AFW6-4 Quick Start Guide

The Apricorn AFW6-4 FireWire Adapter kit enables you to connect and power

your Aegis FireWire drive (6pin) or any other 6-pin FireWire peripheral to an

unpowered 4 pin FireWire or iLink port.

INSTRUCTIONS (see diagram below)

1. Plug the FireWire 6pin - 4pin Adapter into the 4-pin port on your computer.

2. Insert the included AC Adapter into the FireWire Adapter as shown below.

3. Plug the AC Adapter into the power socket - the 6-pin port is now powered.

4. Your AFW6-4 FireWire Adapter is now ready to power your drive. Plug your

Aegis drive or other FireWire peripheral into the powered 6-pin FireWire port.

Please note that when the

AFW6-4 FireWire Adapter kit is

plugged into a power source,

the 6-pin FireWire port on the

kit is live.

Therefore any device left

attached to the 6 pin connector

will be receiving power as long

as it is plugged in, even if the

4-pin data port is not plugged

into the computer.
