is designed to make it easy to connect a water supply line to an appliance. The kit includes everything you need to get the job done, including a 3/8-inch EZ Quick Adapter Valve, 25 feet of 1/4-inch OD PEX tubing, a 1/4-inch OD X 1/4-inch OD quick-connect union fitting, three collet clips, a 1/4-inch brass compression nut, and a 1/4-inch plastic compression ferrule. The EZ Quick Adapter Valve is a unique feature that allows you to connect and disconnect the water supply line without the use of tools.

install this device, call a licensed plumber to perform the installation. Installation of this kit

shall be in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.

Failure to follow these instructions will void the warranty and possibly result in leaks and

property damage.

CAUTION: The EZ Quick Adapter Valve in this kit includes a pre-assembled 1/4'' collet.

Shipping and handling could cause the collet to be dislodged from the EZ Quick

Adapter Valve. Re-insert the 1/4'' collet if necessary before proceeding with the installation.

The collet should be installed in the fitting on the valve used for the 1/4'' PEX tubing.

CAUTION: Avoid exposure to U.V. rays (sunlight). Do not store or install where it will be

exposed to direct or indirect ultraviolet rays (sunlight).

CAUTION: Selecting the proper location is critical for a successful installation. Review the

following requirements to locate a suitable insertion point before beginning.

1. Water connection must be a 3/8” (9/16”-24 thread) stop valve or other fitting.

2. This kit MUST be connected to a COLD water supply line.

6.ConnectEZ Quick Adapter Valvetoexisting supply lineor stop

valveandtighten.

CAUTION:Ensurethatthewashers areretainedin theinternal

threadedpartofthe EZQuick AdapterValveand other plumbing

components.

CAUTION:DONOTOVERTIGHTEN. Overtighteningcan cause

leaks ordamage.Checkconnectionsfor leakswhenwatersupply

isturnedbackon,and then retightenasneeded.

.Connectrisertothe EZQuickAdapterValveandtighten.

8.Orientthe EZQuick AdapterValveso thatthe valvehandle

will beeasilyaccessible after installation.

CAUTION: Use only the supplied plastic ferrule.

e. Insert the end of the PEX tubing into the fitting on the appliance.Make sure that the PEX is

fullyinserted into the fitting.

f. Slide the plastic ferrule down the tubing until it seats within the fitting.

g. Slide the brass nut down the tubing, over the plastic ferrule, and thread onto the fitting on

the appliance.

h. Use an open-endedwrench to secure the nut. Maintain inward pressure on the tube when

tighteningtoensure proper seal.

CAUTION: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. The nut only has to be snug to seal the ferrule against

the tubing and fitting. Over tighteningcan cause leaks or damage to the appliance or kit

components. When properly tightened, the compression ferrule should compress the plas-

tic tubing sufficiently to not allow slippage or removal by hand.

Run Water Line to Water Supply Pipe.

The PEX tubing should not be bent to a radius smaller than 3''. Bending the

tubing to a radius smaller than 3'' can lead to failure.

NOTE: If an accesshole is required to reachthe appliance, follow steps 1 through5 below,

otherwise proceed to Installing Water Line to EZ Quick Adapter Valve.

1. Determine the location near the appliance where a 3/8'' hole willbedrilled in the floor or cabi-

net to run the PEX tubing from the EZ Quick AdapterValve to the appliance.

CAUTION: Locate the hole close to the wall to minimize risk of crushing and kinking the PEX

tubing when the appliance is moved.

Prior to drilling ensure that no electrical wires orother plumbing lines are in

the path ofthe drill bit. Failure to follow this warning could result in property damage, per-

sonalinjury, or death.

2. Drill the hole using a 3/8'' drill bit.

3. Route the PEX tubing from the appliance through the hole and allow enough

tubing to make the connection to the EZ Quick Adapter Valve.

4. Keep the remaining tubing behind the appliance to allow for movement during

installation or service.

5. Excess PEX supply line can be coiled and left behind the appliance and secured

in a convenient location or cut to length as desired.

Installing Water Line to EZ Quick Adapter Valve

1. Insert the end of the PEX tubing supplied in the kit into the 1/4'' fitting on the

side of the EZ Quick Adapter Valve. Push the tubing completely into the valve

until it fully seats.

2. Install a collet clip between the collet and the valve body to prevent the PEX

water supply line from being accidentally released. The collet clip will fit snug.

Pulling on the PEX water line once fully inserted may be necessary to get the

clip into position.

3. Ensure that the valve is in the closed position.

Final Steps

1. Turn on the water supply to the supply pipe location. If main water supply to

residence was turned off, turn it back on at this time.

