14 SEER, 95% AFUE Gas/Electric Packaged Systems

Westinghouse has raised the bar on energy efficiency with the
14 SEER/95% AFUE packaged gas/electric system. Most other
packaged systems achieve only 80% AFUE or a little higher. Our
Westinghouse system reaches an unprecedented efficiency level
of 95% AFUE, potentially saving you hundreds of dollars on your
gas bill every winter.
AFUE measures the amount of heat actually delivered to your
house compared to the amount of fuel that you must supply.
Thus, a gas/electric packaged system that has an 80% AFUE
rating converts 80% of the fuel that you supply to heat – the other
20% is lost out of the chimney. The higher the number, the more
efficiently your system operates.
For example, the 95% AFUE rating, which means that the gas/
electric packaged system functions at or above 95% efficiency, is
the highest rating available on packaged systems today.
More than just better indoor comfort, we want you to feel
comfortable investing in a product that will perform when you
need it most. Each Westinghouse packaged product is checked
approximately 78 times during the manufacturing process then
run-tested to check operation performance. In the final analysis,
computer-automated testing is performed to capture operation
data for future reference should your contractor ever need it.
Westinghouse packaged systems are built with proven components
to provide safe, clean and reliable comfort year-round. All packaged
systems feature Anteater® or Anteater MC® Micro-Channel evaporator
coils for increased resistance to formicary corrosion, the number
one cause of coil leaks.

Westinghouse offers you the perfect choice for
consistent home comfort. Let cold winds blow outside,
because your Westinghouse packaged system will
provide a consistent temperature while improving
comfort. The two-stage heating technology works at
a higher capacity on colder days or lower capacity
on mild days to improve air circulation and minimize
indoor temperature variations.
The SmartLite® control board learns the igniter’s heat-
up characteristics. It then adapts the ignition time
to the packaged systems characteristics, resulting in
extending the life of the igniter. The SmartLite control
board contains a program that varies the igniter heat-
up time interval. It learns the heat-up characteristics
of the igniter in the packaged systems by searching
for the threshold of ignition failure. It then adjusts the
heat-up interval on the next trial accordingly. This is
accomplished by microchip software programming.
The cabinet is finished with a Silicone-protective
polyurethane coating that passed a 950 hour salt
spray test for harsher climates. It protects your unit
from corrosion 50% more than standard outdoor
finishes. Its wire guard coated with earth-friendly
epoxy and hail guard protect coil against flying debris.
Fan blade design combined with custom condenser
fan orifice delivers quiet operation.
Westinghouse two-stage, variable-speed gas/electric

built to exacting standards of quality
and durability, the manufacturer’s
confidence shows in its warranty.
Westinghouse products offer a 10-year limited
warranty on all parts, and a 10-year Quality Pledge
at no extra cost (when product is registered).
With our 10-year Quality Pledge, we will replace
the entire unit should the compressor or heat
exchanger fail within the first 10 years, registration
required.

ENERGY STAR® certification is awarded to products designed to reduce
energy consumption and utility costs. To qualify, gas/electric, iHybrid,
packaged air conditioner and heat pump systems must have a Seasonal
Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating of 14.0 or higher and an Energy
Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 11.0 or higher. Packaged heat pumps must also
have a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.0 or higher.
