HDD Installation:
a) For 2.5 SATA HDD (SSD):
Put HDD onto the tray as shown on Picture A-1 and use the provided screws to
secure HDD on the tray one by one.
b) For 2.5 SAS HDD or HDDs thickness is more than 10.5mm:
Loose the cover-mounting screw and remove the top cover. Mount the SAS HDD
or the thick HDD on the open tray.
(Note: after SAS HDD installed, do not put back the top cover (see Picture A-2.).
Put the top cover in a safe place, in case you need it next time.)
---Safety Lock---
The key lock design keeps the HDDs staying inside the unit and prevents HDDs being
taken out while they are running (See Picture B1 & B2.)
a) OPEN the HDD Tray:
Push the Clicker Lock on the front panel and pull the HDD tray out (see Picture B-1.)
b) LOCK the HDD Tray:
Slide in the HDD tray and press the front handle and use the key to lock the HDD tray
onto the unit one by one (see picture B-2.)

C1 to C4: HDD Tray C5: Key lock for HDD tray
C6: LED: *Purple blinking while HDD is accessing. *Solid blue when HDD is installed
* Note: When HDD is installed but it is not powered on, there is no LED indication.
D7: 15pin SATA power connector
D8 to D9: Cooling Fan
D11, D13, D15, D17: Primary Channel
for SATA or SAS HDD data ports
D10, D12, D14, D16: Secondary Channel
for SAS HDD data ports & advanced users.
*Note for Connections:
a) For SATA HDDs, they are supported by Primary ports
(D11, D13, D15, and D17) only.
b) For SAS HDDs, they are supported by both Primary & Secondary channels.
c) Dual channel SAS control card or two systems (PC) are needed if both primary &
secondary ports need to be used simultaneously.
D18: HDD LED Switch Indication description:
a) When it is set toX position, the front LED does NOT blink while HDD is being
accessed.
In this case, the hard drives will spin up when the system power is turned on.
b) When it is set to O position, it will blink in blue while the HDD is being accessed.
In this case, the HDD will not spin up until the SATA initial signal is received.
(c) The default setting for D18 (HDD LED Switch) is to O position (HDD LED Enable).
