3.6Warningsandcautions
Important:Beforeproceeding,ensurethatyouhaveread

3.7Selectingalocationforthe
transducer
Thisproductissuppliedwithatransommounttransducer.The
guidelinesbelowshouldbefollowedwhenselectingalocation
forthetransducer.
Note:Thetransducerisnotsuitableformountingonvessels
wherethetransomisaftofthepropeller(s).
Forbestperformancethetransducermustbeinstalledina
locationwiththeleastturbulenceandaeration.Themost
effectivewaytodeterminethisisbycheckingthewaterow
aroundthetransomwhilstunderway.
Thetransducershouldbemountedclosetothekeel
(centreline)ofthevessel,sothatthetransducerremainsfully
submergedwhenthevesselisturning.
Thetransducermustbemountedasuitabledistancefrom
thepropeller(s)toavoidwake.
Forclockwiserotatingpropellersthetransducershouldbe
mountedonthestarboardside,foranti-clockwiserotating
propellersthetransducershouldbemountedontheportside.

Onatwinenginevesselthetransducershouldbemounted
betweentheengines.

Cableroutingrequirementsforthetransducercable.
Important:Toavoidinterference,thecablemustberouted
asfarawayfromVHFradioantennacablesaspossible.
Thecablecanberoutedthroughoroverthetransom.
Checkthatthecableislongenoughtoreachtheequipment
thatitwillbeconnectedto.Anoptional4m(13.1ft)extension
cableisavailableifrequired.
Ensurethereisenoughslackinthetransducercable,atthe
transducerend,toallowthetransducertopivotupanddown.
Securethecableatregularintervalsusingthesuppliedcable
clips.
Fillalltransommountingholeswithmarine-gradesealantprior
totighteningsecuringscrews.
Fillthetransomcableholewithmarine-gradesealantafter
routingthecable(ifroutingthroughthetransom).
Usethesuppliedescutcheontocoveroverthetransomcable
hole(ifroutingthroughthetransom).
Anyexcesscablecanbecoiledupataconvenientlocation.
