Media type functionality & features and choose the most appropriate media.
It is essential you have the media type correctly calibrated with the printer, refer to
Calibrate
my printer.
In order to get a correct display, it’s also essential you have the monitor calibrated, refer to
Profile my monitor.
1. Open the EFI Designer Edition RIP.
2. EFI Designer Edition RIP settings, Preferences:
Select the Color tab:
o Color output preset: Select Proofing.
o Image profiles > Input RGB: Select the source profile of your file if it is RGB
or have any RGB image, select Add profile button to add it. If you don’t have it,
select one from the list and Perceptual.
o Image profiles > Input CMYK: Select the press profile you want to emulate
and Relative Colorimetric intent (Select Absolute Colorimetric if you want to
emulate the white of the paper). Press Add profile button to add the profile on
the list if it is not there.
o Media profiles (output):
Paper name: Select the paper type that is loaded in the printer (always
calibrated).
Print quality: Best.

Select the Layout tab:
o Orientation: Select the orientation of your image on the paper.
o Set the Alignment and the Scaling settings you need.
Select the Printer tab:
o Paper size: Select the paper size of the media loaded in the printer.
Click OK.
3. Add button, browse your file and select Open or drag and drop the file to the spool panel.
4. Check the print layout before printing, select the file and select the Preview button, if it is ready
select Print. If you need to retouch a setting, you can do it in the Individual Job Settings
(View menu > Job Info).
