BGM SELECTION FOR TWO MODULES
MSB2 MODULE
FUNCTION
MODULE FOR EXTERNAL BGM SELECTION AND GENERAL VOLUME CONTROL. THE
MODULE HAS TWO SECTIONS FOR CONTROLLING TWO DIFFERENT
AMPLIFICATION MODULES.
DESCRIPTION
This module consists of two sections. Each of these sections can be connected to a
amplification module (MP30/MP60/MP120) or external amplifier control module (MCA1).
From this module you can externally select the desired BGM for the zones assigned in the
amplification module. If more than one BGM is selected for the same zone, the lowest
order BGM will be used.
This module also offers a general volume control for each section and is always accessible
for instant control. The volume control will act as a general gain for the output signal of
the amplifier module to which it is connected. As all connections are internal, this module
has a blank back cover-plate.
FEATURES PER SECTION
INTERNAL
CONFIGURATIONS:
SUBSONIC
: on, off
CONTROLS:
BGM1
: When set ON, BGM1 is selected for the corresponding amplifier.
BGM2
: When set ON, BGM2 is selected for the corresponding amplifier, only if BGM1 is not
ON.
BGM3
: When set ON, BGM3 is selected for the corresponding amplifier, only if BGM1 or
BGM2 are not ON.
BGM4
: When set ON, BGM4 is selected for the corresponding amplifier, only if BGM1, BGM2
or BGM3 are not ON.
NOTE: Remember that just one BGM should be selected. If there is more than one BGM
selected, the lowest order BGM will be used. For example: If in Section A BGM1 and BGM3
are selected, the module will select BGM1 as default.
ATT:
Attenuates the general volume of the output signal on the corresponding amplifier
module

CONNECTING THE MSB2
To carry out the connection of this module you should follow the steps indicated in the figure on next page.
 Place a minijumper to enable or disable the subsonic filter (ON/OFF). Do this for each section: MJ101 in section A and
MJ102 in section B (Indication nr.1).
ATTENTION: This minijumper must be set ON or OFF. If the minijumper is not inserted at all, the module will not work
properly.
 Insert and screw the module and the chassis together in the front and back panels.

 Remove every BGM jumper found on the amplifier modules you wish to connect to this module.
 Next, connect the BGMs to each section. For that purpose, connect the included cables marked on the printed circuit
board as WI102 and WI107 (Indication nr.2) to the two amplification modules you wish to use. Observe following figure:
MSB2 Module Amplification module or Amplifier control module
 The ground pins of WI102 and BGM OFF must be the same, so please follow the above diagram carefully. If you connect it
the other way round, the module would not work and possibly damage the selected BGM Input Module.
The connection of section B follows the same scheme. Connect WI107 of section B to BGM OFF on the chosen amplifier
module.
 Following the next diagram, connect the volumes for each section. These are the included cables marked as WI103 and
WI109 for section A and B respectively. (Indication nr.3). Connect them to the corresponding amplifier modules.

If this cable is accidentally connected the other way round on the amplifier end, the filter of the MSB2 would work
inversely as marked on the printed circuit board: ON would be OFF and vice versa. The connection of section B follows the
same scheme. Connect WI109 of the MSB2 to the HPF of the corresponding amplifier module.
 Connect the data bus (Flat 20-way cable) to the connectors marked with nr.4 in the next figure..
