How to replace the Black Toner Bottle (cartridge)

Part #: HD-MB5TNR-KK - compatible with Quadient HD-MB50D printer

Before proceeding, please review this document completely.

The toner bottle will need to be replaced when the "No Toner" message is displayed on the printer.

Before replacing the toner bottle, spread paper or some other material around the area to keep

toner from dirtying printer and workspace.

To replace the Toner Bottle (cartridge), follow these steps.

1. Power the printer ON. Wait for printer to power-up completely, then open the front cover.

IMPORTANT: Toner replacement must be done

with the printer powered ON. If not, "No Toner"

message may continue to be displayed after

replacement and powering on.

NOTICE: Make sure toner bottle cap is

secure before shaking the bottle.

This step will help to break-up

any clumps of toner in the bottle.

CAUTION - To avoid spilling toner:

Keep toner bottle level, as you remove it.

Do NOT allow open end of toner bottle to tilt

down after removal.

Although toner bottle is self-sealing, some toner

can still spill from open end of bottle if is is not

handled properly.

4. Remove the cap of the new toner bottle.

5. Insert it gently to the direction shown below until it locks.

6. Push up the front cover until it closes.

7. Seal used toner bottle using the cap that was removed from the new toner bottle.

Dispose of used tone bottle in accordance with local/national regulations.

CAUTION - To avoid spilling toner:

Do NOT allow open end of toner bottle

to tilt down after removing cap. Keep

toner bottle level, as you install it.

•The appearance and labels of toner bottles is subject to change from time to time

without notice. The difference does not affect the quality.

•If "Toner Cartridge is almost empty" appears, the toner has almost run out. Have a

replacement toner bottle at hand.

•Please be sure to order and install Quadient part number HD-MB5TNR-KK to ensure

toner bottle compatibility with the Quadient HD-MB50D printer.

•When "No Toner" appears on the system message widget, you can view the

replacement procedure using the [ Add Toner] screen.

To display the [ Add Toner] screen, press the [Check Status] button, located at

bottom left-hand corner of screen. From the [Mach./Applic. Stat] Tab press [Check].

•If "No Toner" message appears and you find that there is a lot of toner still in the

bottle, try removing and reinstalling the toner bottle. Then close the front cover.

•If "No Toner" message continues after installing a new toner bottle. Make sure the

printer is powered ON. Then open the front cover for 5 seconds or more. Then close

the front cover.

WARNING CAUTION Important

•Do not incinerate toner (new or used) or toner containers. Doing so risks burns.

Toner will ignite on contact with naked flame.

•Do not store toner (new or used) or toner containers anywhere near naked flames.

•Do not use a vacuum cleaner to remove spilled toner (including used toner).

Absorbed toner may cause a fire or explosion due to electrical contact flickering

inside the vacuum cleaner. However, it is possible to use a vacuum cleaner that is

explosion-proof and dust ignition-proof. If toner is spilled on the floor, remove the

spilled toner slowly using a wet cloth, so that the toner is not scattered.
