This document describes how to set up client PC (where you use Video Redirection function) in order to
use Video Redirection function in PRIMEQUEST 1000, 2000 and 3000 series.
This document also shows validation results of Video Redirection function and troubleshooting for Video
Redirection function.

Chapter 1.1 About Java required to use Video Redirection function
Fujitsu recommends that you should use Java based on OpenJDK which is released free of charge which
you install on a client PC where you use Video Redirection function.
Official update of Oracle Java which is released free of charge by Oracle Corporation is no longer available
on January 2019. (Final update is released on January 15, 2019)
If you want to continue using Oracle Java (Java 8), you need a Charged contract. Therefore, Fujitsu
supports AdoptOpenJDK and IcedTea-Web which are Java based on OpenJDK where you use Video
Redirection function.

- Regarding the Oracle Java
If you keep using Oracle Java8 released free of charge by Oracle Corporation in future, your PC is
likely to be exposed to risk such as computer virus infection by exploiting a vulnerability due to
discover of new one. Update version of Oracle Java8 is no longer available if you do not sign an
onerous contract with Oracle Corporation.
Please note that Fujitsu do not validation of Video Redirection function by using Oracle Java8 which
is released after January 15, 2019 even though you sign an onerous contract with Oracle Corporation.
- Regarding the Microsoft Windows7
Support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, 2020. Microsoft will no longer provide Windows updates
and security patches. Please note that AVR using Windows 7 will not be supported.

Chapter 2. How to install Java package based on OpenJDK
This section describes how to install AdoptOpenJDK and IcedTea-Web based on OpenJDK on Windows
operating systems.
[Note]
In the PRIMEQUEST series, the recommended Java based on OpenJDK when launching Video
Redirection (Java Viewer) has been changed from Zulu to AdoptOpenJDK. Therefore, future verification
of Video Redirection (Java Viewer) will be performed using AdoptOpenJDK. If you are using Zulu, please
change to AdoptOpenJDK.
Chapter 2.1 Downloading Java package based on OpenJDK
You can download packages in websites below.

Chapter 2.2 Installing Java package based on OpenJDK to client PC
This section describes how to install Java package based on OpenJDK to client PC by using example of
AdoptOpenJDK.
[Note]
1. Whether it can be installed on the client PC.
Depending on the client PC you are using, depending on the security settings, you may be asked for
permission to install or your installation may be blocked. Therefore, please check the security
settings in advance so that installation can be performed without problems on the client PC.
2. Case of using Zulu on a client PC.
Zulu will no longer be used to start Video Redirection (Java Viewer). If you do not use it for other
purposes, please uninstall Zulu.
- If you have 64-bit windows, uninstall Zulu with Programs and Features of control panel.
- If you have 32-bit windows, please delete folder of C:¥Program Files¥Zulu. (It will be the folder
where manual installation was performed when Zulu was used before.)
The description of system environment variables path setting is no longer necessary, delete the
description if it is not necessary for other purposes.
3. About the install version of AdoptOpenJDK and IcedTea-Web
Please install the latest verified versions of AdoptOpenJDK and IcedTea package. The latest version
will be described in Chapter 4. Please check before downloading the package.
4. Case of using the Video Redirection start tool
For machine using the previously released main unit FW shown below, use the start tool (Video
Redirection start tool) to use Video Redirection. When using this tool, please install the
AdoptOpenJDK for 32-bit MSI module, even if the client PC system type is Windows 64-bit operating
system.

When starting the Video redirection on the above machine of FW version, Client PC needs installing
AdoptOpenJDK (32 bit). Even if IcedTea-Web is installed, there is no problem in operation.

Chapter 2.2.1 How to install AdoptOpenJDK
The following is an example of accessing the Download Site of AdoptOpenJDK, downloading the MSI
module corresponding to the system type (32bit version or 64bit version) of each client PC from the Archive
page, and installing it.
The AdoptOpenJDK package that should be used is OpenJDK 8(LTS) and the HotSpot JVM’s MSI.
The following is an example of OpenJDK with Hotspot 8.0.212.04 (jdk8u212-b04). (If you have installed
the previous AdoptOpenJDK, please uninstall the old AdoptOpenJDK from "Programs and Features" of
the control panel.)
[Steps]
Step 1. Access to the AdoptOpenJDK Download site.
Step 2. Check OpenJDK 8 (LTS) in Choose a Version.
Step 3. Check HotSpot in Choose a JVM.
Step 4. Select the above, and click “Release Archive & Nightly Builds”

Step 5. Select and download the MSI module corresponding to the client system type (32 bit or 64 bit).
- If system type is 64 bit Windows, click and download windows x64 JDK (*1).
(OpenJDK8U-jdk_x64_windows_hotspot_8u212b04.msi will be downloaded.)
- If system type is 32 bit Windows, click and download windows x32 JDJ (*2).

Step 6. Install OpenJDK using the downloaded MSI module.

- Execute MSI module and Click “next” in setup wizard.
- After reading the license agreement, check "I accept the terms of the license agreement" and click
"Next."

Chapter 2.2.2 How to install IcedTea-Web
The following is an example of accessing the Download Site of IcedTea-Web, downloading the MSI
module or ZIP module corresponding to the system type (32bit or 64bit) of each client PC from the
Archive page, and installing it.
- 64-bit OS Windows: download MSI module.

Step 3. Install the Icedtea-web using the downloaded MSI or ZIP module.
