To achieve best results for outside use, the
Sensor Light should be mounted on a wall of a
building, often replacing an existing light tting.
Ideally the Sensor Light should be mounted
2 metres (7ft) above the area to be scanned.
(Refer Fig. 1)
The unit is suitable for permanent outdoor
installation
To avoid damage to unit - do not aim the
sensor towards the sun.
To avoid nuisance triggering, the sensor
should be directed away from heat sources
such as barbeques, air conditioners, other
outside lighting, moving cars and ue vents.
Do not aim towards reective surfaces such as
smooth white walls, swimming pools etc.
The Sensor Light scanning specications
(approximately 8 metres at 120°) (Refer Fig. 2)
may vary slightly depending on the mounting
height and location. The detection range of the
unit may also alter with temperature change.
Before selecting a place to install the Sensor
light you should note that movement across the
beam is more effective than directly toward or
away from the sensor (Refer Fig. 3).
THE SENSOR LIGHT muST BE
INSTALLED BY A LICENSED
ELECTRICIAN.
Your Sensor Light must be wired to its own
switch. Do not interconnect with other lights on
the same switch.
For installation/maintenance purposes the
electrical supply must be isolated at the
switchboard by removing the fuse or switching
the circuit breaker OFF. Simply isolating the
electrical supply at the wall switch is not
sufcient isolation to prevent an electrical shock.
STEp 1
Remove front trim and diffuser from lamp body
by undoing top screws. Position lamp body
against wall and mark by undoing the top
screw marking mounting screw positions.
Make allowance in positioning for the cable to
wire the light to enter through the cable entry
hole at the bottom left of the lamp body.
STEp 2
Drill the wall to take suitable mounting screws.
Care should be taken to avoid drilling or
screwing into concealed electrical wiring.
For solid brick we suggest that you use
screws and masonry plugs. Fix the mounting
bracket to the wall, leading the supply cable
through the cable entry of the mounting
bracket.
Your Sensor Light is now ready to be wired.
STEp 6
Insert light globe into tting (60 watt max.
ES globe - not supplied).
STEp 7
Ret diffuser and front trim. Ensure silicone
rubber gasket is correctly in place.

NOTE: It is advisable to use a separate
independent wall switch to ensure the simplest
operation of this unit.
In normal operation when rst switched on,
the unit will operate only in automatic mode.
The unit will not operate the lamp in daylight.
When dark, the light will be activated by
movement across the detection area.
To switch off completely, switch the wall
switch to OFF.
This Sensor light has a built-in photoelectric cell
that automatically senses daylight and keeps
the light off during daylight hours.
NOTE:
1. This highly responsive unit may occasionally
activate due to rapid environment changes.
2. To avoid false triggering do not install this unit
near wiring of large appliances such as
air conditioners, refrigerators, uorescent
lights etc.
3. When rst switching on allow approximately
30 seconds warm up time for sensor
operation to settle to normal sensitivity.
During daylight hours, the unit can be ‘walk’
tested by turning the daylight level (“LUX”) control
fully clockwise. Test by switching the unit on and
walk slowly across the detection area.
Check that the light will remain on for a period
set by adjusting the timer, from approx 10 seconds
to 3 minutes depending on the setting after
the last movement in the sensing area occurs.
(Refer to adjusting the daylight level and
time delay)
First, switch off the mains power to the unit. If
unit has been operating, allow it to cool before
handling. Open the lamp by unscrewing the
fasteners on the front trim and diffuser, then
remove the diffuser and remove/replace bulb,
(use only 240 volt a.c. ES bulb 60 watt max),
ret diffuser. Compact uorescent bulbs may be
tted in this light.
For normal operation, the daylight level (“LUX”)
control is set to fully anti-clockwise. For walk
testing in daylight the LUX control is set fully
clockwise.
If you nd in normal operation that you would
like the light to come on sooner, adjust slightly
back from the full anti-clockwise position. See
gure 5 below. To adjust the time delay turn the
time adjusting arrow clockwise to increase the
delay and anti-clockwise to decrease the
delay. The time delay is from approximately
10 seconds to 3 minutes. It is recommended
to use shorter time delays.

Light does not switch ON when there
is movement in the detection area.
1. No mains voltage. Check all connections, and fuses/switches.
2. Globe faulty or missing. Check. Replace.
3. Wiring incorrect. Re-check.
4. Nearby lighting is too bright. Redirect other lights or relocate unit.
Light switches ON for
no apparent reason.
1. Heat sources such as aircon. vents,
heater ues, barbecues or very cold
objects are near sensor.
Remove these sources if possible.
2. Animals/birds e.g. possums or
domestic animals.
Nil
3. Interference from on/off switching of
electric fans or lights on the same
circuit as your Sensor Light.
(This problem does not always occur
but a faulty switch or noisy uorescent
light may cause the Sensor Light to
switch on.)
Should the false triggering become
troublesome, consider:
(A) Replacing a faulty switch.
(B) Replacing noisy uorescent tubes
and/or starters.
(C) Connecting the Sensor Light to a
separate circuit. (In most cases where
one or more of the above suggestions
have been carried out, false triggering
has been reduced.)
4. Voltage surges Nil
5. Radio frequency transmissions from
mobile phones, CB’s etc.
Nil
6. On during daytime. Check daylight level (“LUX”) control is
fully anti-clockwise.
Light remains ON . 1. Wiring is incorrect. Recheck wiring.
2. Time delay set too long. Turn time control anti-clockwise
To avoid dust build up and ensure proper functioning of the Sensor Light, wipe the sensor lens lightly
with a damp cloth every 3 months.
Care should be taken when cleaning to prevent scratching. A soft cloth or ne-hair brush should be
used together with a nonabrasive cleaner. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners on any part of
your Sensor Light.
