Safety Instrucons
Before liing, keep the following points in mind:
• Ensurethattheliingaccessoryisproperlyaachedtotheli.
• WerecommendthatatleasttwocaregiversassistduringliingwithLikoStretch™Mod 600 ICaccessory.
• Plantheliingoperaonsothatitcanbedoneassafelyandsmoothlyaspossible.
• Beforethepaentisliedfromtheunderlyingsurface,butwhenthestrapsarefullyextended,make sure thatthestraps
arecorrectlyconnectedtothestretcher.
• Makesurethatanycastorsonbeds,gurney,etc.,arelockedduringliing/transferringoperaon.However, the mobileli’s
castorsshouldbeunlockedwhenitisusedwiththestretcher.
• BecauseLikoStretchMod 600 ICaccessoryhasself-lockinglistraps,thepaentmustrestcompletelyon
a solid surface beforethestrapsareloosened.
Never leave a paent unaended during a liing situaon.
The stretcher must not be modied under any circumstance. If you have any quesons, please contact Hill-Rom.

Liing with Straps
Placethecarryingstrapsunderthebodyindesiredposions;thenumberofstrapsrequiredistobedeterminedbythe
responsiblenursingstafromcasetocase(seealternavesbelow).Forsafetyreasons,LikoStretchMod 600 ICaccessoryis
designedsothatthestrapsself-lockwhenloadisappliedtocorrectlyaachedstraps.Therefore, thepaentmustbelowered
tothebedbeforethestrapscanbeloosenedandmoved.
Threadthespatulaintothelilepocketonthestrap.Turn
thestrapsothatthepocketfacesdownward.Posioning
thestrapsismucheasierifthesurface/bedsheetistaut
andeven.
Placethestrapsunderthepaentusingthespatula.Hold
thestrapabout40°fromthebedandcarefullypushthe
spatuladiagonallydownwardandinward.
Beginbylayingoutthestrapsabovetheposionsonthebodywherethestrapswillsubsequentlyli.

Graspthestrapontheoppositesideandpullitoutsothat
itisequallylongonbothsides.Aseachstrapisposioned,
arrangethestrapendsontopofthepaent.
RemovetheSideRailsandthreadthestrapsthrough
thestraplocks,asillustrated.NOTE! Always begin by
threading the straps from the head end downwards.
The straplockscanslidesidewaysto correspondtothe
posionofthestraps.

centreofgravity,usuallyjustbelowthe navel.
PulltheSideRailtowardsyou.ThentwisttheSideRailone
wholeturn(360°),asshownintheillustraon.NOTE!
The strap ends are then under the straps.
PlacetheSideRailsinthestretcher’slirailsothatthey
lockinposion.Makesurethatthestrapsdonotget
jammedbetweenthelirailandtheSideRail;ifso,adjust
thelirailwiththehandleontheundersideorreposion
thestrap.
TurntheredsafetycatchinovertheSideRail.(Notethat
evenaparalturning,i.e.lessthan180°,willsecurethe
SideRailfrombeingunhookedunintenonally.)

Tighteneachstrapbypullingthestrapendinwards–
slightlydownwardstowardsthepaent,as showninthe
illustraon.
Liingcanbegin.Checktoensurethatthepaentis
suspendedindesiredposion,i.e.horizontallyornormally
withtheheadslightlyhigher. See Adjusng the centre of
gravity during liing with straps,page 9.

When liing has been completed, remove the straps according to the descripon below.
Lowerthepaenttoasolidbase.Loosenthestrapsby
liingstraightup,asshowninthepicture.Whenallthe
strapshavebeenloosenedtheSideRailcanbeunhooked
andremoved.Remembertoturnbackthesafetycatchso
thatitisata90°angleinrelaontothelirail.
Removethestrapsbycarefullyguidingthemunderthe
paentwiththehelpofthespatula.Forleastfriconpush
thestrapendsunderthestrapsthemselves.Alternavely,
gentlypullthestrapsoutfromunderthepaentwithoutthe
spatula.
Adjusng the centre of gravity during liing with straps
If thepaentisnotbalancedduringliing,adjustthisby
loweringthepaentontoasolidbasesothatweightcan
berelievedfromthestraps.In thisposiontheSideRails
canbemovedalongthestretcher’slirailinorderto
achievethecorrectbalance.
WiththeStretchLeveller(seepage 5)thecentreofgravity
canbeeasilyregulatedwhilethepaentisinanelevated
posion(lied)byturningtheknobsontheStretch
Leveller.
By adjusng the posion of the stretcher. With the liing accessory Stretch Leveller
Care and Maintenance
Fortrouble-freeuse,certaindetailsshouldbecheckedbeforeeachuse:
• inspectthestretcherandliingaccessoriestomakesurethatthereisnoexternaldamage
• checkthatthesafetycatchesarefunconing.
Whennecessary,cleanthestretcherwithamoistcloth,usingwarmwaterordisinfectants.
NOTE! Do not use cleaning agents that contain phenol or chlorine, since these can damage aluminum and polyamide
material.
The stretcher should not be exposed to running water.
Service
Aperiodicinspeconofthestretchershouldbecarriedoutatleastonceperyear.
PeriodicinspeconshouldbeperformedbypersonnelauthorizedbyHill-Rom.
Serviceactivitiesarenotallowedwiththepatientinthestretcher.
Service Agreement
Hill-RomoerstheopportunitytoenterintoservicecontractsforthemaintenanceandregularinspeconofyourLiko
product.
Expected Life Time
Theproducthasanexpectedlifemeof10yearswhencorrectlyhandled,servicedandperiodicallyinspected
inaccordancewithLiko’sinstrucons.
Recycling Instrucons
Thestretchershouldberecycledasscrapmetal.
Hill-Romevaluatesandprovidesguidancetoitsusersonthesafehandlinganddisposalofitsdevicestoaidintheprevenon
ofinjury,including,butnotlimitedto:cuts,puncturesoftheskin,abrasions,andanyrequiredcleaninganddisinfeconofthe
medicaldeviceaeruseandpriortoitsdisposal.Customersshouldadheretoallfederal,state,regional,and/orlocallawsand
regulaonsasitpertainstothesafedisposalofmedicaldevicesandaccessories.
Ifindoubt,theuserofthedeviceshallrstcontactHill-RomTechnicalSupportforguidanceonsafedisposalprotocols.
