Tesira Amplifiers Product Description
All Tesira® Amplifiers are AVB/TSN enabled, digital networked, multi-channel amplifiers. Models include
the AMP-4175R, AMP-4300R CV, AMP-4350R and AMP-8175R.
The Tesira Amplifiers function as an integrated part of a Tesira audio system that is configured through
the Tesira configuration software. The amplifiers serve as a dedicated endpoint making installations
easier to design, support and maintain.
The front panel OLED display allows for adjustments such as single-channel mute or all-channels mute
and provides feedback on overall status and channel performance. All models feature impedance
monitoring, as well as dual AVB/TSN connections for network redundancy. Optional rear panel input
slot(s) can be used for analog failover or as an IO expander utilizing Tesira EX-MOD cards.
Each Tesira amplifier is a two rack space, rack-mountable device, powered by 100-240VAC.
The amplifiers are best suited for training rooms, lecture halls, performing arts, houses of worship or other
applications where sound distribution or reinforcement is needed.
Tesira Amplifiers Setup and Installation
Setup and Use
The Tesira software provides an intuitive interface for configuration of the Tesira amplifier devices. The
information supplied by this manual relates to physical connections and assignment. For more details on
software setup, please consult the Tesira Help File.
Installation
The unit requires one 3.5 inch (88.9mm) high and 19 inch (483mm) wide rack space with 17.5 inch
(444mm) depth. Mounting the unit using four screws with washers will prevent marring of the front panel.
Install the unit away from heat sources, such as vents and radiators, and in rooms with adequate
ventilation. Ensure that air can circulate freely behind, beside, and above the unit. Do not exceed the
maximum ambient operating temperature of 32° - 108° F (0° - 42°C). Be aware of conditions in an
enclosed rack that may cause the temperature to exceed ambient room conditions.
Tesira Amplifiers Front
The LED indicators on the front panel of the amplifier provide information and operational status of the
amplifier and its associated output channels. LED layout and channel meters vary between amplifier
models. LED’s are grouped to show chassis status indication and amplifier channel status indication.
1. Air Vent / Grille
2. Channel status - Signal, fault, failover and mute
3. Chassis status - Power, alarm, activity, status, ais (Alarm In System)
4. Oled screen
5. Screen navigation – Up, down and select

Conventions
All numbered audio, relay and power connectors on the rear panel of the amplifier are configured with the
lowest output or input on the right of the connector as viewed from the rear of the unit.
AC Power Socket
Provides for connection of the appropriate power cord. Each amplifier uses a switch mode power supply
that has an operating voltage of 100-240V at 50/60 Hz. The Tesira AMP-8175R, AMP-4350R and AMP-
4300R CV Current draw is 3 – 2.2 Amps. The Tesira AMP-4175R Current draw is 2 – 2 Amps.
CAUTION
Do not remove or defeat the ground prong on the power cord, as this will constitute a shock hazard. Equipment should be
connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. This plug is the main disconnecting device and should
remain readily operable. There are no user interchangeable parts. Please contact Biamp Technical Support or your local distributor
for all service requirements.
Network Connection
All Tesira Amplifiers support a single Ethernet Control connection and dual AVB/TSN connections.
1. Control Network port - Allows control and monitoring via Tesira software.
2. AVB Primary and secondary connections - Allow sharing of AVB/TSN audio.
Audio Inputs and Outputs
Tesira EIC-4, EOC-4 and EIOC-4 Cards can be used to provide audio into or out of the Tesira system.
Logic IO
Allows logic contacts to be asserted or monitored.

Speaker Connection
To minimize power loss, use a speaker cable of appropriate gauge for the load impedance. For long
speaker cables, to minimize high frequency loss, choose a low capacitance cable. Use the supplied plug-
in barrier strip connectors to connect loudspeaker level outputs. If stranded speaker wire is used, be sure
to incorporate all strands into the connector, as stray strands can short to the adjacent terminal or
chassis. Do not leave excessive bare wire outside the terminals, as this can lead to shorts. Use of the
supplied cable restraints is required to secure the cable in the connector. To facilitate parallel wiring, each
connector allows for the connection of two loads to each amplifier channel.
CAUTION
All Speaker wiring connections should be made by qualified personnel and with the amplifier power removed. The 100V output
requires Class 3 wiring. Please refer to a qualified electrician or other qualified person according to local codes.
