packaged system combines the electric cooling
convenience of an air conditioner with the gas-
heat energy-efficiency of a furnace. It operates
at lower capacity during mild summer days and
at full capacity during hotter
ones. Because this unit runs at
a reduced capacity, it provides
better comfort and performs
more quietly than
single-stage units.
Variable-speed units improve air circulation by
minimizing temperature variations and reducing hot
and cold spots. When the fan runs continuously,
it reduces electrical consumption by almost 80%
over products with conventional blowers.
Advanced Technology
On gas/electric packaged systems, the SmartStart
®
Control Board learns the igniter’s heat-up characteristics.
It then adapts the ignition time to the packaged
system’s characteristics, resulting in extending the
life of the igniter.
These packaged systems feature enhanced evaporator
coils to better combat corrosion.
Durability and Style
These models feature polyester, urethane-coated
galvanized steel with a 950-hour salt spray finish,
which protects the unit from corrosion 50% better
than other coatings.

Thanks to its impressive efficiency, the Maytag

iQ Drive Comfort System delivers some of the
lowest sound levels in the industry. Today’s traditional
compressors operate at 3,600 rpm power. So even
with full insulation, sound blanket, sound-absorbing
base, lubricated motor and swept fan blade, they
make enough noise to be heard inside the home. By

Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating of 14.0 or higher and an
Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 11.0 or higher.

the Highest Energy Efficiency
The Maytag
®
iQ Drive gas/electric packaged system
utilizes inverter rotary technology to achieve the highest
packaged system efficiency level available today. Traditional
compressors just turn on and off, operating at 60 hertz
when running. But iQ Drive inverter technology modulates
in five increments from 40 to 118 percent of capacity.
And it runs as low as 15 hertz, so it uses less power.
So while traditional compressors kick on at full speed
to compensate for a small change in temperature,
iQ Drive inverter technology alters the compressor
speed just enough to match the slightest change in air
temperature. In addition to minimal power utilization,
you get a more consistent temperature level – and less
hot and cold spots – at all times.
Annual costs based on 36,000 Btu units, 1,500 cooling load hours and .08/kwh. Actual costs
