Cleaning and Disinfecon
These instrucons do not replace the facility’s own cleaning and disinfecon policies.
Warnings:
To help prevent injury and/or equipment damage, obey these warnings:
• Warning—The potenal for electrical shock exists with electrical equipment. Failure to follow facility protocol could cause
death or serious injury.
• Warning—Do not reuse wiping material for mulple steps or on mulple products.
• Warning—Harmful cleaning soluons may cause skin rash and/or irritaon upon contact.
Follow the manufacturer’s instrucons found on the product label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

unl it is completely dry, tested, and found to be safe to operate.
Cauons:
To help prevent equipment damage, obey these cauons:
• Cauon—Do not steam clean or power wash the li. Pressure and excessive moisture can damage
the protecve surfaces of the li and its electrical components.

For proper cleaning and disinfecon, sta members should be trained.
The trainer should carefully read the instrucons and follow them when the trainee is being trained.
The trainee should:
• Be given me to read the instrucons and to ask any quesons.
• Clean and disinfect the product while the trainer supervises. During, and/or aer this process,
the trainer should correct the trainee about any dierences from the instrucons for use.
The trainer should supervise the trainee unl the trainee can clean and disinfect the li as instructed.
Hill-Rom recommends to clean and disinfect the li between paent use and regularly during extended paent stays.
Some uids used in the hospital environment, such as iodophor and zinc oxide creams, can cause
permanent stains. Remove temporary stains by wiping vigorously with a lightly-dampened wiping
cloth.
Cleaning and Disinfecon Overview:
