PEX tubing.
c. Insert the end of the PEX tubing supplied in the kit into the hole on the top ofthe brass
nut included in the kit. Slide the brass nut a few inches up the tubing.
d. Slide the plastic ferrule onto the end of the PEX tubingincluded in the kit. The tapered
end shouldpoint towards the end ofthe PEX tubing.
CAUTION: Use onlythe supplied plastic ferrule.

. Insert the endofthePEX tubing intothe fittingontheappliance. Make surethatthe PEX is
f
ully insertedintothe fitting.
f. Slide the plastic ferrule down the tubing until it seats within the fitting.
g. Slide the brass nut down the tubing, over the plastic ferrule, and thread onto the fitting
on the appliance.
h. Use an open-endedwrench to secure the nut. Maintain inward pressure on the tube
when tightening to ensure proper seal.
CAUTION: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. The nut only has to be snug to seal the ferrule against
the tubing and fitting. Over tightening can cause leaks or damage to the appliance or kit
components.When properly tightened, the compression ferrule should compress the
plastic tubing sufficiently to not allow slippageor removal by hand.
Run water line to water supply pipe.
The PEX tubingshould not be bent to a radius smaller than 3''. Bending the
tubing to a radius smaller than 3'' can lead to failure.
1. Determine the location behind the refrigeratoror near the appliance where a 3/8'' hole will be
drilled in the floor or cabinet torun the PEX tubing from the EZ Quick Tee Valve to
the appliance.
CAUTION: Locate the hole close to the wall to minimize risk of crushing and
kinking the PEX tubing when the appliance is moved.
Prior to drilling ensure that no electrical wires or other plumbing
lines are in the path of the drill bit. Failure to follow this warning could result in
property damage, personal injury, or death.
2. Drill the hole using a 3/8'' drill bit.
3. Route the PEX tubing from the appliance through the
hole and allow enough tubing to make the connection
to the EZ Quick Tee Valve.
4. Keep the remaining tubing behind the appliance to
allow for movement during installation or service.
5. Excess PEX supply line can be coiled and left behind
the appliance and secured in a convenient location or
cut to length as desired.
Installing Water Line to EZ Quick Tee Valve
1. Insert the end of the PEX tubing supplied in the kit
into the 1/4'' fitting on the side of the EZ Quick Tee
Valve. Push the tubing completely into the valve until
it fully seats.
2. Install a collet clip between the collet and the valve
body to prevent the PEX water supply line from being
accidentally released. The collet clip will fit snug.
Pulling on the PEX water line once fully inserted may
be necessary to get the clip into position.
3. Ensure that the valve is in the closed position.
Final Steps
1. Turn on the water supply to the supply pipe location. If
main water supply to residence was turned off, turn it
back on at this time.
2. Slowly turn on the EZ Quick Tee Valve.
3. Inspect for leaks around all connections.
4. Inspect appliance connections for leaks.
5. If leaks occur, shut off water supply and recheck the connection per the specific
instructions for that connection. Turn water back on and recheck for leaks.
6. If the connected appliance was moved for this installation, place it back into
position, making sure not to pinch or run over the coil of tubing. Make sure coil is
free to move.
7. Reconnect to power supply and turn appliance on per manufacturers’ instructions.
Discard the first few batches of ice or first few gallons of water
produced after installation to assure there are no contaminants in the system.
(Refer to your appliance manufacturer’s instructions).

