Device Overview

The TSP40Plus is a device composed by a printer with a dual-side scanner with an ADF (Automatic

Document Feeder) in order to handle up to 50 document together and a PS (Paper Stacker) in order to stack

them after the operation.

PRT0730 TSP40plus with Scanner RGB interface RS232 and USB2.0

PRT0735 TSP40plus with Scanner RGB/IR/UV interface RS232 and USB 2.0

PRT0736 TSP40plus with Scanner RGB/IR/UV interface RS232 and N. 2 USB2.0

Installation

Notify any damage to the supplier

In the carton box are present these components:

Always take the original carton box in a place in order to be use them for a safe

transportation of the device.

Device Installation (Printer and ADF)

Before installation look for a suitable location

Please consider the following points when the location for the device installation is choosen:

The space must be horizontal, stable and

robust.

The unit should not be exposed to direct

sunlight and should not be in the damp, dusty,

too hot or cold.

The distance should be adjusted to the length

of the interface and power cables.

When printing, the paper comes-out partially

from the rear of the printer, therefore provide for

a margin of space around it as shown so that

the movement of the paper remains free.

In addition, the ADF is installed with the rails

open. The figure shows the space with ADF in

the open position.

Firstly locate the four plastic

guides oft he basement (output

stacker) highlighted with (A) on

which the printer will be set..

Then locate the two ADF locking rails on the

rear side of the basement.

To unlock them, raise and moves in the rear

part.

Locate the four openings slots in the bottom of

the printer. They must be aligned with the rails in

the tray for mounting the printer.

Gently place the printer by aligning the holes in

the rails A.

The printer is now in the correct position.

In the figures on the right is shown the detail of

the ADF rail in closed and open positions.

The ADF has two openings in the bottom that

must align with the support B provided in the

guide.

Once inserted in the ADF support B and the

ADF cables are inserted into the respective

printer connectors, move the ADF against the

printer until the latch is inserted in the socket,

labeled C and a “click” sounds.

Insert the ADF in the B support.

Connect the three cables exit from the ADF in

their respective connectors on the rear side of

the printer.

At this point bring the ADF toward the printer

and position the cable under ist case as in the

picture.

Press until the latch is securely inserted into the

rails.

A click sound advise fort he correct lock.

Now also the ADF unit in in position.

Install the rear feeder by inserting the side clips

shown in the figure.

Move down the paper feeder at the rear so that

the two hooks fit into the two slots in the top of

the ADF unit.

Now the Printer with ADF and Stacker is ready

for the usage.

Check for free space in the rear part of the

device.

Inked Ribbon Installation

To prevent damage to the print head or parts of mechanics, the printer accepts only

original Compuprint tape cartridges.

Installing tape cartridges are not original, the printer may not function properly.

Remove the ribbon cartridge from its box.

Check for hologram that identifies the originality of

consumable.

Unhook the support green ribbon cartridge.

Open the printer cover. If the printer is already

power-on, the print head will automatically position

at the halfway point. If the printer is turned off

manually move the head to mid-term.

Locate the green lever to open the printer on the

left side of it.

Release the lever and open the top of the printer.

Lift the top of the printer. up to the stop position.

The stop position will be audible with a "click". In

this way the upper part is open in conditions of

safety.

The printer is now ready to install the ribbon

cartridge.

Turn the ribbon tension knob in the direction of the

arrow to stretch the tape.

First insert the two upper legs hooking the tape

cartridge in their respective grooves provided in the

side panels of metal on the printer.

Then slowly push the bottom of the tape cartridge

until you hear a "click". If there is a certain

resistance to rotate while pressing the knob drag

tape so that the hole of the cartridge is adapted to

the shaft driving the belt.

Insert the support of the green belt in the housing

on the print head. Take care so that the two latches

of the support are aligned with the slots on the

head on both sides.

The green holder must be under hooking central

metal.

Press until you hear a "click" for a secure fit.

Slightly turn the knob in the direction of the arrow to

tighten the ribbon.

To remove the ribbon cartridge repeat in reverse the previous steps.

Make sure the tape is properly installed, otherwise an error will be displayed by the printer.

Make sure that the top of the mechanics is firmly closed. Otherwise, the printer may not print correctly.

Close the printer cover.

Attention!

The printer checks the originality of the tape and the number of characters printed and the printer stops when

an error occurs.