2. Slowly turn on the EZ Quick Adapter Valve.

3. Inspect for leaks around all connections.

4. Inspect appliance connections for leaks.

5. If leaks occur, shut off water supply, recheck the connection per the specific in

structions for that connection, retighten connections as needed. Turn water back

on and recheck for leaks.

6. If the connected appliance was moved for this installation place it back

into position, making sure not to pinch or run over the coil of tubing. Make sure

coil is free to move.

7. Reconnect to power supply and turn appliance on per manufacturers’

instructions.

Discard the first few batches of ice or first few gallons of water

produced after installation to assure there are no contaminants in the system.

(Refer to your appliance manufacturer’s instructions).

6. Connectez la Vanne à Raccord EZ Quick au tuyau

d’arrivée d’eau ou au robinet d’arrêt existant et serrez.

EZ Quick et dans les autres éléments de plomberie.

Connecting the Water Supply Line to Appliance

1. Ensure that appliance to be connected is turned off and disconnected from power supply

see manufacturer’s instructions).

2. Determine the fitting required for your specific appliance.

(See appliance manual for more information).

Tubing Connection:If there is a length of PEX or polyethylene tubing extending from the appliance, connect

it by using the 1/4'' x 1/4'' quick-connect union fitting included in the kit.

a. If the appliance tubing ends with a captured nut, remove the nut and ferrule.

b. To remove the nut and ferrule, make a clean square cut using a utility knife. Check to make sure that

the cut is clean and square, with no burrs, and that the outside surface of the tube is smooth

and clean.

c. Note: If appliance tubing does not include a captured nut, you may still need to make a clean cut

to ensure that the tube will seat properly in the quick-connect union fitting.

d. Push the tubing from the appliance into one end of the quick-connect

union fitting until it is fully seated.

e. Push the PEX water line supplied in the kit into the other end of the

quick-connect union fitting until fully seated.

f. Insert the 1/4'' collet clips that are included in the kit to secure the

union connections. Slipping the red clips between the collets and the

union body will prevent them from being compressed which could

release the tubing. The collet clips will fit snug. Pulling on the PEX

water line once fully inserted may be necessary to get the clips

into position.

Threaded Fitting:If the appliance is supplied with a male-threaded 1/4'' compression fitting, it can be

connected using the brass nut and plastic ferrule included in the kit.

a. Examine the end of the PEX tube supplied with this kit to ensure that the end is square and free of

burrs and that the outside surface of the tube is smooth and clean.

. If the tubing ends are damaged, make a clean cut with a utility knife to remove a portion of the

EX tubing.

c. Insert the end of the PEX tubing supplied in the kit into the hole on the top of the brass nut included in

the kit. Slide the brass nut a few inches up the tubing.

d. Slide the plastic ferrule onto the end of the PEX tubing included in the kit. The tapered end should point

towards the end of the PEX tubing.

6. This kit is supplied with a 25 feet length of PEX tubing; plan your installation allowing

enough tubing at the appliance for movement during installation or service.

7. The EZ Quick Adapter Valve must be visible and accessible to allow operation of the

shutoff feature. It is not meant for installations behind walls or above drop ceilings.

CAUTION: Water will drain when disconnecting riser. Take adequate precautions that water

will not drip on any electrical devices or items that will stain or be damaged. A container

to catch the water that drains out from the riser is recommended.

8. This EZ Quick Adapter Valve will add up to 1 1/2'' inches of length to the existing piping

system. A flexible riser is recommended to accommodate the added length.

9. Plan the path from the installation point of the EZ Quick Adapter Valve to the appliance

location to ensure tubing will reach and that there are no obstructions or objects that could

damage the tubing.

10. This kit includes fittings for most appliance connections; inspect your appliance and the

supplied fittings to ensure compatibility.

Fittings used in this kit are made from materials that can be compromised by

exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and caustic chemicals. DO NOT expose this

product to any such chemical or foreign substance, including exposure to the following:

Pipe dopes (liquid thread sealants), leak check compounds, bug sprays, lubricants,

cleaners, paints, bleaches, acids, solder fluxes, plastic piping primers and cements,

oxidizing agents, alkaline solutions, thinners, fuels, oil based caulk, hydrocarbons, spray

foam or foaming agents ( i.e. insulation).

Installing EZ Quick Adapter Valve in Water Supply

1. Ensure that the pre-assembled 1/4'' collet is inserted in the EZ Quick Adapter Valve before

proceeding.

2. Identify the COLD water line where you will install the EZ Quick Adapter Valve.

3. Assurez-vous que l’arrivée d’eau est fermée avant de commencer l’installation.

MISE EN GARDE : la Vanne à Raccord EZ Quick de ce kit est dotée d’une bague de serrage
