1.Switchoffthepowertotheunit.
2.Cleanthecamerabodywithaclean,softcottoncloth.You
canmoistentheclothanduseamilddetergentifrequired.
3.Cleanthecameralens.
Rinsethelenswithfreshwatertoremovealldirtparticles
andsaltdeposits,andallowtodrynaturally.
Ifanyspotsorsmearsremain,verygentlywipethelens
windowwithacleanmicrobreclothorsoftcottoncloth.
Ifnecessary,useisopropylalcohol(IPA)oramilddetergent
toremoveanyremainingspotsormarks.

CorrectinstallationisrequiredtoensurethatEMCperformance

ForoptimumEMCperformancewerecommendthatwherever
possible:
Raymarineequipmentandcablesconnectedtoitare:
Atleast1m(3ft)fromanyequipmenttransmittingor
cablescarryingradiosignalse.g.VHFradios,cablesand
antennas.InthecaseofSSBradios,thedistanceshould
beincreasedto7ft(2m).
Morethan2m(7ft)fromthepathofaradarbeam.A
radarbeamcannormallybeassumedtospread20degrees
aboveandbelowtheradiatingelement.
Theproductissuppliedfromaseparatebatteryfromthatused
forenginestart.Thisisimportanttopreventerraticbehavior
anddatalosswhichcanoccuriftheenginestartdoesnot
haveaseparatebattery.

Thedcpowersystemshouldbeeither:
Negativegrounded,withthenegativebatteryterminal
connectedtothevessel'sground;or
Floating,withneitherbatteryterminalconnectedtothe
vessel'sground.
Ifseveralitemsrequiregrounding,theymayrstbeconnected
toasinglelocalpoint(e.g.withinaswitchpanel),withthispoint
connectedviaasingle,appropriately-ratedconductor,tothe
vessel’scommonRFgroundpoint.

WhenmountingintheBalldowncongurationtheimage
orientationmustbechangedtoinverttheimage.Ifrequired,the
imageorientationshouldbechangedpriortoinstallation.
Thewebinterfacecanbeusedtoinvertthevideoorientation.
1.SelectSetupfromthewebinterface.
2.ScrolldowntoImageOrientation.
3.ClickthedropdownboxandselectInvert.
Thevideoimageisnowinverted.
4.SelectSaveSettings.
Note:Thevideoimageorientationcanalsobeinvertedusing
theOn-ScreenDisplaymenu:Menu>SystemSetup>

Locationrequirement
Whenplanningtheinstallationlocation,considerthefollowing
points:
Thecameraiswaterproof,andappropriateforabovedecks
mounting.
Theunderside(inside)ofthecompartmentordeckonto
whichthecameraismountedmustbeweather-tight.You
mustensureprotectionfromwateringresstocablesand
connections.
Themountingsurfacemustbehorizontal.
Ifyoucannotaccessbothsidesofthemountingsurface,then
youwillneedtomountthecamera“topdown”.
Fixingsaresuppliedforamountingsurfaceofupto41mm
(1.6in)thick.Athickersurfacewillrequiretheinstallerto
providealternativexings.
Thecameramountingsurfacemustbeatleastaslargeas
thefootprintofthecameraitselftoensureanadequateseal
withtheO-ring.
Thecamerashouldbemountedashighaspractical,
butwithoutinterferingwithanyradar,navigationalor
communicationselectronics.
Choosealocationthatwillprovidethemostunobstructed
viewinalldirections.
Choosealocationasclosetothevessel’scenterlineas
possible.Thisprovidesasymmetricalviewwhenlooking
forwardoraft.
Selectalocationforthecamerathatisatleast7cm(2.75in.)
fromanymagneticcompass.
Selectalocationthatisatleast1m(3ft)fromdevicesthat
maycauseinterference,suchasmotors,generatorsandradio
transmitters/receivers.
IfinstallinganoptionalJCU,selectalocationfortheJCUthat
isatleast11cm(4.33in.)fromanymagneticcompass.

1.Placeboththumbsonthecameraballassembly,abovethe
cameralens.
2.Pushyourthumbsdownwards,whilstpullingthecoveraway
fromthebaseofthecamerawiththerestofyourgrip.
3.Oncethecoverisdetached,slideitupandoffthecamera.

Ifthereislimitedspaceoryouwantthecableconnectiontobe
madeinternallyfollowthestepsbelow.

1.Removethecamera’soutercover.
2.Unscrewthelightgreycablecapturenutsonbothofthe
cableglandsonthebaseofthecamera.
3.Pulltherubberglandsandclampingclawsoutofthebore
holes.
4.Pullbothcablesupthroughthebase.
5.Removetherubbergland,clampingclawandcapturenut
frombothcables.
6.Connectthecamera’sethernetcabletooneendofthe
ethernetcoupler(supplied).
7.Threadtheexternalethernetandvideocablesthroughthe
boreholes.
8.Threadtheexternalethernetcablethroughtherubbergland,
clampingclawandcapturenut.
9.Connecttheexternalethernetcabletotheotherendofthe
ethernetcoupler.
10.Usingthezipties(supplied)securetheethernetcouplerto
therearofthecameraballassembly.
11.Pullanyexcesscablebackthroughtheborehole.
12.Securetheethernetcablebyreassemblingtherubbergland
andclampingclawintotheboreholeandtighteningthe
capturenut.
13.Feedthecamera’svideocablearoundthefrontofthe
cameraballassembly.
14.ApplyLocktitetobothendsofafemaletofemaleconnector.
15.Connectafemaletofemaleconnectortothecamera’svideo
cable.

16.Feedtheexternalvideocablethroughtheborehole.
17.Connecttheexternalvideocabletotheotherendofthe
femaletofemaleconnector.
18.Wrapthevideoconnectionwithmarinegradesealingtape
(e.g.3MScotch-Seal2229orequivalent).
19.Securethevideocabletothefrontoftheballassemblyusing
theziptie(supplied).
20.Pullanyexcesscablebackthroughtheborehole.
21.Securethevideocablebyreassemblingtherubbergland
andclampingclawintotheboreholeandtighteningthe
capturenut.
