Microdia FlashMover CF-Direct is a USB 2.0 card reader that allows you to read and write to Compact Flash Type I, Compact Flash Type II, and Micro Drive cards. It is compatible with Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP or above and Mac 9/X and higher systems.

The FlashMover CF-Direct is a plug-and-play device for Windows ME/2000/XP and Mac OS 9 and above. For Windows 98/98SE and Mac OS 8.6, you will need to download and install the driver from the Microdia website.

Once the driver is installed, you can simply insert your CF card into the FlashMover CF-Direct and it will appear as a new removable drive on your computer. You can then drag and drop files to and from the card as you would with any other drive.

installation guide contains all the information you need to
install your FlashMover
®
USB2.0 CF-Direct Card Reader.
For Windows Users
To install the FlashMover
®
USB2.0 CF-Direct Card Reader on Windows 98/98SE:
1. Do not plug the card reader into the PC USB port before the installation is completed.
2. Download the driver from www.microdia.com
or insert the Driver CD in the CD-ROM drive.
3. Double click the file after downloading or the CD-ROM will auto-run and pop out a Driver Installation Manual window.
4. In the Driver Installation Manual, select [Compact Flash]
5. The driver installation program will start to run and follow the installation instruction
6. After installation, reboot your computer.
7. Plug in your card reader into the USB port.
8. There is a new removable drive added to your computer.

1. Do not plug the card reader into the USB port before the installation is completed.
2. Download the driver from www.microdia.com
or insert the Driver CD in the CD-ROM drive.
3. Double click the file after downloading or the CD-ROM will auto-run and pop out a Driver Installation Manual window.
4. In the Driver Installation Manual, select [Compact Flash]
5. The driver installation program will start to run and follow the installation instruction
6. After installation, reboot your computer.
7. Plug in your card reader into the USB port.
8. There is a new removable drive added to your computer.

Removing your CF

card from the FlashMover

USB2.0 CF-Direct Card Reader
To remove the Compact Flash
TM
card on Windows system
1. Close any files that are opened and reside on the Compact Flash
TM
card.
2. You can remove your card safely after the LED stop blinking

card on Mac system
1. The Compact Flash
TM
card must be [EJECTED] or [UN-MOUNTED] by dragging the card’s disk icon in the trash.
CAUTION: Failure to properly [EJECT] the card before removing the card from the card reader could case data loss or corruption.

USING CF-Direct FlashMover
®
CARD READER
1. Connect CF-Direct FlashMover Card Reader directly
to the Computer’s USB port
2. Open My Computer - 1 Removable Disk will be
added. It is now ready for reading/writing.

CARD READER FOR CF Type I/CF Type II/Micro Drive CARD
1. After connecting the Card Reader to the computer,
you may insert the CF Type I/CF Type II/Micro
Drive Card
2. CF-Direct FlashMover Card Reader is compatible to
CF Type I, CF Type II and Micro Drive.
3. Insert the CF Type I/CF Type II/Micro Drive Card
into the slot.
NOTE: The arrow on the card must be facing toward the
card reader
4. If the CF Type I/CF Type II/Micro Drive Card is
inserted correctly, a LED light on the Card Reader
will turn to green. If not, please remove the card
and repeat Steps 3.

5. Open My Computer and double click the
Removable Disk such as Removable Disk (H:).
NOTE: The Removable Disk Drive may not be (H:). It is
depended on your computer settings.
6. Removable Disk (H:) will be opened and it is ready
to read/write to the CF Type I/CF Type II/Micro
Drive Card. Ensure all operations are completed
before removing the card.
CAUTION!
1. Backup your data before formatting the card as data will be lost.
2. Wait for all operations to be completed before removing the card.
3. The card is designed to fit easily into the system one way only. Do not bend the card or force it into the
slot.
4. Do not touch the connections with your fingers or metal objects.
5. Do not bend or flex the card reader.
(All instructions and handling information should be used in conjunction with the owner’s manuals of your
devices and computer systems.)
** USER ALERT! **
By default, Windows XP or above will format any cards having a capacity greater than 32MB with FAT32 file
system. As most digital cameras can only operate with FAT file system, please select FAT as the file system
when you reformat the card with capacity 2.0GB or below.
For CF card with capacity 4.0GB or above, please select FAT32 as the file system when you reformat the card.