3. Make sure that water supply is shut off prior to installation.
4. Water pressure must be between 30 and 120psi.
5. A vertical pipe is preferable to a horizontal pipe where debris could clog the fitting or
supply line.
6. Do not expose kit components to freezing temperatures.
7. This kit is supplied with a 25' length of PEX tubing. Plan your installation allowing
enough tubing at the appliance for movement during installation or service.
8. The EZ Quick tee valve must be visible and accessible to allow operation of the
shutoff feature. It is not meant for installations behind walls or above
drop ceilings.
9. Clearance of 4'' around the pipe is recommended to allow for cutting the pipe prior
to installation of EZ Quick Tee Valve. Ensure pipe can be pulled away from wall or
joist to allow required cutting.
CAUTION: Water will drain from cut pipe. Take adequate precautions that water will not
drip on any electrical devices or items that will stain or be damaged. A container to catch
the water that drains out from the pipe is recommended.
10. In order to install the EZ Quick Tee Valve a separation of up to 3'' between the two cut ends
could be required.
11. Plan the path from the installation point of the EZ Quick Tee Valve to the appliance location to
ensure tubing will reach and that there are no obstructions or objects that could damage
the tubing.
12. This kit includes fittings for most appliance connections. Inspect your appliance and the
supplied fittings to ensure compatibility.
Fittings used in this kit are made from materials that can be compromised by
exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and caustic chemicals. DO NOT expose this
product to any such chemical or foreign substance, including exposure to the following:
Pipe dopes (liquid thread sealants), leak check compounds, bug sprays, lubricants,
cleaners, paints, bleaches, acids, solder fluxes, plastic piping primers and cements,
oxidizing agents, alkaline solutions, thinners, fuels, oil based caulk, hydrocarbons, spray
foam or foaming agents ( i.e. insulation).
Installing EZ Quick Tee Valve in Water Supply Pipe
1. Ensure that the pre-assembled 1/4'' collet is inserted in the EZ Quick Tee Valve
before proceeding.
2. Identify the 1/2'' COLDwater line where you will install the EZ Quick Tee Valve.

MISE EN GARDE : la Vanne en T EZ Quick de ce kit est dotée d’une bague de serrage

MISE EN GARDE : choisir le bon emplacement est crucial pour une installation réussie. Consultez les

. Un tuyau vertical est préférable à un tuyau horizontal, car cela empêche que les

7. Ce kit comprend 25 pi de tube en PEX (polyéthylène réticulé). Pensez lors de votre
installation à garder assez de tube près de votre appareil électroménager afin de
permettre son déplacement pour sa mise en place ou son entretien.
8. La Vanne en T EZ Quick doit être visible et d’accès facile pour permettre l’utilisation
de son robinet d’arrêt. Ce produit n’est pas conçu pour une installation dans les
murs ou dans les plafonds suspendus.
9. Il est recommandé de prévoir un espace de 4 po environ autour du tuyau afin de
permettre sa coupe avant l’installation de la Vanne en T EZ Quick. Vérifiez que le
tuyau peut être dégagé du mur ou de la solive pour permettre la coupe nécessaire.
MISE EN GARDE : de l’eau s’égouttera du tuyau coupé. Prenez donc les mesures
nécessaires pour que cette eau ne goutte pas sur des appareils électriques ou des
articles qui risquent de se décolorer ou d’être endommagés. Il est recommandé de
prévoir un récipient pour collecter cette eau du tuyau.
10. L’installation de la Vanne en T EZ Quick exige en général un espace de 3 po au plus entre les
deux extrémités coupées du tuyau.
11. Vérifiez le passage prévu du tube, du point d’installation de la Vanne en T EZ Quick à
l’appareil électroménager, afin de vous assurer que vous en avez assez et qu’il n’existe aucun
obstacle ou objet risquant de l’endommager.
12. Ce kit comprend des raccords pour la plupart des appareils électroménagers. Vérifiez la
compatibilité des raccords fournis avec votre appareil électroménager..
Les raccords utilisés dans ce kit sont faits de matériaux qui peuvent être
endommagés s’ils sont exposés à des composés organiques volatils (COV) et à des
produits chimiques caustiques. N’exposez PAS ce produit à de tels produits chimiques
ni à quelque substance étrangère que ce soit, pas plus qu’aux produits suivants :
pâte lubrifiante (produits d’étanchéité du filetage liquides), produits utilisés pour la détection
des fuites, produits anti-insectes ou insecticides, lubrifiants, produits d’entretien, peintures,
agents de blanchiment, acides, flux de soudure, liens d’apprêt et ciments pour tuyau
en PVC, oxydants, solutions basiques, diluants, carburants, mastics à base d’huile,
hydrocarbures, mousses à pulvériser ou agents moussants (comme isolants).
Installation de la Vanne en T EZ Quick sur le tuyau d’arrivée d’eau
1. Vérifiez que la bague de serrage préassemblée de 1/4 po est correctement insérée
dans la Vanne en T EZ Quick avant de continuer.
2. Trouvez le tuyau d’arrivée d’eau FROIDE de 1/2 po où vous voulez installer
la Vanne en T EZ Quick.
MISE EN GARDE : NE connectez PAS la Vanne en T EZ Quick au tuyau d’arrivée d’eau
CHAUDE. Cela risque d’endommager les éléments de ce kit et/ou l’appareil électroménager.
3. Fermez l’arrivée d’eau du tuyau concerné. En cas de
doute, fermez la conduite d’eau principale de la maison.
4. Éliminez la pression dans le tuyau d’arrivée d’eau en
ouvrant un robinet tributaire de ce tuyau qui va être
utilisé pour l’insertion de la vanne.
5. Trouvez et marquez sur le tuyau d'arrivée d'eau le point
central où le raccord sera inséré.
6. Faites une autre marque à 1-1/4 po de chaque côté de
la marque du point d’insertion. Ces marques serviront
de référence pour assurer que la Vanne en T EZ Quick
est parfaitement placée lors de l’installation.

. Dévissez ou retirez les supports du tuyau pour pouvoir
l
e bouger et accéder à l’emplacement où la coupe et la
s
éparation seront faites.
MISE EN GARDE : de l’eau s’égouttera du tuyau coupé.
Prenez donc les mesures nécessaires pour que cette eau
ne goutte pas sur des appareils électriques ou des articles qui risquent de se
décolorer ou d’être endommagés. Il est recommandé de prévoir un récipient
pour collecter cette eau du tuyau.
8. La Vanne en T EZ Quick ajoutera environ 1/2 po à la longueur du tuyau. Si vous dis-
posez d’assez de place pour cette nouvelle longueur, vous n’aurez à couper le tuyau
qu’une seule fois au point central marqué. Faites une coupe à l’aide du coupe-tuyau.
9. Assurez-vous que la ou les coupes sont faites proprement et à angle droit, sans
aucune barbe.
MISE EN GARDE : la lame du coupe-tuyau est très coupante, faites attention. Les
barbes sont coupantes, n’essuyez et ne tirez jamais sur les barbes à mains nues.
10. Orientez la Vanne en T EZ Quick de manière à permettre un accès facile au robinet
de la vanne une fois l’installation terminée.
11. Écartez le tuyau d'arrivée d'eau coupé afin de dégager un espace de 3 po environ
entre les deux bouts et insérez la Vanne en T EZ Quick sur l’une des extrémités. La
vanne devrait glisser facilement sur le tuyau, environ sur 1-1/4 po, jusqu’à
la marque de référence faite précédemment. Une fois la vanne correctement
installée, elle bute bien en place.
12. Si la Vanne en T EZ Quick ne peut pas être installée,
en raison d’un blocage par l’autre extrémité du tuyau,
faites une autre coupe pour éliminer 1/2 po environ
de plus du tuyau. Faites une marque sur l’une des
extrémités, à 1/2 po environ de la coupe d’origine.
Coupez le tuyau à cette marque à l’aide du coupe-tuyau.

ISE EN GARDE : NE retirez PAS plus de 1/2 po du tuyau d'arrivée d'eau. Autrement,
c
ela pourrait occasionner une fuite sur la Vanne en
T
EZ Quick ou sa déconnexion pendant l’utilisation
e
t causer des dégâts matériels.

3. Faites une nouvelle marque à 1-1/4 po environ de
l
’extrémité de la nouvelle coupe. Cette marque servira
d
e référence pour assurer que la Vanne en T EZ Quick
e
st parfaitement placée lors de l’installation.
14. Assurez-vous que les coupes sont faites proprement et
à angle droit, sans aucune barbe.
15. Écartez le tuyau d'arrivée d'eau coupé afin de pouvoir installer la Vanne en T EZ Quick.

6. Glissez l’autre bout du tuyau dans l’extrémité libre du raccord et poussez jusqu’à ce
q
u’il bute, à 1-1/4 po environ.
Connexion du tuyau d'arrivée d'eau à l’appareil électroménager

Raccordement du tube : si votre appareil électroménager est équipé d’un tube en PEX,
raccordez-le en utilisant le raccord union à branchement rapide de 1/4 po x 1/4 po fourni.
a. Si l’extrémité du tube est dotée d’un écrou fixe, retirez l’écrou et la virole.
b. Pour cela, faites une coupe à angle droit à l’aide d’un couteau à lame rétractable.
Vérifiez que la coupe est faite proprement et à angle droit, sans aucune barbe, et
que la surface extérieure du tube est lisse et propre.

st quand même conseillé de le couper à angle droit pour assurer une installation

arfaite sur le raccord union à branchement rapide.

. Poussez le tube de l’appareil électroménager dans l’une des extrémités du
raccord union à branchement rapide jusqu’à ce qu’il soit bien en place.
